Hey thanks for all the input on the horses! Wow on Parelli! I've been watching some Monty Roberts Equus online. Had a free 24 hr pass. I like his philosophy: No violence. (The foster parent in me wonders what his story is - his childhood was the basis of his philosophy.)

The older horse (think he'll be "Sully" short for Sultan - he has a regal bearing) has been doing well on the grain & grass hay. Jr. (owner) is positive he'll do better as soon as the herd is cut in half (ie: going to sale) tomorrow. Also said he needs a different feed formula which doesn't work with 28 head in the same area. I'm going to see what he suggests - then feed him on the side while I'm there to make sure he gets it. There are a couple geldings that sometimes forget they are geldings and run everyone around.
Hubs isn't helping: he says keep both Sultan and Smokey (the blue roan colt). My stomach goes into knots thinking about the care & upkeep of 1 or 2 let alone 3 horses. Til the ink is dried I don't consider our place sold just yet. Yes, we are under contract to close Oct 12 - but anything can happen between now and then. I'm curious about neck reining from the ground! Yes Sandy - thin and bareback - OUCH!!!

The flip side is: I NEED a second means of connecting to the web! Interesting about the Acer. I just got off the phone setting up a time to take my desktop in for a check up. I asked him about the Acer I saw on HSN. His experience was stay away from Acer. Go figure. It's beginning to look like the Ford or Chevy drama!

Need to get my .... into the attic and finish setting up the antenna so we can tell Dish where to go with their continually flucuating price and channel listing. They DID OT honor their end of the contract when we signed up on a special. They said their costs had gone up so that was why we were getting extra channels - changing monthly of course. Yet I know peeps who've had Dish for years - no price change.

Ok - my rant is over. Boo Hoo: discovered 2 Clearomizers (blueberry & apple) that are cracking / cracked. I just tossed the apple one the day before (7 or 8 days old). Last night went to fill my favorite Butterscotch Pudding - and re-checked the Blueberry. It has a crack forming. I can't feel it on the outside yet - but it's bigger than the day before. So far the Kanger M3's are not showing any problem. They've been sitting in the glass case in a side pocket of my handbag (at the "ready" when it's grab & go)!
Curiosity is killing me about what SI has coming ..... Time to start stalking the mailbox for the new flavors coming! The tracking number won't let me know even when I go directly to USPS and enter the number. Have a good day all! :D

And I thought you were a good boy scout, always prpeared, hot spot running, laptop "asleep" instead of shut off. I dunno...I don't have any excuses like that, laptop and WiFi always on and I still forget what I was going to look up, usually before the next browser tab opens. Talk about short attention spans!

Hey Larry, you getting some rain from the hurricane? I hope it isn't too much all at once though.

One word Safety Glasses, Ok that's two words but those and gloves are a must when working with Nicotine stronger than 24mg/ml but I bet you knew that. I too learn things I already knew the hard way all the time. It seems to stick with you better that way providing you don't do real damage as it then becomes a moot point.

Luckily I use 12mg. That did concern me though as the eye is an immediate hit to the system, I bathed it straightaway and got the excess off but I know the nic was immediately introduced to my bloodstream. I haven't (touch wood) had any bad affects as yet.

That's what I have been doing. Guess I better put on the safety goggles to use that technique:)

I've found it actually works really well. Now I will definitely disclaim that with saying but you must use gloves and eye goggles or have a cover when you release the air.

Coming from a design/engineering environment I still love a really powerful desktop with two 24" or bigger monitors. That said, my desk at home is only big enough for one 24" monitor. Laptops are nice, but for the kind of money that really powerful ones cost I can build a true mutilprocessor "Pro" workstation that'll far outlast a laptop. Unfortunately, it's too big to use on the couch or in the recliner!
Yeah, see what I mean? You don't really need that much power to surf the net! I'd rather be comfortable and happy! ;)

True I don't need that much horsepower or screen area very often, but when I do it sure beats the heck out of staring at a small screen and flipping back and forth from app to app or page to page or trying to use the darn virtual keyboard that always guess the wrong word. I do have a really comfortable desk chair, lots of AC and enough space for a cup of coffee and lots of spare batteries and CE3s. Plus, who knows, maybe someday it'll find ET.

1stOfficer, to pick up where you left off, you can:
• bookmark the thread and click "Last Unread" at the top (directly above the first post) or
• Click on "What's New?," then "My Posts," then the thread, then "Last Unread."

I have the SI subforum home page bookmarked, and click on the bolded threads (the ones containing posts I haven't read yet), then click on "Last Unread."

...what I bookmarked from TK's post was the URL for Wizard Labs. ;)

yes, i am loving it. It's just a cute little baby computer! Lol i liked that is has win7 home premium. The smaller version of windows is windows starter. Atom is a type of processor.

If i were still working and on the go a lot i would have a laptop for my main computer...with a dock, but i spend most of my time at home now so the desktop works for me. Yeah, it's stationary but you might say i am too now, so we match. Lol i couldn't see spending a lot for the netbook because i will put it to minimum use. I did step up to the 11.6" screen though. It's still small but not so bad to read stuff on. The display is really good. I won't be listening to any music on it though, the speakers suck. It has wifi so i could use it to go online if i wanted to take it with me when i go out. But i wanted a netbook just so i could have internet access anywhere in the house and on the patio....and now i do!
headphones are awesome! :)
