No, I didn't. Figured it was my fault since I did put the Strawnana in them with the banana flavoring. Didn't even save them or ask if I could return them.

This sounds wrong. How can a company make a product that malfunctions when used with certain flavors of the product it's made for? I can't imagine having to wonder whether the e-juice I'm using will break my cartomizer. Till this glitch is worked out, I'll stick with plain old cartos! Maybe even after that, since they are proven to work fine. Sure, maybe some flavors gunk them up faster, but that doesn't seem quite the same as breaking them instantly.

In my opinion Tina, you should have at least asked - no harm in that. These are made for vaping, so you should be able to use the juice of your choice. Just my opinion. :)

I think I am going to try some of the xl cartos too. Are they on the site yet? I just got a mouthfull of juice from my clearo because I was turning it upside down to get the last few drops vaped. Well I got the last few drops, in my mouth! :(

I know, I know, I'm impossible to please. :)

I have gotten to where I just refill it when it gets down to the last mark on the clearo. I refill it the first time and rinse it out the second time it get to that point and start over...

I never have rinsed mine out. The juice also seems to get a little "syrupy" as it goes down. Has anyone else noticed this?

The Strawnana did that to me, but I haven't noticed it with the SI flavors I'm using (Mint and Chocolate) or the Cheesecake from ECBlend. I just dumped some chocolate in my mint and it's a good mix! Reminds me of Thin Mint cookies! LOL!

I've found that the orange from Highbrow gunks up cartos really quickly. Does anyone have any idea whether this liquid would work better in the clearos?

Based on trying a few different types of clearomizers, I think there are some common denominators (NOTE: These are general observations that won't hold true in all cases for all folks):

1) The thicker and/or darker the juice, the less well it will perform. That doesn't mean you can't use it in a clearo, just be prepared for it to possibly wick slower and make the clearo need cleaning sooner.

2) When performance starts degrading, syringe it out with HOT water thoroughly and let dry. Others more experienced than I have more information on cleaning clearomizers if you search for it.

3) If you try to vape them dry, you will get very mixed results toward the end. These results can vary from dry hits to loss of flavor to a drink of juice.

4) Some juices will thicken up as you vape them down in the clearo. Flavor may change. This is a function of the juice's suitability for clearomizers. See #1 and #3 above. :)

Hope it helps!

By the way, it's a beautiful patio day in Southern California and I have my .... in a patio chair, RY4 in the carto, ribs on the smoker, and Dos Equis in a frosty mug. I think everything is where it's supposed to be! ;)

I'm envious. We have snow in the forecast. Of course, at this time of year, it probably won't amount to much, but I really want spring weather, not the winter we missed.

I'm with you. I don't blame SI at all - they didn't invent these things, they are just selling them (remember the old mega PCC?) But I have more confidence in cartos right now. I get nervous every time I use the clearo.

Yeah, thinking about chemical reactions between the shell and the liquid is freaking me out a little too. Kinda like the thought of microwaving food in plastic containers (which I never do). Makes me kinda glad that I can't afford these things right now. Gen 2s are always better anyway, right? :)

But it looks to me like there are more liquids out there that work in these things than ones that don't. Just have to stay informed and do what we can to keep the list of what cracks these things updated I guess...but meanwhile, I'm glad I have guinea pigs to watch (haha, you guys).

I feel exactly the same. The thing that attracts me to Volts is that they are simple and discreet. These new, bigger e-cigs and clearomizers and all the other stuff just seems to be on the road toward mods. You know, bigger, better, weirder, more innovative, etc. Can I have become a vaping traditionalist so early in my venture into e-cigs?

I think we can can be whatever we want to be about what we like. :)

I've experimented some, but I like the straightforward performance you get from the X2 and cartomizers. A lot of beginners get recommendations for EGO/KGO devices, and these are probably very good suggestions. However, the regulated 3.6V on the X2 is a big selling point, and SI's customer service and responsiveness are second to none. I think the ideal setup for a beginner who wants the opportunity to begin and end with one PV would be a starter kit with:

X2 batteries (2): Option of color & size on both with PT/charging cable and 1.5A wall adapter
Cartomizers(5): Option of current SR or LR (2.0-2.2 ohm) (pre-filled) OR blanks plus 2 x 15 ml e-juice - selected flavor(s)

I think even more people would become SI customers for life (and a lot have already)!

I think they're very pretty! :)
They just have to work on more appropriate material now, for the awesomely colorful shells. Then they won't be so scary.
But I tell ya, if I win the Earth Day contest, I'm jumping right on in with the rest of you! (Ha, like THAT'll ever happen.) :)
