Thanks! I'd give nearly anything to go back and relive that. The little critter in the tree in the Denali section was a least weasel. Moose are fairly aggressive - especially during the rut. I got treed by one (not in Alaska) and had to spend an entire night in that tree before he wandered off. The moose in Denali are acclimated to seeing people wandering around, and usually don't see them as a
threat. Outside of the park: all bets are off! The bears in Denali are the same way, but I still don't trust 'em. I was clawed by a black bear in Yellowstone when I was young.
I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to be attacked by a dog much less a bear. I did get to see a black panther on my way to work a few yrs back. My husband a long with some other locals told me that there were panthers here. I thought they had to much moonshine or something. On my way to work one winter night there it was walking along the side of the road and crossed ahead of my truck and stood there in the road. Rave I thought I was hallucinating so I stopped my truck and got out. My feet wouldn't let me get any closer to it but it was some kind of beautiful.
