We called them "manic depressive". My daughter avoided jail, but not other institutional facilities. She's doing well now though, and I'm extremely proud of her.

And Raynes said it before I did!

as weird as it sounds, my daughter got her BEST care in jail,,,,,,,,,they force them to take meds in jail, and the law didn't allow me to force her,,,,,,,,,,,,I'm only her mother and she was only 14 years old.

Lexi looks quite a bit like Bo. I think the Mastiff breeds all have some loose skin though just to provide enough room for movement, stretching. Bo's a little bigger though, 160 pounds. (gotta show him off)

She's still got loose skin to grow into yet. She was a rescue dog. They were feeding her bread and green beans (not the rescue). When I first got her, her ribs were obvious and her spine looked like a mountain range. She still eats very little (only four or five cups a day) but she's kind of a comatose dog (most mastiffs are). Lexi is beautiful! *YAY! Perfect excuse to post her picture again. tee hee*

She is beyond beautiful Rave she really is. What a great story to with a happy ending for both of you.

LOL I'm a psych nurse Holly. I can only imagine the hell you went through with a teenager that is bipolar. The main thing is she has her head together, has insight into her illness and takes her meds. Right now we have one that is 76yrs old who still has no insight into her illness. One of the nicest ppl you would ever want to meet when she takes her meds. Off of them she is the devil incarnate.

oh lord, it WAS hell!!!!! if you're a psych nurse, you know,,,,,,,the end was the night I found her standing over my bed with a knife.

I had a triple lock installed on my door that night and slept with the TV in front of the door (DH worked nights, so I was alone),,,,,,

shudder. that's what put her in jail and they wouldn't let her out for 9 months,,,,,

but it's like night and day since she got treatment and takes her meds,,,,,,as mean as it sounds (she's an adult now) it's our rule for living here,,,,,,no meds, no living here. I was so grateful that DH made that rule,,,,,

Because it's a realllly great story! My daughter is bi-polar too. I can relate.

I read a book by Patty Duke wherein she recounts her struggle with bi-polar disorder. The sad thing for her was that she went many years undiagnosed. It was an interesting and informative read.

I agree with Rave,aye-ayes are cute. They remind me of Ferbies

Yep - you're a true animal lover.

My son got me a Furby for Christmas years ago. I used to put him in the pantry to shut him up. A few minutes later, from behind the closed pantry doors, I would hear "Hmmm - boring!" I also took him on the road with me once just for grins. He was in the passenger seat when another vehicle tried to occupy the same space that I was currently occupying - thus attempting to defy the laws of physics. Furby rolled out of the seat on the floor exclaiming "Whoooa!! Me scared! Worried! Wa!" I couldn't even get annoyed at the other driver after that.

Speaking of duds: I got my Nano's yesterday. Never did warm up to the CE3's. Out of the 11 Nano's that I ordered, 9 of them are really nice. The 2 black ones that I got slowly, but surely dumped all of their nicquid into my batteries. One of those batteries was one of the original unsealed autos from well over a year ago. The other was sealed. Both batteries may or may not be dead. We shall see. I don't have the ambition or energy to read the entire Nano thread. I'll call or email CS. Very annoying to say the least.

I hate that happened Rave. Guess I'm a stick in the mud person but I prefer the basic black cartos. Hopefully your batteries aren't ruined

Well I am reduced to posting from my phone and reading this is giving me a headache. Our club house got robbed last night and I'm just hanging around waiting on the cops so I can give them a list of missing stuff. One bike several firearms and all of the liquor and beer. This is not how I had my Friday planned.

I didn't know that Patty Duke was bipolar. Ironic, considering the premise of the Patty Duke Show. :?:

We need a "sympathize" button. That just plain old sucks! Hope they catch the perps and maybe you can use that mug handle for some attitude adjustment time.
