Good morning Voltatics! Coffee is hot and ready and there are some fresh hard rolls (Kaiser rolls for those of you west of NJ) that you can toast in the toaster oven and butter. Jam is in the fridge.

Got a lot to do today to batten down for the storm. We have a lot of trees, some overhang the house, so I want to trim the dead limbs and clean the gutters among a bunch of other things.

THANKS for the coffee, maybe you can talk Bo into helping you tote off the limbs, maybe the whole tree as big as he is. PLEASE BE CAREFUL !!!

Hi Con its good to see you. Its beautiful here still in the 70's. The fall leaves are still on the trees. From where I'm sitting there is a squirrel on one of the feeders (boy he sure is noisy banging the door to the feeder).
Won't be long until time to put up the suet feeders, maybe this yr I'll get a young woodpecker to come to the one on the back porch again.
Still haven't seen not one wild turkey or a deer yet but the deer have been licking their salt blocks.Maybe the next time I'm off.
Geez I hope I can sleep, one of Randy's chickens prefers our house to his,its a young rooster learning to crow and he don't seem to care its midmorning. Oh well, life on a farm, family,a good vape and you guys I'm so blessed.
You all have a GREAT day.!!

Aw maan! That's another thing that I keep forgetting to do. I need to make a good hauling harness for Lexi so that she can help out with moving timber around here.

For all you DIY aficionados, Wizard Labs has lowered their prices by a third and has a large selection of flavors. I've only used their tobacco flavors so far, but have some other on the way.
Hi Awsum, first of all, be careful with the storm.

I like WL, they also have pre-mixed base. They just added 12mg, and you can order it in any PG/VG combo. I am doing that rather than messing with high nic bottles.

I just made an really nice tobacco...15% double RY4, then 5 drops chocolate in 5ml mix. Don't really taste the chocolate, just a nice little addition.

So far I've tried WL Tobacco Absolute, RY4 Type 1, RY4 Asian, Marlboro and 555. I love the Tobacco absolute and RY4 Asian. The RY4 Type 1 was way too strong, as was the Marlboro and 555. I mixed 555 again the other day, at 2.5% and that was fairly good and I may drop it down to 2%. WL flavors are very strong and you have to be very careful with them, like start at half of the suggested percentage or even less, at least for me. At less than two bucks for 8ml it's not a bad deal at all.

The black honey is also really good, but strong.

I think that's a great list,,,,,,you have some tobaccos and some fruits,,,,,,,I could vape the fruits immediately, so those will carry you while you wait for the tobaccos to steep,,,,,,,,

you'll need some syrynges, maybe,,,,,Wizard will send you two pipettes, but they are hard to see the markings on,,,,,,,,of course, I have old eyes! I recommend at least a couple 10ml syrynges,,,,and maybe a couple 1 or 2 ml syrynges and a couple blunt tip needles. WL has the best price on them,,,,,,,,I got mine at Walgreens and paid 2.50 EACH for them.

I am having a really tough time with the TFA fruits, might try the Capella's 5 flavor deal. Heard their fruits are really good and more forgiving. I would love it if someone would pm me some good fruit recipes. I will try cantaloupe next order.

Here is what I did to make life easier. I got about 20 flavors from WL. So I ordered enough pipettes to have one for each flavor. Then I typed up the list, printed it out, and used tape to label each pipette. That way, after I clean them with water, they are only used in 1 flavor per pipette, hopefully keeping it a bit pure. I think they are only 15¢ ea.

Here is what someone else on another thread suggested for mixing. Put 20 drops of a base into a bottle. Add 1 drop of flavor. That's 5% flavor. After testing add 2 drops base 1 drop flavor, now you have 10% etc.

To make life easier testing, I went to Hobby Bench, and they have a painters palette for $5.00 that is a little plastic tray with 12 little plastic cups with caps. I took a marker and numbered the caps, that way I could easily keep track of what was in each one I was messing with. Easy to mix very small amounts to test, and easy to clean.

Here is one of my favorites I made (all TFA flavors from WL). Red Hot Cinnamon 10%, Koolanda 3%, Menthol 5%. And I have had it non stop in a CE2 for almost a month no problem. Doesn't even cloud the tank.

Anyway, Have a great weekend everyone, be safe those in the storms path.

HV!

Mark

Pomps "crashed" on me. He's in a coma so its just a matter of time. That was why Dr.Hernandez said to wait 24hrs so there was extensive damage. I tried to get him to drink some more tuna juice but he couldn't. I doubt if he makes it until I go to work. I'm glad that Dr Click did come out so he can go on in peace and with the ones that love him. If Pomps had,had any real chance at all I know Dr Click would have taken Pomps with him. I'm OK.
On a happier note, Lilac I found the PERFECT accessory for your silver car. SI's SCREAMING ORANGE X2. Mine came yesterday and I took it with me today,l almost have to wear shades to vape with it. I'm scared to take it to the barn its so bright I'm afraid it will spook the horses.
My 2yo Grandson met me with a coffee cup this morning when I got to their house that says "The ONLY" thing that comes btw me & my Grandma is a HUG". This cup is so heavy you can use it as a weapon.

I'm sorry to hear about Pomps. This is a difficult time, but try to remember the good times you had with him.

Congratulations ,Holly on your first DIY venture!! It is a lot of fun. Cindy is oh-so right about Capella's Strawberries & Cream. It is fantastic! So is their Vanilla Custard, and the Lemon/Lime, and .... well, you get the picture.

I'm so distracted by other things that I didn't even know about a storm fixing to hit the east. :(

I heard it's named after me.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Taking a short break and answering "wholesale".

It' in the mid 60's here and may actually get over 70 if the sun comes out.

I think that's a great list,,,,,,you have some tobaccos and some fruits,,,,,,,I could vape the fruits immediately, so those will carry you while you wait for the tobaccos to steep,,,,,,,,

I steep my tobaccos, and all my liquids for that matter, maybe five, ten or even fifteen whole minutes. It never seems to hang around long enough to actually steep.

THANKS for the coffee, maybe you can talk Bo into helping you tote off the limbs, maybe the whole tree as big as he is. PLEASE BE CAREFUL !!!

I'm using a pole saw and standing on the ground. If I can't reach it, Mother Nature will take care of it and the manual saw keeps the sizes down for the most part. I hop on the roof with the leaf blower to clean the gutters. I even blow out the downspouts with it. The whole job only takes about a half hour plus ladder setup time and I never get dirty.

Here is what someone else on another thread suggested for mixing. Put 20 drops of a base into a bottle. Add 1 drop of flavor. That's 5% flavor. After testing add 2 drops base 1 drop flavor, now you have 10% etc.

That's a great idea Mark! I will try that but double the base amount to cut the first mix to 2.5% because WL flavors are pretty strong. I like that palette idea too. I've been using old 3ml sample bottles and just doing one at a time, I get easily confused LOL. Seiously, I have found that I might "like" a flavor I drip on an atty but when I try it for a while in a CE3 it may not be as good, or even pretty bad. I usually mix a 2.5ml batch at 2.5% with WL to start with, give it a try on a drip atty and if I like it load a CE3 for the real test. Getting extremely small amounts of flavor gets a little tuff at times.

I MADE E JUICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I now have: Apricot, black berry, cantaloupe, buttery nipple and strawberries and cream,,,,,,

AND THEY ARE ALL GOOD!!!!!!! I started small and low,,,,,and worked up :) when I got them perfect, I made 30 ml bottles,,,,,,

I am steeping the strawberries and cream and the buttery nipple before making a 30 ml though :)

Big congrats, Holly! I tried the DIY way back when I first started vaping, mostly to save money since I was so broke then. Mine were never that good, but you've inspired me to maybe give it another try. :D I like fruit, especially watermelon, but a lot of the fruit flavors I bought before had that weird floral "perfumey" undertaste to them, which I disliked intensely. I think I'd like to try cantaloupe, vanilla custard, strawberries & creme, and of course, watermelon (my all-day vape). Where did you purchase your flavors?

I WON!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be going thorough it and I'm sure gifting some of them,,,,,,,,,as soon as I have a list of what I have to gift, I'll post it here for you guys :)

Or you could just say it was purple. :)

It looks like the ranch and farm are going to take a pretty good hit from the hurricane. There will be a lot of prep work going on today and through the weekend. I'll get the work schedule together so there will be enough people here before, during, and after. And then I'm getting out of here and I'll spend a few days with Raven.

Last year there was a snow storm. This year a hurricane. Oh, boy, I can't wait until next year.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Another break between outside and inside tasks.

Well, I just went out and bought a new generator, some cords and gas. If this storm leaves us without power, I'll be ready. My last generator died after the last big storm, and I guess I put this off as long as I could.

J.R.

Hey J.R. what brand was the one that went flooey? I bought one about three years ago (Harbor Freight special), during the summer ahead of storm season. It's only a 7Kw but it runs my whole house, well pump, AC, water heater, furnace, computers, lights and TV (for all the good a TV is when the cable is out). I'm going to start it up tomorrow just to be sure, but I start it monthly anyway, a habit from being in IT and managing disaster recovery). Ours is in the shed and I just "reverse" the wiring to the shed to supply the house, no cords needed other than the one between the generator and the subpanel in the shed. That worked out nice since the shed has 220/30amp service and a subpanel and it keeps the noise away from the house. Of course I have to "disconnect" from the power grid when using the generator. I did add a lot of venting to the shed though.
