Thank you for your service to our country.

DITTO ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ WHAT HE SAID

Yes - IMO - No Matter how anyone felt about the Vietnam War - nor Their Political Beliefs during and since that time period . . . Many of the Very Brave Men & Women who served Our Country in the Vietnam War were disenfranchised and marginalized upon their return and deserved a lot better treatment then they received when they came HOME for what they did . . .

So To Each & Every One
Of Those Service Personnel
I Not Only Give "My" Total Appreciation . . .
But "My" Thanks ! ! !

Thank you, Sherlock. I just do not want it to sound as if I was in any way coming down on Uncle. If it did, I apologize.

Hey - at first, when I read your post I didn't know what to think . . . But after thinking about it some more, I knew that is NOT What You Meant - but What "YOU FELT" that it was a touchy subject for You . . .

AND - Although it is very nice for you to do so (Thank YOU) - No NEED to Apologize . . . A sore spot is a sore spot . . . (AND GEES - DO I KNOW SORE SPOTS . . . Have a few myself . . .:D . . . ALL youi have to do is just read some of "My" earlier post . . .   ) . . . So While "We" May Differ On Some Things, especially given that time period and what happened then - I know very well that there is just some "stuff" that still comes up today that doesn't sit well for most people - and I understand that totally . . . Hey - BTW: as far as I am concerned there is nothing we can't talk about if we keep a level head and sometimes even agree to disagree, especially when it is a sore subject like this one is for both of us . . .

SO as Far as I am conerned - WE ARE GOOD MY FRIEND (that is if I may call you that) . . .

Mind you, I'm only 4'11". About 1 1/2 years ago (before I started vaping), I got all the way up to 160 lbs! When I hit that, I went vegetarian. Then when I started vaping, it became easier to work out again. Now I'm on the "Poverty Diet" (no expensive take-out/junk/unnecessary/processed foods, so eating healthier) and the weight's just dropping off on its own, without even really trying! :)

But the vaping has a lot to do with it - I have a crazy sweet tooth and it's doing a really good job at quelling that. Sugar is your enemy! And I don't think I would've incorporated all this "healthy" stuff if I hadn't quit smoking.

But was I consciously dieting? Not really. Thanks! Feeling good!
...but now I have a lot of sewing to do, cuz none of my clothes fit!

Me either - my goal is just to get back to what I weighed when I first married my wife 23 years ago - 12 more lbs to go...

I could never get back to what I weighed when I was 20 - I was a rail in those days... 5 - 10 mile cross country runner and had to eat everything in sight fighting to keep my weight up - now looking at it the wrong way can add two lbs... (LOL)...

Okay question to the group. If someone has asked you the same question 25,404 times and 24000+ times you have given the same answer - do you think they should stop asking?

Every day my wife asks me "What do you want for breakfast?" - "Food"; "What do you want for lunch?" - "Food"; What do you want for dinner?" - "Food" -- Or "Do you want gravy for the potatoes?" - "If you make it" etc. etc. etc.... Every day for 23+ years... (LOL)...

Uncle, watch it. While you were demonstrating, some of us were being blown up and killed. I'm just sayin'...

EDIT: Sorry, soft spot.

I think you made a perfectly civil and just observation, Bluesman. I too thank you for your service; and also yours, Wuzzn't. And I'm so terribly sorry for the personal losses I know you both incurred in the "Southeast Asia Conference."

No. I think your wife is being a patient sweetheart -- always asking, just in case you might actually have a preference for once. She may also be pleading for a little input/some suggestions: you have no idea what a sheer baffling drudgery it is to put food on the table for other people 3 times a day, 7 days a week, 50-53 weeks a year, unless you've actually done it.

Be a champ: next time she asks, why don't you offer to take her out for that meal instead? :)

Yeah, I can relate to this. I would always ask "What would you like for dinner?" because I was reallllly hoping for a suggestion. Never got one. EleanorR is right - It's rough cooking for a family every night, and 90% of the difficulty for me was trying to think of an idea of what to make. *sigh*
