I looks like that he sure likes that bone. Better not take that away. You might end up without a hand..

Believe it or not I can, literally, take food right out of his mouth. I found that out when he tried eating a paper napkin along the road when I was walking him, right after we got him. My wife routinely plays with hi by taking his bone and throwing it for him to chase. I do think he knows it's "his" bone and he'll always get it back. That's a big Nylabone and it lasts about a month for him.

Hi Dragon Chief - Great seeing you. You take good care of your dog, I can tell:)

Awsum - So cute with the big bone. Nom, nom as Raven would say.

Kico - Rusty the Red Dog is an Australian Shepherd. He loves keeping an eye on his property. Don't tell anyone but he is a total chicken. When the Propane lady shows up, he barks and looks real brave for as long as he can and then he slinks into the backyard to spy on the propane lady. He looks really scary but he is not a mean dog. At least no one will ever catch him and take him home with them:) He isn't going anywhere near strangers and he won't get into their car.

Hubby takes him for a "ride" in the car every morning when he leaves for work. He bribes Rusty with a cookie. They go to the gate and then Hubby lets him out. He can ride in the car. He just doesn't want to.

Well, I got just enough done to be productive and now I am going to read a book and pretend I really care if the laundry and the dishes get caught up.

I think part of a dog's training should be that he allows you to take food away from him -- right out of his mouth, if need be. If he eats something bad for him, like the napkin, then it's important to take it away and not have a sick dog.

Nice looking dog awsum! How much food do you go through in an average month?

Bo gets two cups plus, twice a day. With his current food that equates to a 35 pound bag every month. Of course, that doesn't include his treats LOL.

We take Bo to the vet every now and then to weigh him, he doesn't fit on our scale or into my arms (my back would go anyway LOL). He loves going for rides and we usually have a harness on him attached to a seat belt,..who wants a 160 pound missle flying around in an emergency?

Bo is magnificent! He is definitely a hefty boy.

Spanky loves to go for a ride. He is secured in a booster seat that is high enough for him to look out the window in a seated position. He has been used to going for rides since puppyhood and never gets car sick. When the weather is nice, we are always going out either to the park or family visits. Spanky is a social butterfly.

Hey, wow! One of my favorite local winery/restaurants has made a bunch of videos. Here's one that reminds me a little of Julia Child. Baked Brie Cream Puffs with chef Brud Holland - YouTube

My friend Karen and I used to ride together every weekend, and after riding, we'd go to a local restaurant for lunch. Lots of the wineries have restaurants, so mostly it was winery restaurants we went to. We went to one after another till we had visited them all within a reasonable range. We both agreed that Red Newt was our favorite place for lunch. Karen and I no longer ride together, but we still meet occasionally for lunch -- at Red Newt, of course.

I'm doing good Chief. How about you?

I've tried taking food away from Penny and now I can at least sometimes get her to drop it. Of course, it's usually a dead rodent of some sort. She can chew and swallow down an entire rodent and run at the same time. A disgusting skill.

I envy you. We had snow most of the day. Very wet snow. I think it's raining on it now.

That's why I pay high taxes to live in a state where I can drive 4 hours to the snow and 1 hour to the beach! I feel for you Sandy. I used to hate winter around this time when I lived back east. I'm a warm weather gal, that's for sure!

I tried brie on several occasions and just never acquired a taste for it. I've never had French Brie, so perhaps it's a bit different. All I ever tasted was ammonia.

We motorcycle biker types have an old saying "Ride to eat, eat to ride!" We usually go to diners and such and stay away from most chain restaurants when we can.

I love Brie! Brie and Stoned Wheat Thins. Yum! I don't go to chain restaurants much, either. I like the ones like Red Newt's, that use local, fresh ingredients and make things with an unusual, artistic flair. Not only is their food good, but it comes out plated beautifully. Their wines are good, too, and the restaurant offers more than just their brand.

Judging by that beautiful flowering tree in your backyard, seems like you live in ideal weather conditions. What is your average temps this time of year?
