Actually, my last B/F's ex-wife's name was Leslie, and he used to slip sometimes and call me that... (my name is Louise) LOL!! So I don't know why, but it just popped into my head...
I'm Hungarian. too!! I know a nice Hungarian guy who's name is Leslie, but he goes by 'Les'. And there was a guy in HS named Lynn... some names are not as gender specific as people think...

My brother in law's brother's name is Shannon, also not a gender specific name. I've always loved the name Alex for a girl, not traditionally a girl's name but cute!
