Here's the lowdown on that quote. snopes.com: Mark Twain on Coldest Winter

I'm okay. If I'm lurking, I try to at least keep hittin' the "Likes" so folks will know that I'm still breathing.
Interestingly, I'm having an indirect vaping side effect. Because of vaping, I quit smoking almost three years ago. In no time at all, my BP meds had to be cut down quite a bit. Everything was fine and dandy on a much lower dose for quite awhile. Lately, I've been having trouble after I take my meds in the morning. It's been next to impossible to keep my eyes open because any horizontal surface calls to me. When I wake up, I feel better. Finally, I got my blood pressure cuff back from my daughter's custody. Yep - my blood pressure has been crashing again, but now it's on a daily all day basis. Yesterday, my pulse got all the way down to 47 - That's bradycardia. So, I've been slowly, carefully cutting down my remaining BP meds.
This is something that is very important for new vapers with high blood pressure to consider. PV's are not an efficient nicotine delivery system. You can vape low nic all day non-stop, and not get as much nicotine as you did when you were smoking. Your blood pressure can crash, and you can go into shock. If you begin to feel sleepy at inappropriate times or light-headed a lot or are having trouble focusing, you may want to invest in a simple blood pressure monitor or go to your doctor (better yet). It's something to keep an eye on because it could save your life. My first crash was almost exactly two weeks after I quite smoking via vaping. It resulted in an emergency trip to the hospital. I recognize the symptoms now. Because of vaping, my high blood pressure appears to be getting even better.
Thanks for the concern Semi. It's all good. I'm fixin' it.![]()

google Multiple Sclerosis, Uncle![]()

My BP has dropped some also. My doctor thinks it is great. I was borderline needing BP medicine and now I am in the perfect zone.
You take care of yourself. I know about dizzy stuff. It is one of the side effects of one of my ailments... Over vaping makes it kick in real good - I am continually trying to find the perfect vaping level...
why are people scared of nicotine?? I've heard many say that, not just your friend,,,,,,,,didn't she SMOKE?? those have nicotine too!
WOW ! ! ! THANKS for that information - I didn't know that and something I need to have checked then too when I see "My" Doctor next Friday . . . "My" BP hasn't been "BAD" (matter of fact, been getting "better"), but I need to check-out . . . AND very glad it is not anything else "My" Friend . . .
Oh BTW: Isn't it nice to just "Lurk" and not post sometimes . . .
Persoanlly - It is one of the things I really really "like" to do here - it's even funnier sometimes when People don't know that "You're" here and still reading what they post . . .![]()

Thread hopping again I see Uncle...![]()

Just a quicky - Not really "Free" Speech in UK . . . Legal system there is very very different and even problematic compared to USA, especially when there are charges of libel and defamation of character . . .AND More Importantly, remember it is not "Until Proven Guilty" like supposedly here - in the UK it is "Guilty Until "YOU" Prove Your Innocent" when you are accused/charged with a crime . . .![]()
It's weird because I haven't changed anything recently. Not my nic level or the amount that I vape (which is constantly). Dunno why this is happening now ...
But, I'm uninsurable, so I won't go to the doc unless I have a broken leg. My entire medical budget goes to my neurologist. I should just sign over my Jeep while I'm at it.
Personally - I'd rather feel up to joining in. Just sayin'. But I do know what you mean. I lurk like that on other threads. Not this one. This is home.

I'll just say this - everything has been changing for me, since I started this both good & bad physically, mentally, & emotionally . . . AND - I will not get into a lot of details here on the thread, however "My" meds and some other stuff had too, especially given the changes "My" body has been going though . . . The most recent was for my allegies, and we are still working on those . . .
As for "Uninsurable" - now that you are "Classified" with the government as being disabled - No "Medicare/Medicaid" ? ? ? Not even State "Medicaid" for those with "Special Needs" ? If not - "We" need to talk a little more - I'm not sure, but as a "Social Work" Aadvocate I have done some work in that area and I may have some info for you or do some research for you too . . . Let me know . . .![]()
YEA - I know - I fell the same way too . . . This was and is the "first" thread (besides the "New Members") where almost everyone made "Me" feel at home and provided "Me" with so much information, encouragement, & support (and still do)' . . .
I just find it nice to sit back and watch sometimes too . . . Particularly, all "Our" New "Volties"/"Voltians" that have joined "Us" all here in "Voltville" . . . It is amazing what people say and come up with (even the "old -timer's") when they "think" no one else is around and you are not commenting right away . . .![]()

Guess it is "My" watch and observe mentality too . . AND - to see who puts "One's" Foot into "One's" Mouth (like I have done so many times) too. . .![]()
I am so scrupulous about paying on time and avoiding interest fees. I had written the check, included the bill, sealed and stamped the envelope. I almost felt like crying.
That kid always could make me laugh.Any Apollo spacecraft lying around your land? When a person is determined to be "Disabled" then he is eligible for Medicare two years after his eligibility date. I've only been through one year so far. The amount of land and other personal properties that I own disqualifies me from a lot of aid programs. Not sure I disagree with that.
