There's nothing to talk about, unless Raven is here to lead us.
Good morning, Tina and good morning, Wabbit.
I'm retired too, Wabbit, but I was forced into a very early retirement, because of health problems.
Just noticed another GREAT thing about this forum - It has numerous foreign language sections. I have struggled all my life with Spanish and recently purchased the Pimsleur Spanish Quick and Simple course on CD. I visited the Spanish section today and struggled, but I can actually pick up a lot of the conversations. Using the web, you can also have a separate window open for Spanish to English translations which are excellent. I am having a great time and learning a lot more vocabulary at the same time. Just goes to show you are never too old to learn new things.
Wabbit -- Adios amigos!
I got my long hair cut when I broke my arm, and I couldn't reach back to fasten the hair clip. I hadn't had a haircut in about 25 years! I donated the long hair to Locks of Love. Now I like short hair, so I'm keeping it that way. I was fortunate to find a good haircutter in town, just a few blocks away. I asked a friend who had a haircut I liked and got the name of this place. It's a shop run by 2 women, and I get the same one every time.
After the haircut, I spent some time in the library, which is across the street from the hair salon. I haven't volunteered there much recently, and I've been feeling guilty about that. I made a resolution to go more often.

Can you tell the difference?
I moved three large clumps of grass from the new improved much larger pond area and put them in by the east side of the back yard along the fence..
Those three clumps of grass turned into four clumps of grass because the one clump was so big I couldn't even move it with the hand truck. The grasses were so big and heavy, I got the hand truck out to move them.
I started out so early the shadows were long in the first photo and now they are short shadows
I also had to reconfigure the drip system to put the grasses on drippers. While I was out there I reconfigured some of the trees as well. That whole set of drippers was sort of a mess. Now it makes a lot more sense. I didn't quite finish getting the whole area reconfigured but it is 91 degrees out and I am tired so I will see what I can do to finish it up later. At least the grasses got some water before I had to go back to watering the veggie garden. We can only water one zone at a time.

What the heck?!?!
Can't I leave you guys alone without everyone scattering to the four winds? Who will entertain me with stories of their lives and who am I supposed to tell all of my boring adventures to? And, most importantly: Who will make me coffee in the morning?!
Alas, I am bereft. An unmanned (or unwomanned) Voltville since 1:39 PM. 'Tis a sad, sad thing ....
*overly dramatic sigh*
On the bright side:
My neurologist was tickled pink about my progress. He says that my legs and arms seem stronger. They darned well ought to be with the way I've been working out!! He didn't try to talk me into drugs that I don't need, and only wants to see me every six months now.

That sucks, Jerry! I think 42 is too early for me to consider myself retired, but I'm on disabilty. *sigh*
My walker came in today! I'm happy! It is smaller, with a regular-sized seat. Hubby didn't think I'd fit in it, but I proved him wrong! It's a pretty blue color and my cat, Farley, approves of it! He was sitting on it the whole time it was in the house! LOL! At least I know it'll fit through doorways, as it fit through ours.
Hope everyone has a nice evening!
Life isn't fair, Tina. I had a great job in a bank and a promising future. Then everything started to fall apart for me and by the age of 23, I just couldn't do it anymore, so I went on disability, too. I left my job, the day before I turned 24 and it was the worst day of my life.
I'm sorry that happened to you too, Tina.![]()

I'm on disability too, Tina. Congrats on the new walker!!![]()
You are too modest.........boss.Pffft! Lead you? That would be about as useful as a rudderless ship!![]()
It sucks, but I deal. Sounds like you do, too. I went out at the age of 31. I was working at a General Motors plant when I started falling apart. I'm going to school now, and hope that losing weight will help so that I can get a knee replacement. Not sure if I could handle working with others again, due to my PTSD, though. I'm hoping so, as I will have student loans to pay off!![]()

Nonsense, pure nonsense. Hmpf !!!!!Oh goodness no. I'd stink as a boss or a leader of any sort. But ... thank you.![]()
I hope that you can feel well enough to get back to work too, Tina. Believe in yourself, and things will happen.![]()
