I don't know you as well as Raynes, Uncle but you can see the frustration in your writing..............

I think what you seem to be frustrated about it the various numbers of the same exact thing with a different name and everyone stepping up to take the role of the expert on what you should try. Unfortunately, lots of industries do the same thing. There is one manufacturer that makes pretty much the exact same product but it is sold by retailers and those retailers sell it by a different name. Specifically, mattresses sold by Serta or any other company are made the exact same way but given different names based on which chain will sell them so that you can't go from one store to another and shop without some advanced knowledge of what you are looking at. It drives people crazy to see a sale that says, "find it anywhere else and we will beat it" They can say that because you won't find the "same" thing, it has a different name.

Maybe it is my job or the cynic in me or both but I take in all the information and make my own mind up. Knowing what I know about retailers, I dont "shop around" for anything. I find a place that has a lot of reccomendations by others (sure you will find a bad one or two) and give it a try. If they produce the same results for me, I continue to use that vendor. If they dont repeatedly, I find another.

I have two vendors right now and I only plan to use those two until either a. someone gives me a really good reason to try another or b. they give me a reason to find another. I dont have an issue trying everything for ONE or TWO vendors, pick something that works and stick with it. Hell, I didnt even know other companies sold the same CE3s until someone mentioned it.

For the DIY stuff....and I am not knocking anyone who does it; you are dealing with a chemical, without real training and I know that "I" (just speaking for myself here) am not qualified or gifted in that area to mess with it. There are people out there who change their own oil. Hey, more power to ya but I know that if I tried that, I would be buying a new car shortly thereafter.

BOY can I relate. Nice to meet you Basilor, welcome to Voltville.

Glad to be here, thanks!

BTW, Basil (pronounced Bahzil) is the name of my Basset Hound, which I got from Basil Fawlty (anyone know who that is? hehe)

I use that name now as a general online name, and as the name of a few game characters.

Hehe, in the late 70's, being full of knowledge from auto shop class in school, my buddy and I changed the oil in our cars at his house. Well some idiot (raises hand) tipped over the dirty oil container pulling it out from under my car. We spent the next 8 hours cleaning and scrubbing the driveway. I decided then and there I would never change my oil again.

As far as DIY, I have been kinda looking at some kits that the nic liquid is 48mg, which I think would be "relatively" safe to handle. I have no kids here, just me and the critters. And it looks somewhat easy with the pipettes. Anyway, that is a discussion for another thread.

And thank you all for making me feel welcome here.

Know your limits.

Heck I changed the breaks on my little toyota celica in college. It cost me the price of the brakes and 3 cases of beer(Old Milwaukee) 5 guys lifted up the front of of the car while I changed the front break. This may sound harsh but it sounds worse that it is. One dude let go with one hand to grab a beer and the car fell on him. He was fine. Brakes worked like a champ.

I can tell you this. The DIY stuff is not all it is cracked up to be.

Correct.. Why I tried it. I think I used to much flavoring in my first batch, flavorarts. (This batch 6 drops per 5 ml.. yes I am aware of measuring drops vs ml) Not too sure but it makes me sick to my stomach.

Still for a 250 ml bottle of unflavored liquid at 9 bucks, not a bad deal. Gonna try it straight to see if it is the liquid first. Also gonna try half the flavoring and try a straight menthol mix tonight, if I have the time. I mix in 5 ml bottles I got from sampling every liquid vendor know to man and a few that live under rocks. Heck maybe it just needs to steep.

I guess my overall points were that one, I understand the frustration. The CE3s alone are made by one company and sold as three different products on the market. You ask a question on the new member forum and you get what I swear from looking was a copy and paste response.....same exact words, same exact comments from the same user. That doesn't help and I discarded anything that didn't address the actual question I asked. Now that I have a little more experience; I know that I don't like the clearos all that much, the vape on the CE3 is worth the issue that I WILL HAVE and I gave up on the cartos. I personally don't want a mod or a huge tank and that is my preference. My buddy is getting into vaping by my suggestion and I am just giving him things that I bought to try and let him form his own opinion because he can't afford to just try some stuff. My suggestion to him though was the same, pick a few vendors and try their stuff as you can, here is what I like and why and let him do his thing but at no point did I clearly suggest what he should do and I also made sure he knew I have zero clue if this is 100% safe.

Secondly, like Bluecat said....know your limits. There are plenty of people that are geared to make their own batches but when I struggle to effectively mix premade juice, I have no business trying to make my own stuff. To each his own.

Nice to meet you Drummerskey. I never was going to say it, but I was so glad to get out of that New Members forum I didn't know what to do. Everyone means well there, there's no doubt about that but the wealth of information is mind boggling.
Guess my biggest fear of DIY liquids is I know how addicted I am to nicotine and I vape constantly. I've just got an addictive personality
that's all I can say and I know I'd bump that nicotine right on up there. I admire the folks that have self restraint and can DIY. Like you and Bluecat said its all in knowing your limits and what a person is comfortable with.

I think SI has come the closest to making things simple as well as making some of the other slightly more advance d stuff simple too. But I agree vaping should be grab and go for folks just trying to get off the analogs or those who want to just vape in a simple way.
I agree. If it wasn't for SI I don't think Mother or I either one would have been able to stop smoking this long. Just quitting the analogs is frustrating enough for us b/c neither of us wanted to quit. She felt she had to b/c she had a stroke, I quit to support her. I'm just thankful we enjoy vaping.

Lizzie ,what kind of horse clinic? A driving one? So sorry to hear about your wheelbarrow,I know how that is. Hopefully he'll get it fixed soon.

Hi Raynes, the clinic was an obstacles clinic and it was pretty close by. Even though my horse is a mini there were supposed to be other minis there. I was going to do the in hand and the in hand challenge the next day. I was hoping to watch the driving challenge. Oh well.

I was hoping to get some help with the breeching since I have a bunch of straps I can't figure out what goes where on his ..... I was also hoping to do a little driving while I was there.

Since it was pretty close by [40 miles] I thought I could get some experience at driving the trailer and seeing how other people handle their animals. Anyway, some of the ladies do drive in a town west of here and now that I finally got the trailer completely set up and I have practiced driving it [without the little horse in it] I think I will be able to at least go do that.

I agree. That is why I went with Smokeless Image. There aren't forty thousand flavors and twenty products spread across the page in a confusing grid. The stuff all works with both kinds of batteries. The Mr Outlaw and SteelJan videos spell out the information needed to use the product in a fairly straightforward fashion.

I also don't think I need more and more and more vapor. Goodness, the CE3's and the clearos put out a ton of vapor. The cartos are easy but I end up not liking them on a refill. They just don't seem to give me quite the amount of drags I would like so the easy solutions of the CE3's and the clearos is enough for me.

I sure hate that you missed it,sounds like it would have been a lot of fun and a great opportunity to learn. My problem with a trailer is backing the thing. I have never been able to back any type of trailer without a great deal of frustration and help.

I can't really back up either. I was going to get there earlier and get a great parking spot:)

Ya Basil is 12 now. His "brother" is a chow / retriever mix of some sort... a rescue.

Once you go Basset, you never go back. I even have stairs on the side of the bed so he can come and go as he pleases.

Very very smart dogs btw.

I thought so also, but watched a video at a DIY website, showing how easy it was to use their kit. It seems pretty simple, the 48mg is unflavored liquid that you add to your PG / VG and flavors.

Since it is another website, I could PM you a link to the video if you want. Again, I am just kinda looking into this now. Most of the flavors I like seem to be very basic, like red hot cinnamon / menthol.

Anyway, let me know if you want me to send the link.
