Thanks for the coffee Lizzie. I was hoping there would be some word from our friends. Hopefully all are safe and sound on the east coast. Sure wish Sandy would hurry up and move out of there and dissapate

Me, too. All the people on the miniature horse site have said they are fine and there was only minor damage for them but the people with real problems may not have checked in yet.

Morin' Everyone and especially all the other "Survivors" of Hurricane "Sandy" . . .

All my thoughts are going out to those who are still experiencing the effects of what came through . . .

Well what has happened in NYC varies depending where you were/are . . . AND - By now most people should know the major incidents including the typical Flooding, Road Closures, Trees/Electrical Lines Down, Electrical Outages . . . Not common was the Tunnels that are Flooded; Low lying areas around Manhattan were/are also Flooded out; a huge construction crane hanging from a building in Midtown and the facade of a building in Chelsea collapsing - AND SO MUCH MORE . . . In addition many areas throughout New Jersey ("Jersey Shore" is devastated), Pennsylvania, and Connecticut have been hit really hard and the storm is still moving West and North . . . SO Everyone (and that includes you "Blues") stay SAFE and out of harms way . . .

THANKFULLY - for "Me" and "My" Friends that I am staying with here in NYC, WE ARE All Fine and only had very very minor inconveniences . . . So, as planned, I will still be here for another day, then trying to get down to New Hope for a day and to the Philadelpa Airport on Thursday to get back to Florida for the last month of hurricane season . . . SO again - Thanks - Everyone for your concern and well wishes . . . Now, not that it needs saying, "We" need to keep them going for those still in the way of this storm and/or recouping from her effects . . .

"awsum", "Officer", and anyone else effected by "Sandy" ("My" apologies, but the brain is not working well and I cannot remember off the top of my head who else is effected - could be because I still need more coffee) - How are "YOU" Doing ? ? ?

Sitting down, facing forward.
Thanks for the coffee, Lizzie. Running a little late from being busy this morning. Last night it got worse between nine and midnight. We lost power at 10PM and it's still out. I'm running on the generator and, obviously still have cable and broadband. On the plus side the barometer is back up and at 29.16 right now, really fast change. The only damage I have is a few small branches, about two inches in diameter, that came down and leaves stuck to every window of the house.

New Jersey and New York have been devastated. The Jersey shore has a lot of severe damage, houses litterally sitting in the middle of the main highway along the Point Pleasant to Seaside barrier penninsula. I haven't heard what happened to Long Beach Island, a long, narrow barrier island that stretches from Barnegat Inlet to almost Atlantic City. Heavy flooding all along the shore with many towns under water still this morning, as in feet of water and it's sea water. North Jersey got heavy flooding from the storm surge. There are rail cars sitting on an elevated portion of the NJ Turnpike from it. The Lincoln Tunnel is open, but the Holland and Brooklyn-Battery tunnels are both flooded and closed. Ground Zero is flooded as is much of lower Manhattan. Many of the power substations in North jersey and New York went completely underwtaer. The storm surge at Battery Park was fifteen feet, four feet over the previous record and four feet over the sea wall. It's gonna be a long slow recovery from this one.

I hope everyone is safe and the folks in the mountains of VA and WV are safe and snug and warm, they got a blizzard from this.

Anybody heard from Uncle? He was in Manhattan I think and a lot of Manhattan has no power.

Never mind, he posted while I was posting, LOL!

YEP :D

AND - Actually, since I lived here in NYC for many years, I have a few Friends in and around the city and I am staying at "My" Friends Home in Elmhurst Queens . . . "My" Friends I stay with in Manhattan (one who works for the NYSE) had more than enough to deal with then having any extra guest (If I could only tell ya what he has been going though - Not Good) . . . More importantly, my friends that I am staying with have more physical problems than I do (she is 78 and her son {who is my age} is mentally challenged) and I wanted to stay with them just in case anything did happen and they needed assistance . . .

Hi everyone! My 1st post to this thread.

There seems to be a lot of animal lovers here judging by the avis I've seen. We here in Maryland seem to have been spared the worst of the damage from Sandy as compared to those north of us.

My thoughts and prayers go to all who have to deal with massive cleanups and/or repairs.

Uncle, I hope you make it home soon!

How are things your way Officer?

We lost a lot of small trees and no more leaves for the tourist to look at, thank god things will finally get quiet up here. Tomorrow will be sunny so I will take a ride to town and get a few day laborers to clean up the mess. Power Company say's maybe Friday we will have power back. The internet? who knows. I'm sure glad I bought this Android phone last month, I gotta get a Ham Radio! Don't like being disconnected from the world. Thanks for asking. :)

Welcome JoAnn glad to have you aboard. I think most of us here are friends of the little furry creatures (even the big ones) that allow us to live in their world. Just one bit of advice, Sheep Lie! so don't believe anything they say. Oh and Raynes has the Handcuff Keys, in case you needem. :D
