Konstantine & Sherlock, I see you two are our technical gurus here. For those of us more technically/electrically challenged, I for one would love it if when it gets to either of you actually fixing or repairing something, that you post a few pictures, yes? I could take it on, if I saw how you did it! :toast:
I think i posted pics here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/smokeless-image/270846-charging-thoughts.html
I forgot my cam on oneof my cars at work and i took pics with my mobile.
You need tools if you are going to perform simple tasks, usually cheap stuff. The more advanced stuff need other things :)

My week is not starting off to good. I found out that my acct has been compromised and it took 3 pretty good hits. One of my biggest pet peeves ever are liars, cheaters and a thief!! I work hard for the little money I have and it just really irks me that they will probably get away with this. The charges show at different places in Virginia. I spent most of my morning at the bank changing all account numbers and signing fraud papers and blah. Yes, the money will eventually be put back into my account. But it so aggravating... all the things now I have to do with auto paid bills and so forth. UGH! Not to mention..... not a penny to my name until the 1st. At least my Volts are topped off and charged. lol

I'm so sorry to hear it. This seems to be happening to a lot of us. I'm dreading when my turn comes. Two places I've done business with informed me that they had been compromised, and I've been alert, but so far, I seem to have escaped. These were not vaping businesses, so don't worry about that, folks.

Thank you for this Rosepetal )
OK, I know we're just defending each other, but I think we really need to stop picking on Jay. He's just starting out, and is probably having a rough time at it - as we all know after all, nic withdrawals can be a PITA. We can keep retaliating against each other all day long, but the LACK of all that stuff is what makes this community fun, at least for me.

Jay, I'd like to apologize for my part in any of this. You really are welcome here, and we really would like to help. But when asking questions, please keep in mind that, unlike most other communities, we actually have gotten quite freakishly close-knit here, and tend to be like bears protecting their baby cubs when some posts come off as harsh, attacking, on the offensive, or disrespectful, even if unintentional.

...and I'm a refugee from V2 as well. Don't blame you for wanting to research alternatives. ;)
And +1 for me on not getting tethered. I opted to spend my money on more batts instead of the passthrough, because I never seem to stay put long enough to be "plugged in" all the time. I have 5 now. That's more than enough to get me through the day (even when I chain vape) and I charge them all at once on a powered USB hub before I go to bed. And YMMV, but it took me 6 months to "break even." But now that my gear is all set up, I only spend $30-50 a month on e-liquid and cartos (which I clean and reuse like a madwoman) - saving over $100 a month compared to analogs. It's tough at first, but stick to it - better for your health, better for your kids' health, etc. Good luck! :)

best thing to do is get a prepaid for online shopping or use a bank that has a good refund on fraud policy...

Konstantine,
Yes, I remember your posting of pics of the little gadget we need to go between (USB thing?)
From that pic, I could fix mine if I needed to, and save postage back, bothering SI. An at home fix works out quite well in that case.
...and I have a bunch of little tools, LOL! ;)
I'm not sure if SI repairs them, they just replace because it's cheaper for a company to do so.

He has been invited. Wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he is lurking out there. lol He has been my doc since I was a kid, and I just adore this man. If he ever retires I will just die!! He has been trying to get me to quit smoking for years. We have tried everything to include Chantix. OMG that was its own nightmare. I cannot believe that stuff is still on the market. LOL

So when I went to him last week and told him I hadn't smoked in over a month, he didn't believe me. I showed him my Volts. and when I back back in on a few days later to do the bloodwork he whips an e-cig from his shirt pocket. Yeah, it was awesome! lol

Absolutely! We can't have some good conversation without our Volts being fully charged!
We need to get this doctor over here in Voltville, sounds like he'd be quite popular! :vapor:

grrrrrrrrr just found out my credit card # has been stolen and used!!!!
5 charges made to it the day after I used it to pay for the e-file on my taxes. :(

Mine was used online about a week ago too! I miraculously caught it while they were using it since I just felt like checking my bank account online! They bought $69.00 in iTunes! I never use that site so my bank refunded my money thank goodness! i think it's because I make a lot of online purchases all over the place and don't check if the sites are secure or not!

Technical guru? HAH! I have a little knowledge but not a lot of practical skill, a dangerous combination. I just happen to have more time than money right now so I thought I would give the repair angle a shot. :)

I have no old Cartos

You will, my friend, you will! :)

Ok guys let's try and give this all a fresh start.

Sounds good to me. I was going to say let me make the first effort but Cindy beat me to part of it. Jay1, I re-read your posts on the first thread and see you have a handicapped child you take care of 24/7 and your purpose in changing to vaping was to try to save the family money. My neice had a severly handicapped son she took care of for 26 years until his departure. My heart goes out to you and I know first hand what it's like . I also read your apologies on that thread. Let me share the love here if you will. If Imagine can figure out a way to cordinate it information wise for both of us or we can work out the details between us it would be a blessing to me to buy that Volt passthrough and wall adaptor on behalf of all the Volties in this forum. No strings or conditions whatsoever. Let me know.
