Good Friday, everyone. Happy pedaling, Rave. I'm a pedaler, too. Maybe we could start our own "bikers club"...like 1st Officer belongs to.

 Sounds good Lilac. I'm thinkin' that maybe ours would need to be a bit tamer. Do you have the same kind of rig that I have (just a free standing pedal apparatus)?

Good Noon Volties!

Tina: Keepin' the fingers crossed! Give it few more times and he'll be sayin' he can't STAND the taste or anything about the stinkies!
Best of luck w/ school!

Yup - love the handle on that mug!

Raynes - Sultan says Thank You for the Manna Apple Treat! (complete w/ neck rub!)

What a morning! Last night cleaned out the fountain (horse yard) - the float arm decided to permanently retire. We left the water on at a trickle - ran to 2 towns to find parts. I had a crowd of "helpers" while puttin' in and adjusting the new one!

Leavin' coffee for the noon crowd!

Help yourself! There's cocoa & tea if that's more your style! :)

Well, it's not a bike - just the foot pedal assembly. I've put it in the knee hole of my desk so that I can pedal any time. When I first got it yesterday, I put in a half hour straight with no resistance. I'll boost up the resistance as I get stronger and rebuild atrophied muscle. Then I can hopefully get back to my HealthRider. Thanks for asking! :)
You'll get there I KNOW you will just don't over do and strain anything. If I wasn't so embarrassed I'd take a pic of what the hubby has rigged up for me to start getting ready to try ride again.

Thank you for the welcome, Raynes. Bill says thank you as well.

Your beautiful horse in your avi?
Bluesman, yes that is Kola she was 6mos old when that pic was taken. She is the only foal that was born here on our farm. Her dam is 14.2h and was a PMU broodmare that we rescued. We didn't know she was bred at the time,I had her mother vet checked before her arrival and she was bred. She was too far along to abort the foal and so malnourished I didn't see how she could have had Kola safely AUGH!!! What was worse is the folks we had rescued her from had a Percheron stallion. Horse breeding is not my game I leave that to professionals and my friend Liz refused to swap one of the horses she rescued for mine. She said I needed the experience (the heck I did) so here I was stuck with a pregnant malnourished mare I knew nothing about.
I call Kola my miracle she arrived healthy and happy and her dam made it through great. At PMU farms the foals are taken away at 3mos old and were sold or slaughtered. Kola is the only foal Mae got to keep with her. The only time they have been separated was for weaning.
That's Kola's story and I hope I didn't bore you to tears. Thank you for the compliment,I'll tell Kola and give her an even bigger head she's quite the diva

OMGosh Raynes! Quite a story - no boredom in my area! Just cringe to hear about these things. Last summer one of the rescues brought out here made it about a week - but it was just too late for him. Last month one was here 4 hours. I had a sinking feeling I was serving him his "last meal" ... He was just too weak to even get up. I'd hoped bringing him a little food and making sure he had water that he'd get his strength back ...

What is PMU?

Percheron huh? I think the Gypsy Vanner's have a little Perch in their background ... There's a handsome fella out there that I call Gypsy bcs he reminds me of them - minus the heavy leg feathering ... :)

Glad you had the experience of raising a baby ... Kola looks to be gorgeous! How old is she now?

Absolutely love your story. Thank you for sharing that with me.

I am quite aware of the atrocities of PMU farms. I have seen the results. You certainly have grabbed my respect and admiration.

Me neither, I just now looked it up. ugh. Humans are capable of so many atrocities. Makes me sad

Yes, starsong, you are correct. I have a ranch/farm full of animals who were abused, mistreated, or otherwise left to misery by humans. I have been doing this for years, and still don't understand the human lack of compassion.

Raynes' story was very emotional for me. Raynes deserves the Voltville Humanitarian of the Day award. Oh, there isn't one? Well there is one now.

Tame for sure, Rave...pink leather jackets with coffee and PV logos.

No, mine is an old Trim Fit that moves my legs and my arms. This is the third cycle I have had. I wore one out several years ago and Hub and I went the next day and bought the one I have now. I told him it would be cheaper than paying my psychiatric bills. Pedaling helps with tension/depression/anxiety that I have been gifted with.

PMU is Pregnant Mare Urine..
You couldn't pay me enough money to go through that experience again. Kola is 3yrs old.Her favorite thing is still to take my baseball cap off my head and run off with it.

I was a member of the Foaltrain rescue group and we dealt with the Canadian farmers. The ones we dealt with loved their horses and didn't want the foals to go to slaughter. Still they were weaned when they were only 3mos old. There is only one farm that we dealt with that is still in operation Wyeth closed the rest down.My best friend Liz Creamer started Foaltrain on her own I think you can still type Foaltrain in your search engine and read the history.
Mae for the record was rescued from a so called "fellow rescuer".
Thanks for the compliment but I really didn't do anything,I'm just blessed to be able to live my dream. Oh,I can tell you some real life stories now, that's for sure but I don't want to bore everyone with them
