I used both FireFox and Chrome for a while. Stopped using FireFox when Chrome came out, then stopped using that when I found out Google was tracking everything done on Chrome. So now I'm back on IE. To me it sounds like you may have some sort of virus or trojan on that machine, given your problems and such. I'd be very cautious with what I did on it. Maybe a reformat and fresh re-install will help. I'm cheap and still using XP-pro. Every now and then, when things get too slow, I wack the drive and start fresh. It's a pain in the .... making sure I have all the software license codes around and access to the original installations of them, then updating and re-installing evrything, but this thing flies for a long time after that and it's an old Compaq craptop with an AMD processor I used to use for mobile work.

*Ahhhh sigh*, I knew XP so well...it was like loosing a long lost friend......

No others at present, I was thinking Chrome & now Star suggested Firefox but I'm still wondering if I should just take it back to the repair geeks while the warranty is still good...dont wanna be without my pc for 12 days again lol

Yes i was afraid to say u may have virus, but its hard to say with out seeing the machine. it could be minor too. i dont use IE, mainly chrome and firefox. i tried opera but it was too buggy and slow for me. I switched to Win7-64 bit a couple years ago, but i liked XP better to and skipped Vista. i got an unopen copy of WINxp prof if someone wants it pm me. i know how to use unix, and someday i may make a linux machine.... i am really a Mac person but there hardware got so expensive, especially if u can build ur PC's and reuse stuff. i also used to game alot, and hardware, especially good video cards are so much cheaper on the PC side.

Anyway my last Mac Laptop broke at a ripe age of 6 years old ... someone hit it and broke the screen which did not help ... but i miss it ... I like mac OS better for just browsing and e-mail, never had a need to run anti virus software on it. But again they are very expensive & a new one just not in the budget .... i know what u mean about 12 days, my current PC has some intermittent problem and it seems to be the DFI motherboard. DFI used to be an excellent overclocking MOBO, but the company changed when i got this motherboard, they used to have great forum for support and changed it and its been problematic since day one. i moved the powersupply around for better cooling and its doin better .. but will just go anytime, then i need clear CMOS, reset all CMOS settng and see if it took the settings. its supposed to have 4 banks to remember save old CMOS but it just doesnt work ... i have checked and replaced the CMOS battary. Windows will run auto update when its acting finicky and i am sure it has screwed the registry up, and i should reload Windows also.

Then there is the constant problem of keeping flash synced with the browser and video drivers. I hate flash and how everyone writes web pages for it. Did u know the default setting in flash are allow flash to turn on ur camara and microphone if it feels the need, thats scary ... then flash keeps turning on hardware acceleration which is finicky on my machine (whether of not i have the latest drivers) and the average user cant go update there video drivers and be sure not hose the registry. ..... Not crazy about google either, but i use chrome and grit my teeth. Google/Chrome really ...... me off when i found out, it auto updates and gives the user no choice to choose when they want to update. and google and chrome track everything i am sure ... i clear my cache alot, but these days i think all that stuff stored in the cloud.

I know what u mean about waiting & this was supposed to be a short Post bout that, i just keept typing uuuugh .... Anyhow, I just got a new motherboard from E-bay (was tough finding a compatible one at a decent price), anyway i need to pull the old motherboard out and in with the new, but i know its gonna take me few days if i dont have reload windows, if i do have to reload windows it will take a week. i do have much older mac upstairs tho, that's could probably do simple browsing... Come to think of it, i have had close to 20 macs for 30 years and only once did need to completely reload the OS.

LOL i have a love/hate relationship with computers.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Good morning, People. Yeah, I'm up early today. Coffee is on me. Help yourself. Donut Man (Semi) seems to be MIA. Maybe by the time the sun is up, someone will come along with a tasty treat. :)

03:30???? Early is an understatement! I got to "sleep in today", got up at 06:00. Now the dog is walked and fed and I'm enjoying my coffee and RY4.

I have to admit its somewhat of a chore to charge batteries, and clean batteries and fill up the carts, then it gets aggravating when mouth starts going through all these healing phases and there have been times I have just wanted to say"Forget it".
However at 51yrs old I can do a 2hr work out now, train horses do whatever and not sound like a steam engine, and the BEST part is I'm not having to be on the defensive and hurt anyone's feelings about my smoking anymore.
Now if my vapes were taken away:evil:
