Hi, kico. You asked what kind of netbook I got. It's an Acer 11.6" Aspire One (2GB ram, 320GB hard drive, Win7 Home Premium). It's the first one I've had and I know absolutely nothing about netbooks. I prefer using a desktop but wanted something I could use in my lounge chair when I wanted to put my feet up and to use in the kitchen when I'm searching for low carb info and recipes. I decided to get a netbook -- it's small but still has a regular keyboard. Then I just picked one out. lol I didn't have any extra cash in my checking, but was able to put it on my Best buy credit card and got 18 months same as cash.
I can't give you any technical advice about netbooks. I just plan to use mine for online stuff mostly and not put any of my programs on it, so the model I got should be all I'll need. Once you know what you would use one for you could probably get advice from some of the computer literate Volties about what to get.

I have all laptops now, even for my complicated Photoshop stuff. Can't imagine ever going back to desktops now! I mean, sometimes I feel like being here...sometimes I feel like being there...sometimes I have to go somewhere else entirely...no big deal! Just fold it up and take it with you! And then there's the free WiFi all over the place. You can be online wherever you go! And you don't have to fiddle with that virtual keyboard stuff! And you can have all your photos in there and just whip it out to play slideshows whenever you please! It's nice that you got the full version of Windows in there, instead of the smaller one (is it Atom?). If I had money, I'd buy one of those tiny ones too!

Coming from a design/engineering environment I still love a really powerful desktop with two 24" or bigger monitors. That said, my desk at home is only big enough for one 24" monitor. Laptops are nice, but for the kind of money that really powerful ones cost I can build a true mutilprocessor "Pro" workstation that'll far outlast a laptop. Unfortunately, it's too big to use on the couch or in the recliner!
SO how do you bookmark a thread at the point you left off? I spend too much time trying to find where I left off here and I keep missing the good stuff.

They have Scuba Dans Calculator with 160 juice recipes. Let me know if you need any help I mix something new every night now. Their flavors are second to none and they are also USA made.
Wow have had so many smiles reading all the good posts. Officer your story and operation hit close to home, with a family friend that had a similar experience. He is in his 50's and lost nearly all of his lower leg. Getting back on track has taken him nearly 3years. His hopes of riding again were dashed because of the rebuilding to his leg is severly disfigured. Riding is his life, he spent Most of his life since the age of 5yrs old riding, touring and travelling on bikes. Such a tragic story , and his was not even his fault. I thankyou for sharing wih us , you have great strenght and are a strong person. Its true even though events might do the deepest of damage some things are just in our blood. Not everyone can understand why you ever want to go back. Its reall inspiring to read that you still ride today. ( i believe thats a "Busa" in your shed

My funny story for you all to giggle at - well i couldnt find my microwave egg cooker. So i used a cup and a little bit of water, just like the other one. Except i couldnt rember how long for......... Every heard a pop and thought what was that? Yep runny egg exploded in the microwave

Well better get back to cleaning out tommies tank. I put his swimming bowl back in a few days ago cos he's shedding again and there's bits everwhere this time. He'll take a dip every now and then but he sure knows how to mess it up.

Remember the days when you were in danger of getting smoke in your eye? Well forget about that how about E.Juice in the eye!!!
OUCH my eye has never watered as much and the stinging was immense.
I have a unique way of filling them and I've never passed it on - probably a good thing come to think of it. So anyway I use CE3's and fill with a syringe. Instead of sucking the juice up, I hate that, I take the needle off and pull the plunger out of the syringe and squeeze my juice in to the open tube from the top end. I hold the tube of the syringe between my thumb and index finger while filling. Once filled I push the plunger back in just a touch then turn it round and release the index finger so the air is released which allows me to plunge/push the juice up the tube. Once the juice is at the top I place the needle back on and Hey Presto. It sounds weird maybe but I have found it works really well. So anyway the last time I did it I filled the tube and pushed the plunger in too much, when I turned it round and released my index finger the trapped air burst out and with it a lot a whole lot of juice. Ouchy Ouch Ouch.
I bathed the eye in water and it seems to be OK now.
So the moral is never get E.Juice in your eye
One word Safety Glasses, Ok that's two words but those and gloves are a must when working with Nicotine stronger than 24mg/ml but I bet you knew that. I too learn things I already knew the hard way all the time. It seems to stick with you better that way providing you don't do real damage as it then becomes a moot point.
One of those days when I really want a Marlboro, grrrr, and the batteries seem to be dying an ugly death, even the new ones, and none of the liquids taste right.
I just added that site to my favorites list. Maybe I will try mixing, cause I'm cheap. I used to mix automotive paints and used a gram scale instead of working with milliliters or ounces and it was very accurate, most of the time, when matching colors. Anybody out there have a gram scale converter instead of milliliter converter?
Hi everyone! I had a great morning. Last week I bought a netbook and had Geek Squad come today to set up a network for me. Yeah, I know, shoulda done it myself but I'm a real dummy where routers are concerned. I was afraid I wouldn't set it right and would get hacked.
This is great. I'm sitting in the sunroom where I can see the flowers on the patio. Darn, I can also see the weeds in the back border. Yeah, they're that big.
But what made the morning really great was the guy from Geek Squad asked about my Volts. Turns out he bought a gas station pv and wasn't happy with it, but really wants to quit smoking. I told him about ECF and Smokeless Image and gave him one of their business cards. I also gave him a battery, a usb charger, some cartos I had filled and a drip tip. He was so appreciative and said he really wants to quit because he has two little kids.
I told him he could start out with the slim batteries and showed him the x2s so he knew there were other options. I may never know if he ends up ordering some Volts, but I hope he does. They get the job done!!!

I kinda regret getting my Samsung Galaxy Tab II tablet instead of a laptop because touch virtual keyboards and I don't get along well - even with a stylus. I ended up getting a bluetooth keyboard to help with that problem. Shoulda just gotten a laptop. Hindsight. *sigh*

Yes, I am loving it. It's just a cute little baby computer! lol I liked that is has Win7 Home Premium. The smaller version of Windows is Windows Starter. Atom is a type of processor.
If I were still working and on the go a lot I would have a laptop for my main computer...with a dock, but I spend most of my time at home now so the desktop works for me. Yeah, it's stationary but you might say I am too now, so we match. lol I couldn't see spending a lot for the netbook because I will put it to minimum use. I did step up to the 11.6" screen though. It's still small but not so bad to read stuff on. The display is really good. I won't be listening to any music on it though, the speakers suck. It has WiFi so I could use it to go online if I wanted to take it with me when I go out. But I wanted a netbook just so I could have internet access anywhere in the house and on the patio....and now I do!

I'm with you on that, Virtual Keyboards are virtually impossible to use efficiently and should be only used on cell phones or Ipods. The difference between the cost of a Tablet and a Laptop does in no way make it worth giving up the convenience of a real keyboard or the computing speed of a real operating system and chip set. Tablets are nothing more than smart phones on steroids.

It really is a lot easier to do than most would have you believe and cost wise there's no comparison. You might spend a little more on the front end getting the equipment but if you plan on staying with vaping you will get a ROI in less than 2 months. One other thing, never buy your lab supplies from a vape store remember what their core business is. I spent about 1/3 for twice as much glassware, mixing and safety equipment by going to a Lab supply vendor that mostly sells to schools. I'm sure their are others but these guy's sell kits that have everything you need to get going for about $40.
HOME SCIENCE TOOLS I will add that always wear eye protection and gloves which come with most kits and a respirator is not required with Nicotine if you have a well ventilated work area. I work in my garage with the door open and a box fan pulling the fumes away from me and out the open door.

Because like most of us you got sucked in by a great ad campaign. I bought the Apple 32 Gig Tablet when it was the latest and greatest but quickly learned that I had made a big mistake. Fortunately at the time they were very hard to find and within two weeks I had sold it for the same price I paid for it and bought a Dell Laptop for the same money. I tend to learn things the hard way too.
After owning an Android tablet for about a year and using an IPad a number of times, my feeling is that tablets are "not quite ready for prime time players". Virtual keyboards are terrible and the suggested words lists lists are just as bad. Weak to mediocre processors, limited memory, poor battery life, and relatively small displays all combine to make them less than "optimal". On the other hand they are very portable and an easy way to read a book you don't really ever want to share with anyone else. Just my opinion, worth what it costs, your results may vary.

That's what I have been doing. Guess I better put on the safety goggles to use that technique

Are you soaking the dry beans overnight with a touch of baking soda? Fixes the, er, methane situation and the beans do cook faster. Then cook them in a crockpot or on the stove.
