Sitting down, facing forward.
Yeah, I track my vaping expenditures in a spreadsheet and watch my "saved" number in my signature here. I keep closing the gap, then something else comes along and sets the numbers askew yet again. Every time it happens I say that I won't need to order anything, a liter of nicotine, liter of VG and PG, 40 bottle of flavors, lots of batteries, lots of CE3s, lots of T3s and so on. Then the CE3s start to wear out and I worry about the FDA again and there go the numbers one more time. It's a vicious cycle.

We would listen to you Kon... you're an expert on this sort of thing! ;)
I will dissapoint you but i believe i'm just a regular idiot! :)

The VapeSafe may be a good idea for basic style devices that use 18/16series batteries. The newer versions of devices, with VV and or VW capabilities all seem to come with both over current shut down as well as protection from devices with too low a resistance, sort of a marginal overload, condition. Even so, it can provide an extra layer of protection. I do wonder what the response time of it is, in terms of milliseconds. If it is really "fast" it could also, potentially, protect the electronics of the vaping device as well, but it would need to be extremely fast as in microseconds.
Miliseconds?? No way. These fuses take time, the resetable one takes quite some time. It won't protect you against high voltage spikes. Only long short circuits. Same goes for the one time fuse, but i believe it will react a bit faster.

Speaking of saving, you know that line so many people have about how much they saved not buying analogs? I wonder how it equals out when you think of what that same person spends on vaping paraphernalia. I think a conservative person might still get off more cheaply, but an extravagant person wouldn't. Has anyone calculated this for themselves, or do we all just not want to know?

I don't want to calculate... ignorance sometimes is bliss! ;)

I have a iphone free app called VapeMate. At this very moment, it says that I used to spend 61.50 on cigarettes per week and the cost of vaping is 128.26

I'm not saving any money. But it's nice to see the app counting backwards on those days I don't submit an order!

There is a new Kanger T3 out now... called the Kanger EVOD sort of like the kanger MT3. Stormy's had them but they are out of stock already. I'm glad I was able to grab a couple to try out... I like the looks of the tips.

Well, I received my DIY stuff yesterday. As most of you know, I wanted a sweet tart recipe. I found a few but was really confused about how much of what needed to go into it. So, I pulled out my little beaker and supplies and watched this video: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...t-perfumers-apprentice-blueberry-redbull.html

I liked the way he did everything easy peasy. No real measurements, just a little of this and that. So I followed his way of doing it. Not really worrying that much about the exact amounts. I mixed it up and did a little drip test and wow! It tastes pretty good! I have no clue as to how much nicotine I'm vaping, but I did cut it down a bit with some extra PG/VG. I kinda like this guys approach, at least for sweet tart recipe.

Tail is doing her happy dance!

The tradeoff for me is... improved health, not having to dump ashtrays from the car or house and most importantly to me is no second hand smoke around my grandkids or my husband OR Spanky. I also hated the taste of cigarettes but couldn't give them up until I started vaping. It is costing me a bunch but I look at it as an investment.

I totally agree. I didn't mind the taste of cigarettes because my taste buds were shot. Now I'm sure I wouldn't like it, but I'm not going to try another cigarette to see.

I didn't smoke in the house, but I did in the car. I have that nasty reminder every time I get into it.

Wabbit is back for a bit mates. Took a pic of the Vamo with an SI carto and Cone. Evidently with the adapter I can use all of my SI products with this device.

We had warmer weather today -- it was in the high 20s. I took a walk earlier, and I saw a dad and his kids having great fun. He was towing them in a sled with his snowmobile around the yard. The kids were shrieking with glee, and every once in a while one fell out of the sled.

Here's a photo of another kind of lichen from that on the rock, if you remember my former lichen photo. I think the shapes are interesting. Since I've been taking pictures, I look at details that totally slipped my consciousness before.

So which is safer for a vaper to use--- an X2 or something like the Vamo? Or does it really make a difference?

I seem to remember fast acting fuses back when I was working in electrical supply. I don't remember specific response time, but I'm pretty sure they were down in the millisecond range. As a matter of fact, that was one of the arguments against circuit breakers. They take far longer to act than a fuse does, assuming a normal, bimetal fuse.

As far as you being a regular idiot, Kontantine, you are far from that to say the least. A regular lunatic maybe, which explains why you fit in with the rest of us!

I don't see either an X2 or a Vamo style being any safer that the other. They both contain protection circuits designed to prevent problems caused by short circuit or other overcurrent/over power situations. At them moment, they both represent "best practice" in the vaping world.

I agree with Rabbit. Home made mods can get to be problematic IF the builder is not aware of all the potential hazards involved and doesn't incorporate them properly. One of the other problems is that testing the "mod" for those protections could be destructive to the "mod" which makes some tests very unlikely to happen...more than one would be required. If I remember the latest story of an electronic cigarette exploding in the users face, it happened to someone who built his own "mod" and used unprotected batteries, Radio Shack, and managed to overload them severely enough to make them overheat and pop while vaping. Darwin even works in the vaping world!

Yea, I thought about making a box mod, since you can make one for less than $15 with Radio Shack parts, but they look like crap and the danger part is something else to consider.

Its so much better to hold a stainless steel pipe bomb in your hand and suck away:ohmy:
Especially one with a rifle shell as a fire button.

Looks good with the cone! I do however, see a Mr Bill resemblance with the new firing button. I'm sorry...my mind wanders. ;)
