Well, heading to work. But did just put in another order with WL for another 500ml of 18mg base juice. Gonna start stocking up.

Don't see how they could stop the flavors themselves from being sold. So, need to stock up on some hardware particularly T3's.

Have a great day!

Mark

Just did the same thing. Since I really do not "need" any hardware, I thought I would continue kicking myself in the .... making terrible tasting juice

I ordered Dark tobacco Base, Double Chocolate, Waffle, Strawberry and Orange flavorings direct from The Perfumers Apprentice, and since they do not sell Nic Base, I had to go back to Wizard Labs to purchase 250 ML of my PG with nic.

I am getting closer to some good vapes. Peanut Butter (sent as a sample) with chocolate is tasty, but that is why I bought the Double Chocolate, and Peach is also quite good, but I think I need to add a hint of Orange.

I am still thinking about a Vamo, but the prices with shipping keep getting higher as they become popular. I need to win the Lotto and buy a ProVari.

The one thing that gets me about stacked battery mods are the instructions that tell you to check the voltages with a volt meter after the batteries are charged to make sure the voltage is not too high. I had to scratch my head at that. Yes, the batteries are cheaper, but I really don't want the hassle of checking voltages.

The other thing is if you drop one of those batteries on the floor, it could render it useless. They are not constructed very well and have very few safety features built in like a typical battery.

See? That's what I'm talking about. I'm not trying to be an electrician. That stuff sounds too complicated to me. I just want to vape! The most advanced I want to go is maybe raise and lower the voltage a little, not a lot, to get the flavor right. I'll just take extra care of the hardware that I have now. Maybe adding a couple more as finances allow.

One thing I did pick up on was it can be dangerous to "stack" batteries. You really have to know what you are doing with mods. I remember reading about a Florida man had a stacked battery mod that exploded in his face. That was scary to read. Of course it made the news as "an electronic cigarette exploded in a man's face" They then proceeded to say electronic cigarettes are not safe. I believe you can find the story doing a google search. It happened about a year ago.

In that particular case, according to what I've heard about it anyway, the guy was using batteries he bought from Radio Shack. They have no overcurrent protection and there was none built into the PV. So, when he started hitting it hard the batteries overheated and bam. He also may have been using non-matching batteries which is a hazard with any device that uses more than one, like a flashlight for example. Keep in mind a battery, even an AA battery, can put out many tens of watts for a few seconds. When that happens they get hot, really hot, and can rupture, violently.

Funny that SI has not posted any warnings about their products. I tend to charge mine at night and when I awake to use the bathroom, I check the blue lights. If they are out, I turn off the charger, if not I let it charge. My X2s tend to need 6 to 8 hrs to charge.

I totally agree! I have some training in electronics, but it's been years. I picked up a cheap voltmeter at Harbor Freight for 2 bucks. I have been playing with it. But, I don't want to pull it out to test batteries. I like to plug the device into the USB or wall socket. I don't want to have to take the batteries out and put them in a separate charger. While it may give a much better vaping experience, it's just too much work for me!

I see some sites selling the charging bags and I'm thinking about picking one up. I've seen a few threads on the forum about batteries sparking, overheating and sometimes catching on fire. I usually put my batts in a pyrex dish when I charge. I don't go to sleep with them charging either. A freight train could run through my home while I'm asleep and I wouldn't wake up! I do this with all devices, not just my X2's. Food for thought!

I did a lot of monitoring SI batteries when I got started vaping. The X2 shuts down completely, no current flow at all, when the charge light goes out. The 65 and 78mm batteries both continue to draw about 10ma after the charge light goes out. Whether that 10ma is overhead of the charger circuit or is trickle charging the battery I can't say with any certainty. Given that trickle charging a lithium based battery is a bad idea, it will ruin the battery, getting them off the charger as quickly as possible when the charge light goes out is probably a good idea for battery health.

There is also the hazard of batteries, any kind of rechargeable, going defective while being charged and causing a problem, as in possibly a fire. This doesn't seem to happen often, thankfully, but it has happened and has the potential to be catastrophic. All that said, I get my 78mm batteries off the charger as soon as I see the charge light is out. I don't worry about X2s since they do shut down fully. I also lave my laptop plugged in all the time at night, lithium battery there, and all kinds of other things plugged in and charging while asleep or not home.

Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it. Your results and mileage may vary. No warranty or guarantee is expressed or implied.

I've seen comments here on ECF that charging bags just burn through. The heat involved can be quite high, as in over 500 degrees, and if it explodes it'll just blow the bag apart. Somebody here in Chit Chat said they used a cast iron pot with a lid, now that will do the trick!

I use to use different brands of AA batteries as long as they were new... then learning later that you can't do that either. Somewhere on this forum I read that. I did that in flashlights, remotes, smoke detectors... until I realized that was very dangerous to do. Now I make sure to change all the batteries, using identical batteries. Also read somewhere on here that you should use a charging bag to put anything that you are charging in it for added protection. I haven't gotten one though. I just make sure that I charge only while I'm home, while I'm awake... checking on it occasionally. I've mainly been using my SI power pack to charge my volts and twists. The volts take much longer to charge than the twists. Why is that?... but I love using that thing. It has a built in cut off but I still keep an eye on it.

Dogs can be complete vegetarians. Cats on the other hand do require some meat additives. Whisper still gets some chicken treats, but not very much. Her diet is mainly veg. I do supplement her diet with vitamins for her skin condition, but not really for nutrition.

My Italian greyhound has allergies too, he's basically allergic to the outside (grass, mold, pollen, etc). Right now he's on hypoallergenic dog food, Claritin, and an immuno suppressant. I totally understand the itchy puppy thing.

You're not alone, JoAnn. I GOT to have one too, but I'll get a 650. Deciding on a color is hard, just hope I don't go crazy and get more than one right now.

Wabbit's idea about an all mechanical PV is a good one though. I have been checking them out and plan to get one to add to my two wood box mods......just in case. Batteries and chargers will always be available for them. Now to make decisions about how much joose to hoard. lol

I love my reo's

The charge time is related to how much current the battery is "given" by the charging circuit. While we all want things in a hurry, like now or even yesterday, when it comes to batteries a little slower is generally better. The higher the current used for charging the more internal heating inside the battery itself can cause degradation of the chemicals that actually produce the power. In the case of the Twist versus the X2 I'd guess the X2 will outlast the Twist in terms of charging cycles.

Our dog, Bo, had a stomach problem bad enough that we had to take him to the vet. The vet, besides some medications, told us he had to have this special dog food that was mainly corn based, only available from vets, sold by him and really expensive. He was allergic to that stuff and got so itchy it was getting to the point of wearing off his coat. Needless to say we went back to a more traditional meat based food and he's fine. We also found another vet.

A part of the Min Pin's heritage is Italian Greyhound. Hmmmm, wonder if it's a breed anomaly? Or just bad luck where we live. I never, ever suffered from allergies until I moved to the central valley of California. And I've lived around the world! So, it's probably our geographical area that causes Whisper and my allergies.

im not sure if this is right...but cause im always having troubles with the lights going out..and its not cords...I have 14 cords they cant all be bad...I clean the points...done all advice..so the last week im finding this is working better..ill charge x2s for no more than 5hrs.....let them sit off for 2....then on again for 2 to 3 hrs..im actually seeing the lights go out now...so I feel much safer doing that....also the charge seems to last longer while vaping...

What ever works for you with the X2 is a good solution. You won't hurt them by incrementally charging them and, in fact, that may extend their useable life, number of times they can be recharged, for some vague reasons related to the chemical reactions inside the battery itself.

Started back on page 1932 to get caught up with this thread. Wow, busy today! Hope everyone is happy & sassy. ;)

Speaking of weed killer - any non GMO food that is grown with Monsanto seeds have roundup (yes, that weed killer stuff in your garage) in them. Most corn crops have been grown with Monsanto seed. So anything with corn type products (there are thousands) has a good chance that there is a minute bit of roundup in it. Think about that the next time you look at an ear of corn!

It's been cold here in Nor Cal. Lots of pipes bursting on the news.

Glad your DIY stuff is working! I'm not much of an apple pie fan. If you run across a good cherry pie juice recipe, please pass it on! I see that Wizard Labs aren't taking orders right now and they are planning a move and won't be filling orders during that time frame :( I have checked out some different sites and busy making a shopping list of DIY stuff.

I love the TFA apple pie flavor, but the cheesecake not so much. The taste is horrid, and it stinks (literally). I posted about it here:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ple-pie-yummy-tfa-cheesecake-not-so-much.html

But I really cannot complain -- I've now made around 15 successful juices. So yeah, I plan to stock up on nic solution in light of the FDA worries.

So, I've made progress in my short vaping journey. I was in a meeting today that lasted over 2 hours. When I used to smoke, I would be clock watching after 30 minutes to know how much time I had to wait for my next smoke. A meeting that long would be excruciating to sit through and I would lose my concentration easily with my mind drifting off to how I needed a cigarette fix.

Today, I sat in the meeting and didn't even look at the clock. I actually thought about my new twist sitting at home once, and it didn't make me jittery thinking I needed to vape. I dismissed the thought and set my mind on the meeting again. I didn't get the "crazies" from not vaping during that meeting and could have gone longer.

I'm really starting to see the benefits of vaping. And best of all, it was so nice to not smell like a filthy ashtray in a meeting of non smokers!

Big congrats! The same thing happened to me after the 1st few months of vaping. Now when I have to go somewhere, even for long periods of time, I don't even think about it.

ok guys you have shared your health issues...ok ill tel you mine...when mum was prego wth me...she nearly lost me...4 times...at 2mths...bad car accident...5mths house fire a lamp fell over...lucky to get out alive. 7mths had a bad fall in bath tub..when I was born cord was wrapped around my neck...air was cut to right side of my brain..doctors told mum.only a min...or so...your daughter would be mentaly ......ed...but there was trouble for me in my early days...I could never learn stuff right at school...I cant study well my brain shuts down...I had cat scans...there is times my brain shuts down...doctors told mum...im am what they call boader line...which makes it hard...so that's why im very bad at spelling...I cant do things to quick...I have panic attacks...so learning this comp stuff...is so hard for me...sorry to go on...but that's life have to deal with the cards where dealt with...and as my magic nan said...there will always be people better and worse then ourselves...its our journey in this life

Your nan is absolutely right! It really doesn't matter much what our limitations are ... as long as we are persistent in discovering our talents. :2c:

Here's a photo that everyone seems to like a lot. Maybe it'll cheer everyone up. Yes, I played with the colors a bit -- the sunset was actually more subtle -- but everyone says "Wow!" when they see it.

IMG_0266_zps938a90a6.jpeg

And it deserves a wow ... so WOW !!!!!

My ugly mug is on my profile page.

JoAnn, you are beautiful. I especially love your eyes ... and you have a wonderful smile!

I do understand, though. I only have my baby picture on my profile page.

The lady is out of the wall. They used soapy water and lots of wiggling to get her out. Still no word on exactly how she got in there in the first place.

Well, I hope she wasn't hurt. but I can't help it ... what the h*ll was she thinking :headbang:

Tell me about it. I have spent thousands of dollars on my pets. When I was laid off in 2003, I kept up with my 3 dogs health care. I didn't continue the expensive cobra for me, but I made sure they were taken care of.

I had an epileptic dog that I would spend over $200 a month on her meds to try to keep her comfortable. Whisper was bit by a wolf spider and had to have some surgery to remove some of the necrosis. A big line of skin died from her front leg all the way to her rear end on her left side. I'd only had her for 3 months when that all happened.

My pets are my family and treated as such!

My pets are precious and only get the best food and quality care. Me, I haven't been to the dr. since I quit working. Not old enough for Medicare, turned down for Medicaid, and can't afford private insurance. I'll be eligible for Medicare in 3 more years, though.

Wow, another photographer in our midst! Thanks for posting this Kico ... great pic!

Me for one. Call me crazy... call me weak... but I GOT to have one... 900mah. Purple or red but leaning toward red. My 4th month analog-free anniversary and my upcoming birthday gift to myself.

I ordered the iGo Revolver from Nhaler before the SI announcement. I got it today. I am in vaping heaven -- my juices just pop now in various clearos at at 4.1 volts -- better flavor, good TH & loads of vapor. So I'm sure I'll be springing for another one from SI. I need to find me a sugardaddy (just kidding).

My X2's take forever to charge as well. I've found that if I use the car setup, they charge much quicker. I've also found that if the batt sits on the wall charger for over 6 hours, I flip the plug over and viola, the charging light goes out within an hour. I think sometimes it needs a break from the electricity and then it finishes charging. Which way the plug goes into the wall shouldn't matter, but it works for me!
