Once again, I'm impressed by their performance. Oh! To be able to move like that! They make their bodies into art. I haven't watched figure skating in a long while, and what I remember didn't have choreography like this. Has the whole scene evolved, or are they the exception?

Well, I won't say that they are the exception, but they certain were (are?) extraordinary. It's been years since I've seen them in action. Well, I guess since the Olympics in 1994!! Time flies ....

Yes, I was trying a little EverCLear, 2.5%, to improve throat hit but it seems to take more than that since I didn't notice much of a difference at 2.5%. Then again, that may be me.

I'm mixing three and sometimes four flavors plus EM in my tobacco mixes at the moment. I'll probably be adding more, a second or even third tobacco flavor and some additional flavors as well, maybe a little coffee of one sort or another.

Steeping is a good question. I never thought steeping was important, then I tried Renolizzies basic tobacco mix. Freshly mixed it wasn't very good, to me, but steeped for a week to ten days it's really nice. Made me a convert! My own version of RY4 I don't steep, other than the second bottle sitting while I vape the first. That can take a week and it does taste more mellow after that much time, so steeping is probably a good idea.

Funny, when I mix the nicotine goes in first, then the PG, then the VG and then the flavors. I have no real reason for that, just the method I started with and use. I'm not that worried about the amount of fumes coming out of a bottle, or bottles, sitting on my desk, but when I'm moving from a 250ml to 60ml bottles for storage the exposure is a lot bigger so I'm careful to get the fan going, I'm dizzy enough already.

I have never really steeped fruit flavors, but some of the other, more savory flavors and tobaccos just really bloom with time. If I don't care for a flavor very much, I stash it for a month or so and try it again. It'll be a whole new ballgame.

I don't worry about fumes when I'm dealing with 60mg nic. I won't go any higher than that because I'm a literal spaz.

Then revisiting their performances must be a treat for you, too. It's all new to me -- I admit, I'm more or less out of the loop, since I don't watch TV -- so I really appreciate these you've showed me.

I rarely watch TV anymore either, but when my late husband was still around, we enjoyed watching the Olympics together. The Ice Dancing category really appealed to both of us. Torville & Dean just blew us away. And yeah, watching these again is a real treat.

Rave said she enjoyed my photos, and I hope others do, too, so here's one of a horse, and I'll tell her story, too. This is Luna, a quarter horse mare, owned by a former fellow boarder.

IMG_8978_zps6eb376b3.jpeg

I love this photo, because Luna looks so balanced and together. The barn owner and I turned her out in the outdoor ring and chased her around so I could get some photos of her to do a portrait that the barn owner was going to give to Luna's owner, Kelly, as a gift. We decided on a head shot, but I always liked this photo best, so I thought I'd share it with you.

Kelly and Luna were a real pair. Though Kelly has other horses, Luna was always her special girl. They were closely bonded, like Penny and I are, not just a horse and owner. One of the times that this bond came home to me was that Kelly and her family were in a bad car accident. She broke her leg rather badly and was in a wheelchair for a while. One day after some recuperation, she went to the barn to see Luna. The barn owner had taken Luna in from the pasture and put her in a stall before Kelly arrived. Then Kelly wheeled down the barn aisle to Luna's stall. Luna put her head over the Dutch door to Kelly, who just embraced her. Luna had a look of utter contentment on her face. While Kelly was laid up, others rode Luna, but she never really seemed happy with the attention. When I saw Kelly and Luna at the stall door, tears welled up in my eyes, it was so moving. I wish I had had my camera with me that day.

Probably sooner than the doctor said, Kelly was riding Luna again. Luna was very patient and gentle with Kelly. I think she knew Kelly was hurt. As time went on, Kelly healed completely and went back to jumping Luna and showing her, and trail riding, all the things they had done before. But Luna was getting old, and Kelly kept looking for a horse to take Luna's place when Luna got too old for that kind of activity and was retired.

I moved Penny from that barn to where I board her now, and I hadn't seen Kelly in a while. I heard she got another, younger horse she was pleased with, and I guess Luna was retired or maybe just used for gentle trail rides.

Then one day after I broke my arm, I bumped into Kelly in town. She said she had put Luna down. By then, she seemed OK with it, but I'm sure it was devastating at the time.

So this photo and story is in memory of a great horse.

Gosh - now I'm confused - KIA - she's been here right?
Thanks Lizzie ... it feels pretty good to realize the time has moved on - without the stinkies!
The 'fur-kids' sure have a way of reminding you they need as much attention as little tike!
The 'kids' have been pretty amazing lately. Almost had a halter on Ameera. It will come ... tonight Spice was fairly agreeable to the rubber curry gently used on the neck. Tonight she allowed my gloved fingers on the cheeks more. When I walked away - I could hear her right behind me. I waited a minute then turned to talk to her. Won't that be a hoot if she goes from the most aloof to the most loveable! but then there's Habib (beloved) Ata (gift) ... oh my - good thing I'm not a filly! Love that boy's profile! He's sweet and friendly too. Bet you can't tell where my heart is! Oh no! here I go again!

Between vaping and horses - I'm loosing track of the wish lists started all over the world wide web! :pop::w00t::w00t:

Thank you all for the comments about your DIYing. I'm bleary eyed - time to go stack the dishwasher and get in another round of stretching ... (bahh hum bug - but it feels so good when it's over!)

Sandy - I hope you get back to near if not total 100%. Pre 2004 - I remember 1 day in 1988 I didn't have back pain. Great day at a swap meet in california. bout 2010 til last summer was a nice period of feeling like a kid - darn I want that back!

Ok SandySu - now I'm needing stock in Puffs ...
Gorgeous! Amazing coloring! Thank you for sharing her story ... (sniff sniff)
I'm not always able to "like" (doesn't show on Tappa Talk) - but I'm getting ready to transfer pic to the desktop for an amazing ECF screen saver!

Wabbit - any new additions to the Volt Village photo?

Ok - I see I need to clarify - nic base in glass in freezer (smaller sizes) for less air oxidation. WL thread. I saved the info in Memo program but ATM not sure how to copy to paste it here. Will try to locate link.

After a lil chat w/ Natasha, I have to thank her! I realized some of my fruit flavors are Likes bcs of TH more than actual strong taste coming thru. Me thinks it also explains why the "menthol" is preferred. Also why Ice Menthol was preferred (no 'baccy flavor) over Artic. Now I find the 'baccy w/ or w/o menthol good.

SandySu: More thots on what you said - here's hoping my bro will have some time to help me get started w/ stalls! Mostly dirt floor BUT I have access to some 2" thick rubber mats from the dairy barn! My final goal is no more than 4 horses which would leave a generous shelter AND nice stalls 10x12. That's close to standard right? The area is 32x40 or 42 feet. Think I better be lurking at the horse forum. Sorry guys-don't mean to hi-jack Voltvillian Vapors! (WISH those buckets came in more than 3 colors! I'm all about color coding! Ink on calendars & vaping juice-drip tips; halter-feed bucket!)

Also: your guide to lunging: I've heard you should align w/ their shoulder/wither area. Step behind to move them forward; step ahead to slow. Do you (and Raynes) concur?

Oh I don't want to jinx it! Prayin for go ahead to finalizing 'sale' tomorrow!

Kicco are you free lounging or using a lounge line? Two books I highly recommend here both by Cherry Hill. One is 101 Lounging exercises that is very VERY user friendly you can take it to the round pen with you and the other is her book Lounging and Long Line. Both are for English and Western disciplines. I found some patterns in her 101 book that I used to judge western show halter.
The BEST rule of thumb I can give you if you want to train your own horse, is find ONE book,ONE training philosophy to go with. For a novice trainer I'd have to say her books are the best out there. Tried and true.
For now I'd say keep working on cementing that bond with your horses, and work on learning to read your horses. That way when you make a mistake it won't sour your relationship and it will be safer for the both of you.

I was confused, too. I think Kia changed her screen name.

I'm glad to hear you're making such headway with your horses. I wish you could post some pictures of them.

Sort of like I did with Luna -- a picture and then tell about the horse.

That's horrible that you haven't been pain-free in so many years. It's definitely time for PT! I hope you can be pain-free again soon.

That photo of Luna will have to be my good night picture, since Bill just came home from work, and I realized it's later than I thought. Off to do the exercises. My PT is leaving at the end of the month, but I think I'll get the guy who is the arm and hand specialist, who I saw once already and really liked. I'd rather have him than my PT's replacement, an unknown.

Sorry I have not had time to get on tonight, but I PMed Awsum about updating 5 computers with new Microsoft Updates, something all of you will encounter in the next day or two, if you haven't seen the update yet. It takes forever at least on my bunch of old computers. I think there were two sets one of 10 updates and one with 4 more. Anyway, I enjoyed everone's posts and it is 11:45 PM. Mrs. Wabbit went to bed at 10:00 PM and I am just checking in on the Chit Chat.

Nobody on but me, so Good Night and if you read this tomorrow: Good Morning everyone.

Hey Sandy! Those horses look short! (or it looks that way) How tall are they?

Do you mean Luna? She's a quarter horse, and generally, they aren't real tall. I'd guess she was about 15 hands. A hand = 4 inches, so maybe you can do some math and get an idea. They measure a horse at the withers, the top of the shoulder, sort of a hump at the base of the neck. Some QHs are taller, because they have appendix QHs, which means they have Thoroughbred blood in them, too. But Luna was a classic QH, built short and bulky. They were bred to herd cattle, and a cutting horse has to be compact so they can be nimble and turn quickly. A tall horse with long legs and a long back like a TB can't "turn on a dime," as the saying goes. Their long legs may make them better racehorses and jumpers, and they do have races for QHs, but the type of QH they use for racing looks a little more like a TB than a true, old-style QH.

Yes we have races like that here too. Mostly on mountains because they need to be able to move easy. And mostly shorter strong horses probably because of the terrain. Example: Bucephalus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The Thessalian horses are the biggest here.
Luna is 152cm Thessalians are around 155-160cm pretty much the same.

I call them: Ancient dirt bikes :D
