With these chips like the dna series, the Naos Raptor, and the OKR-T10, is there any reason other than aesthetics to bother with a mechanical? It seems to me (and I confess, I do not have a mech, I decided to go with a dna 30 for my first major mod), that these chipped mods have mechanicals licked when it comes to function. But I am still extremely new to the wonderful world of vaping and I would like to hear others thoughts.

So, which wins the battle, Chipped Mods, or Mech Mods?

Well -- You won't get a fight out of me as there are very nice DNA mods I would love to have. I can't afford the Wizard's Apprentice Evolved 2, that one is top notch imo. I love mech mods because they are affordable even though I would love to have a Hanna,(they clone those now also) I will stick with what works for me for now anyway.

Two different animals altogether. I love my mechs tho. I have a Buzz Pro and a couple of Provari's for my pinky lifting sipping vapor :D

Spot on Jimmi -- Different and mechs to me are awesome! LMAO at pinky lifting sipping vapor!

But are they different animals, or are these new chipped devices just an evolution from the animal that was the mech? vaping at 30, 50, 60, 70, 100+ watts regulated seems to only be in a mechanicals dreams, or have I missed something while perusing?

Not in my dreams at all..if so I would order a Gi2 (cloned also)

I can adjust the wattage according to my builds. If these chip mods had great battery life I would purchase one. As for now I'm content with my mechs. I feel safer without electronics believe it or not.

I think there's a group that prefers the mechs because they fear vapageddon. ....and who knows, their fears could be well-founded.

I don't fear vampegeddon..look I build 0.90 coils and with a fresh 18650 at 4.2 volts I'm vaping at around 19 watts. If I want to sub ohm at 0.30 ohms, I'm at around 58 watts. Plenty enough for anyone imo.

And don't get me wrong, I think mech's are beautiful and I will be adding one to my arsenal. Also, I'm down with original stuff, hell, if i had to choose between a wooly mammoth or an elephant, duh, wooly mammoth all day. Im just curious as to if there is anything that a mech can do functionally these chips can't do, and can't do far better.

I like that, perhaps mechanicals are more durable. There is a landed punch from the Mechs corner.

I will say though, I dropped the .... out of my DNA 30 (I'm 6'5, nothing is a short drop) in my garage and the thing isn't even scratched, nothing rattling, its all good (should have seen me cringe haha, it was the first night I had it).

Battery life, the DNA goes all day easy, two days is doable, and I vape allllll day. I've heard you often have to carry spare batteries around for a mech, seems to me a battery is a battery is a battery, but the DNA has a passthrough, do mechs?

No -- Mech have no circuitry..nothing to break to cause it not to function.
