So - my son and his gal have decided to tackle cleaning out my late husband David's study. He's been gone over two years and I won't even go in there. It's not that it's a "shrine". I didn't like going in there when he was alive. It's just really, really messy. My husband was brilliant. He was not neat. There are trade-offs.

So this is what my son finds buried under some old bank statements:

Apollo.jpg

David was one of the engineers who was involved in developing the L.E.M. Unit (the lunar excursion module) for the Apollo mission. If it had been me, I woulda framed it not buried it away under financial papers. It will be framed now.

Wow! That's so impressive, I'm without words!

Now that is beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Rave, there are special ways to frame it to keep it from weathering. You can research it on Google or ask a professional framing shop for help. I know they have glass that protects from UV and stuff like that... Very nice find... I am sure you are proud...

Hiya Volties! The Dame's Rockets are in full bloom. The edges of the woods and all the clearings are full of them. They are pretty, but not native. It's a shame really. Hope everyone here had something pretty to enjoy today.

Semi - I was a professional wildlife artist for about 15 years, and have all of the archival components including UV resistant glass and PH neutral matboard and tapes that will be needed in my studio. They were used to frame my limited edited prints. That's convenient. :)

Of course he was brilliant - he married YOU ;-)

On a more mundane note, is anyone here going to Vapestock this coming weekend in Indian Rocks Beach? The hotel is booked but I really want to be there and would love to meet some of my fellow Volteurs

Wow, how cool is that? :)

An ex had a gold record (for the theme song to Ghostbusters 2) that was just sitting among clutter on his dresser. I don't get it either...
