Twilight Zone
A guy was texting while driving in heavy slow moving traffic and didn't notice the light had changed until he bumped into the car in front of him. In seconds a very small man jumped out and went to the back of his car to check the damage, then stormed up to the window obviously in a state of rage. "I'm not happy." The other driver looked down and sarcastically replied "Oh? Which one are you?"

I posted this in the funny pages but thought I'd put it here also in view of the "theme".

I got a story to share - it happened last weekend. I think all the animal lovers will love the story. I was extremely impressed with not only the main person in the story, but also with the people that witnessed and were part of the story...

We were driving downtown Sunday and this car (about 3 or 4 cars ahead of us) stops in the middle of traffic (no red light or stop sign) and the lady driving the car jumps out and rushes to the middle of the road. About this time the other line of traffic also stops. We were far enough back that we really could not see what was going on, but she was obviously in a hurry. We could tell she bent down and it looked like she was picking up something. She then ran across the street where there were a few trees and placed whatever she had picked up off of the road in the tree. When she removed her hands we could just make out that it was a baby bird. The lady ran back to her car, jumped in, and continued on.

The really neat part about this whole story was not just the lady taking the time to try and save the bird, but also the reaction of the other drivers - no one was blasting horns or yelling out the window - they all stopped, waited and as she drove on - several waved at her...

OH MY GOSH!! That's hilarious! Maybe I'm Snow White reincarnated. * ... oh wait ... that's fiction ... *
Cindy - you made my day. I needed a good laugh.

Looks pretty much like heaven to me (if you skip the dwarves).

Why skip the dwarves? They could do all your housework for you. Actually, instead of 7 dwarves, you have one big dog. Does that count?

My thought exactly, Sandy. :D Skip the dwarves? Are you kidding? They'd be what I like to call "staff."

Sorry - but that would seriously cramp my whole reclusive nature. And seven? Oh heck no!! I've already got robotic staff, a son to mow the septic field and chop firewood, and a BIG ole dog to keep the sasquatch from invading. Life is already perfect.

Semi - What a wonderful story!! :)

This sounds very similar to a stunt that I pulled when I was about 7 months pregnant with my son. And in my defense, I probably was hormonally influenced to the extent of not thinking too clearly. I was driving down a moderately busy highway outside of Columbus, Ohio at night when a mama raccoon ran across the highway with two kits hot on her tail. A third kit lagged behind a bit and was struck by an oncoming car, but was not killed. I jammed on my brakes, turned on the flashers and got out of the car. Walked over to the kit who couldn't seemed to get up. Cars approached from both sides so I put out both arms with palms outward like a traffic cop and stopped traffic dead from both directions. It must have been quite a sight for an extremely pregnant woman to be in the middle of the road halting traffic. I could hear the mama .... calling to her kit from the side of the highway - and that did it. Without even thinking I scooped the kit up and put it down my sweater! The next day I took the kit to a vet who was able to treat wildlife. From there, it was taken to a rescue. Had I been thinking clearly, I never would have endangered my unborn child that way, but it was a gut reaction.

Rave, at least you thought of stopping the traffic first. This lady stopped - no flashers and no arms out except to pick up the baby bird... Like you - at the moment she was focused and not on herself... But, the support she got with her effort was great - to bad there weren't any cameras around. I would share the pic...

Well, I am embroiled in a disagreement with the mods, so I thought I would come back to where it is safe!

If You do not mind "Me" saying something about this to You . . . IMO - It seems that You & the other main person involved are having a very good discusssion . . . And it looks like to "ME" that You and the other person will actually work it out finally . . . AND - once again IMO - You are doing a very fine job at explaining how you see things . . .

However - there is . . . ONE THING YOU NEED TO REMEMBER . . . .

IF ONLY - You actually were totally safe - THEY ARE EVERYWHERE . . .

Stay here honey, it's not only safe, it's also fun!!
And you get to learn a lot of things, too!!

Uncle, would you believe that yesterday after reading the post about Snow White, I kept trying to remember all the dwarves' names?
You saved the day, once again!!!

Oh man, not again. Hope it works out. We missed you last time.

Uncle, it's a darn shame I can only like that post once. It pretty well sums up the sad state we've been reduced to with the erosion of our freedoms by our nannies.

Still rockin' that old Che t-shirt, huh, Uncle? 'Tis true about being under scrutiny here: ECF is private (whether "corporate" or not is irrelevant) property, and is watched over by unpaid, volunteer moderators who primarily try to keep ECF a pleasant, informative, non-obscene, unpr0nigraphic, uninflammatory environment for the entire vaping community and all other interested parties (including Governmental and ANTZ types). I don't "get" some of the rules, but then I am not a computer or forum-smart person, and ultimately all participation here -- including mine -- is voluntary. Do I agree with every decision and post a moderator makes? Heck no, but then I also rarely know the whole story.

Retriever, I am sorry about your ongoing difficulty. I agree that a "permanent" black mark stinks -- I think even DUIs are eventually erased (for insurance purposes), given enough time! :D It's probably a good idea for you to just resist the temptation to comment on anyone else's mod woes.

Finally, today's reading assignment for anyone who has nothing to keep them otherwise occupied :D : 1984 and Animal Farm, both by George Orwell.

"All pigs are created equal, but some pigs are more equal than others." :D
