Ssshhhh....maybe not....we thought so too before...

I was doing everything I could to bite my tongue and not say anything. I did really good. I just thought it was me being super sensitive or something since no one else was saying anything. So I did what I always tell my son to do.... walk away and vent later. LOL

Did you drop it? Sounds like what happened to my purple batt. Try shaking it thread-side down, like a thermometer. If that doesn't do anything, try tapping it gently, thread-side down, on a table top...unless it's still under warranty...

Oh gosh. didn't think of that. I would be devastated if one of mine quit working because I dropped it. OMG! How horrible!!

Yes you did, you did really good. That was my first instinct too. I could just tell it wasn't gonna end pretty...bad glad it did. :)

Knowing how careful SandySu is, she probably didn't. But there ARE, after all, electronics components in there. Best to be careful...

Thanks. I'll try that. I put it into my slider, which still seems to have a charge. I pressed the button for 4 seconds and probably then some -- I counted to 4 really slowly. Now it's in the slider, and the battery light is lit. What does that mean? Is it fully charged or charging? Before, I just stuck batteries in there and didn't look to see their satus, just thinking I;d have a fully charged battery when I wanted one. I bet it just needs recharging. I just put my green auto in the slider and did the same thing, and it's acting the same, light lit. I;ve used it, but it still as a charge. But I've used the manual more, so I think that may have just died. Believe it or not, this is the first time my battery has gone dead. I really think it ust be as simple as that.

BTW, no, I didn't drop it, but I did have it in the pouch I just bought for my vaping stuff, and I wonder if, like I feared, the button got pressed in there while it was riding around with me. From now on, I'll be more careful. I have some flimsy plastic cases that the original disposables I got came in, and putting it in one of those might protect it enough. I'll do that. Meanwhile, I have to look up what a battery looks like when it's charged in the slider. Or, to save me the trouble, anyone want to remind me? When the battery is charged, what does it do? Blink? Go out? right now, it's steadily lit.

The led at the end of the volt will go completely out when charged. Sounds like to me thats all that is wrong.

VENT:

I really dislike people who beg for free stuff and then get rude and mean when they don't get it. Guess what? The world does not revolve around you.

Okay.... done!!

Thanks!!

:?:

Those people drive me crazy too. I don't see why they don't understand that the world doesn't revolve around them--it revolves around me! It's just annoying.

is it a sealed auto? sounds like the switch is dead... usually that's due to liquid...

No, it's the 78 manual I've been using a lot lately, almost exclusively, when before, I kept a lot of the autos going. I think it must just need recharging, so I put it in the slider to recharge. If that doesn't work, I guess it just got too much use, and it's reached the end of its life. I really love my raspberry 78 manual, and I hope this won't be the end of it, but I'm still trying things to get it back to life.

I just looked, and in the slider, the LED is still lit. I hear these take hours to recharge, so I'll check it in the morning and figure out the next step if it doesn't work then. Luckily, I have lots of other batteries, hardly used, waiting in the wings. But they are all autos, and I got really attached to that manual. I guess I may have to make another purchase before another sale comes along!

No, I didn't drop it, but I wonder why you think of me as careful when I lost a bottle of cinnamon that still hasn't turned up. I swear it was eaten by a small black hole in my house! I've looked everywhere, and it's just not there. Thinking logically and rationally, I just can't figure out how a 10 ml bottle of juice could disappear like that. I looked under all the furniture, even in far-off rooms where it was unlikely to be.

Then again, I lost a turkey in my house some weeks ago. I bought a frozen turkey in the grocery store. My friend and I went shopping together in her car, and when we got to my house, she helped me unload my groceries into my house, onto my table near the door. I put everything away, but where was the turkey? I phoned my friend to see if it got left in her car. Nope. Well, I figured it must have been on the bottom of the grocery cart, and when we loaded the car, we left it there. I did that once with a 6-pack of soda. But some days later, I was fishing under that table by the door for shoes -- it's like a mudroom, by the door -- and I felt a plastic bag of something. What? I dragged it out, and it was the turkey! After days spent in a warm house, it obviously had to go straight into the trash. What a waste! If I can lose a turkey, a 10 ml bottle is no problem. But I'm not used to losing things, and this is scary -- twice in a month -- and it makes me wonder if I'm starting to lose it.

I haven't been able to figure out what comments you guys are talking about... point me at it? Or maybe a PM? Gawd I'm so nosy but apparently clueless at the moment.

Edit: nevermind, I found it. oy.

I still don't know what you're talking about, and it's probably better that way.
