Enjoying a lazy day at home with the pup. Today is my first day of furloughs and instead of doing chores I'm sitting here in my pj's, vaping, drinking my water, listening to some great jazz, and playing on the computer! Yea me! I hope everyone is enjoying their day as much as I am! :)

Right with you all the way except... not water... oh no!!! Oh yeah!!!! ;)

We're home safe. Somehow, we managed to avoid any bad weather, and the roads were clear nearly all the way home. Just as I suspected, the roads were a little slushy, but salted and plowed, after Whitney Point nearly to Ithaca. That's a snow belt here, and weather is always iffy along that section of Rt. 79. In fact, that band of snowier weather is why they built a ski slope, Greek Peak, along it, though to the north from where we passed through it. Here in T-burg, there's about a foot of snow on the ground, and I had to shovel our front steps before we could unload stuff from the car and take it in. My cat, Tom, gave us the usual loud lecture about abandoning him for days, but he was just fine physically. And he has already calmed down about us deserting him. It was fun visiting, but I agree with Bill, who just said to me, "It's nice to be home."

Glad you made it home safely SandySu. :)

If an X2 won't work unless the cap is off, check the cap end carefully. There are two small holes 180 degrees apart that allow air flow to activate the automatic switch. If they get clogged with anything, like pocket lint for example, the battery just won't fire. These holes are quite small and are sort of square shaped. You'll need to look for them crefully. Use a needle or something equally small to clean them. I will say the last X2-650 I bought, about two months ago, does have some "flash" from the plating step around the end cap that can interfere with air flow. In that case I used a Dremel, high speed hand grinder, to clean it up.

I have noticed on my X2 650s that the newer ones seem to have smaller holes for the airflow. When the rainbows came out, I got one that had the holes in the wrong place so it wouldn't fire at all with the cap on, at least that is what Heather thought. It was apparently using the hole for the charge plug to get air with the cap off? SI replaced it right away. Lately my replacement is also giving me trouble, sometimes not firing on the first try, sometimes cutting off mid draw. I haven't ordered any autos since then, went to manuals. But the 3 autos I had before the rainbows all have the slightly bigger sized square air holes.

JAZZ!!!!!!! That would drive me to drink, lol:toast:

I'm not usually a jazz listener either....but that was very good. It was the link that Kon posted a couple pages back, I think. I enjoyed it very much. It played while I was browsing the threads. Made for a very nice relaxing afternoon in the forum. :)

I did some googling, lol, gotta love google...came upon Ice fog - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Doesn't sound fun at all Lizzie, but I bet it looks beautiful?

Here's what it looks like. It's absolutely amazing. One winter day I went to the barn to visit Penny, and about halfway between my house and the barn, it started. The whole world was silver, all the trees, fences, etc. with what must have inspired tinsel on Christmas trees. I was blown away, and got my camera out and spent the next hour or so taking pictures. These are close-ups, because I thought you'd want to see the amazing texture of the crystals more than just trees in white gauze.

On another forum thread this was mentioned. One suggestion is release the button on the manual right before you finish inhaling to prevent the vapor from turning back into liquid, which will run down the airtube and settle on the battery post. That is one of the reasons that using the manual is better than the auto. If I'm using an auto, I inhale very lightly to gather the vapor that is still visible in the mouthpiece so that it won't settle back down.

I ordered SI's T3's on Friday and received them on Monday. Amazing! I really have a love/hate relationship with these things. Love the flavor and vapor... HATE the airiness! Way too airy! I have two holes plugged and will put my finger over the 3rd hole for a couple of hits but it will get hot so I take my finger off for a few hits. If all three holes are totally blocked, there can be a slight burnt taste. Also, I really REALLY hate that BIG BABY BOTTLE NIPPLE! I ordered six T3's and six replacement heads. Not sure if I'll get any more at this point.

Oh one more thing, be very careful if you are adding more liquid and there is still some in it. When removing the coil head, some liquid in the coil assembly can run down the airtube creating gurgling. Hold the T3 at an angle letting the liquid drain down before unscrewing and wipe the inner tube off before screwing back on. Ok... this is a long response to your short comment about condensation... sorry.

I am using the T3s now and so far I really like them, but i know what you mean about the juice leaking when u unscrew them, thanks for that tip.

I complain, laugh and joke about the cold but in all honesty, it's nowhere as bad as further north and west. The weather in those areas is brutal, especially now! I pray that SandySu and her family as well as all others who are traveling make it safely home.

Thanks. We're home safe, and it seems we missed any storms. Lots of snow when we got home, but it's all already on the ground. I think they must have had a very white Christmas up here.

This is the time of the year that would b good to b back in Texas, but NOOOO they r getting snow too!!! My son still lives there.

Bet it's still more warmer there most of the time than Michigan. It's pretty...the snow and all...but don't like the cold. I could live without winter. But I guess the snow is good for the lakes, too....or so everyone tells me.

It amuses me that we talk a lot about sucking on the positive end of a battery ! , but, it appears we are actually concerned about each other, our pets, and life in general. I saw where a lot of you have tried the T3s. I have been waiting for "opinions" because at first I avoided the Nano's, then the 2nd gen came out and when I tried them I find they are quite acceptable. I still prefer cartos for full flavor and vapor. I am thinking I will either build a box mod, or try the new VAMO, but I really don't think I need VW only VV. Do any of you have a VAMO? (Bamboo etc.). I would like an opinion from our little group.

Thanks for the steak sandwich tip, Uncle. I'll have to try that one. Isn't Delaware Ave. called something else now? I can never remember what its new name is, though. It's been Delaware Ave. most of my life.

Here are some interior shots of the Magic Garden.

For anyone curious about this fantastical creation that you can walk through and marvel at all the details and ask yourself, "What does that mean?" here's some info. Isaiah Zagar - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As for steak sandwiches elsewhere than South Philadelphia, I spent most weekends of my teenage years eating lunch at Delessandro's on Henry Ave. near Walnut Lane in Roxborough. There's also great steaks at Pizza City on Willow Grove Ave. in Wyndmoor, just outside the city limits and near Chestnut Hill. And when I lived in the Bay Area, I found an excellent place in San Francisco, believe it or not! The owners, a couple from Philly, moved there and decided SF needed to learn the wonders of Philly steaks! I was overjoyed to see an old friend on the West Coast, so far from home. I think that place was a small store on Columbus Ave.

I hope you don't Lizzie! Had never heard of anything like this before. After reading about it, it's really scary! Do you keep Wiseguy in a barn or protective enclosure? It's good that he has a very thick coat!

Horses need some shelter, but less than you'd imagine. They like it colder than humans do, and they suffer much more in the heat of summer than they do in the cold of winter. Many times, I've gone to the barn when it's snowing rather heavily to see all the horses out in the pasture, not in their shelters, with snow mounding on their backs. They don't seem to care. Of course, if you work your horse hard in winter, and he gets sweaty, then you have to be careful to get him dry before turning him out, and if you decide to clip off his winter coat, he needs a blanket to protect him from the cold. But a healthy horse that's used to the climate and who has a good winter coat, can stand a lot of cold. Even horses like Penny who don't get as shaggy as ponies have a good, thick coat in winter. It's waterproof, too, unless they get totally soaked. I worry more when it's borderline freezing with a cold rain than I do when it gets really cold and it's just snow.

Hello - had a great Christmas. Lots of food and drink. On the subject of dehydration, I have been drinking French merlot for the last 3 days. I don't know if this stops dehydration but I can say that if you drink this you won't notice if you are dehydrated. BTW - not three days solid of course. Three days with breaks for eating as well.
Weather not fantastic here - overcast and some rain thanks to the tail end of cyclone Evan. Rave - such beautiful photos you posted. Just gorgeous. So glad you heard something from Bluesman,

Gotta go - checked in on some threads to help folk out and checked in here to say hi.

You probably should drink even more water if you're drinking alcohol, since that dehydrates you, too.
