Sure, that'll work. You're just lowering the nic strength a bit when doing it like that.
Seebo, you can buy some PG or VG as well and mix it in with the nic base to decrease the amount of nic per ml then add the flavoring to it. Look up a juice calculator and it will help you with the mixing. I'm sure someone here knows of a good one to use.
