From what I read and heard from SI folks this morning, the Hoboken store may have been impacted. Imagine was in the area and was affected as well by the flooding but not in any physical danger. Fortunately the SI plant was not affected. The lovely Cookiemonster is our SI host on the forum for a few days filling in until Imagine can resurface and reconnect. If there was any flooding damage at the Hoboken store, I'm sure that will be her first priority to attend to. Here's hoping it isn't that bad.

Absolutely, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for our "family" over at the NJ store - I haven't heard anything about it, only that Imagine is currently stuck in a flood, but she is alright. :)
Don't be shy to ask any questions, I'll gladly help out - hopefully I'm a good substitute for a few days.

I'm keeping everyone on the east coast in my thoughts, and here's to hoping that everything will go back to "normal" (what is normal these days anyway?) very soon for you all!

Yes she is- I think I just blew your mind with that one.
I've only got to see pictures of the Hoboken store, but it looks really nice! I'm a bit jealous.

 WHAT ! ! ! "Imagine" is in Hoboken ? ? ?

 OH - This I have got to see . . . :)

Maybe I'll do a drive by and take a Picture as I leave NYC . . .

I haven't been sick since before 2004. That's an advantage of having MS. My immune system won't let anything survive for longer than a day.

Sorry, I didn't know. I have a good friend with MS and she has it real bad, it breaks my heart because we grew up together and , well, it just it does. Feel better sweetie...

Thanks for the updates. Praying everyone in Sandy's path stays safe. I have to get ready for work,I'm thinking of you all.
Moonstruck GREAT news about your sister !!!

TY, Raynes -- my family has been down the cancer road many times. I survived bone cancer and was once incorrectly diagnosed with breast cancer (sometimes that happens).

I've been talking to friends/relatives in the midwest and south all morning, and everyone has survived the storm. Some got some pretty bad property damage, but they all made it thru without injury.

Hope everyone here has survived Sandy. It looks like Manhattan and many other areas are going to be underwater for awhile yet.

Rave, sorry to hear about your MS. That can be really tough sometimes. My rheumie went back & forth between MS & lupus for years with me, then finally decided I had lupus. I have friends here in Colorado with MS and second cousins in Indiana with lupus. Both are awful.

I hardly ever get the normal sicknesses like colds or flu. Mine is usually kidney infections; at other times it's just constant pain or weird neurological symptoms like burning or pins/needles. But I'm still walking and haven't been hospitalized for years, so I'm not complaining. Sure hope you feel better, and soon.

JoAnn, WELCOME! Glad to see you made it over from the Newbies thread. We have fun here, and yup, we are animal lovers (well, some are just animals I guess, but I won't go there right now). Just be careful what you say about monkeys. Or sheep. :D

I've seen a lot of horse people use WD40 and I've even seen some folks use it for arthritis. I just can't get past the fact its WD40 I guess. I wonder if that WD40 worked as a fly repellent to

My dad uses it to kill ants, which are on a flat surface. It probably would, but I can't imagine spraying it into air...might kill me too!

Aw, thanks. I was hoping someone would remember. I've been lurking, making sure everybody's OK...

Sorry we missed it, Cindy! Happy Belated Birthday!

Sitting down, facing forward.
I hope you're feeling better, Rave. I got a nap and felt better after that. I know it probably won't help you much but sure wish it would.

Hoboken is right on the Hudson River, the PATH trains go through the tunnel to lower Manhattan from Hoboken, so it's kind of at river height. I don't know the town well and hope that the SI store was high enough to avoid the storm surge and flooding it brought. Imagine sounds like she needs a generator and sump pump, post haste! It seems everyone came through it basically OK, though.

Driving around a little today makes me realize how lucky we were here in the middle of NJ. The shore is really devastated and the towns along the Deleware are still having flooding problems. What's going on up around the North Jersey and New York areas boogles the mind. You know, if you build anything, a house, a business, a bridge, a power plant or anything else close to a river or the ocean it's bound to get flooded and suffer damage sometime. It's just a question of time. As a kid I remember the storm of '54 and how the houses along the shore got wiped out. It always amazed me that people would build right back there, where the ocean will, eventually, have its way with the land. I've always looked for a higher spot just for that reason but I do understand the desire to be near the water, river or creek, or ocean.

Oh hey - I'm fine everybody. It's amazing what a soak in a Jacuzzi and a bowl of split pea soup can accomplish. :)

My heart goes out to everyone with damage. I had to quit watching the Weather Channel cuz it was just breaking my heart. Blues thinks they'll be cleaning up debris for the rest of the week, and he has a lot of people helping.

Moonstruck - I'm still walking, although I wasn't back in 2004. I was told that I shouldn't count on getting out of that wheelchair. I generally require three legs to navigate, but I figure, if most critters can walk with four legs then I can manage with three. I have a whole laundry list of neuro symptoms, but there aren't any so far that can keep me from hiking these woods. I'm on SS disability - so I won't complain. It's the folks that have to continue to work with a disability that I feel bad for.

A Little SURPIRSED that she is in the area - YES :D

Oh I have been by the store when it first opened, but not inside since no one was there :(

However, given that I have to leave very early tomorrow morning to get to the Philadelphia Airport - I'll have to pass going :(

Maybe - Next time ? ? ? ? We'll see . . .:)
