I didn't want to fool with cutting down nicotine, at least on my first attempt. That's why I ordered the 12mg base. It was still very reasonable, 11.49 for 250 mls. I've been using 18mgs but am cutting down to 12mg with the dessert flavors, which is all I'm going to attempt making right now.

When I first started vaping I got 24mg but found it too strong, even though I smoked 2 ppd. 18 mgs works fine and I have a few dessert flavors that are only 9mg. When I add flavor to the 12mg base it will drop it down a little.

So you can get an already mixed pre-nicotine base and just add flavoring?

18mg is about my limit, I started with 24mg and it made me dizzy (don't say it Raynes). A lot of my coffee mixes I keep between 8mg and 12mg. The strongest I've ever vaped (quite by accident) was 100% when I was interrupted by my daughter while mixing. I took about two vapes and almost coughed up a lung and then I saw the other 4 empty 10ml bottles and realized what I had done. That was early in my mixing endeavor and it taught me several lessons.

YIKES that probably would have really done some damage to someone petite like Rave. I vape 18mg to,started at 12mg. I'm OK with staying at 18mg but if nicotine helps slow the progression of RA like they say, then I'm all for bumping up my mg if needed.

Can she come up with some flavors Blues?

Oh, Raynes, what she vapes are very good flavors. And she buys the best flavorings. But if Raven uses 40 percent flavoring, you might want to cut that in half or more. You can always add more flavoring to suit your taste.

Although, the thing is, Raynes, you might like her percentages. Everyone's tastes are different.

I know nothing!!! That's my plan, Raynes. I hope I'm doing it right.

When I saw that Wizard Labs offers the base in various mgs and you can pick the pg/vg ratio, it seemed like an easy way to go for my first try at this. They also have a variety of sizes (mls) available. I also got some glass dropper bottles to put my 'concoctions' in if they taste good. I already have some small plastic bottles to mix up test samples in.

If I can't make any flavors I like, I figure I'm only out the cost of the nic juice. I can find a use for the flavors and the empty glass bottles.

What do you do,just keep adding flavor until you can taste them?

Most flavorings are at least somewhat consistent in strength within the company's offerings. I know that if I am utilizing flavorings from one company, I may only need 30%, while those from another company, I may need 40% or more. The one that I use at 70% is the very highest that I've ever gone, but ... ohmy, is it good! That's Capella's Vanilla Custard. I also add another flavor to it which is part of that 70%.

This is why I don't order nicotine already cut low. I never know how much flavoring I will want to add. I stick with 60mg nicotine and cut it down. Also, you will find that some flavorings really require more VG for adequate vapor than others. It sounds complicated, but it really isn't.

Sounds like a plan to me. I know if I had to calculate something I'd be up a creek without a paddle.

I should elaborate a little: When I order nic, I get 60mg (not dangerous enough to need a mask) cut with PG only. I add VG according to what I find works out best.

That's probably about as clear as mud.

VG has to do with the throat hit right? That's the thick stuff. You cut the nic with the PG and flavoring right? That is if you DIY from scratch correct?

Hmm - mine are non-tobacco flavor --- so I don't know who to recommend. Someone else will chime in, I hope. I haven't tried to replicate SI's Watermelon because it's PERFECT. I know darned well I wouldn't be able to match it. :(

Throat hit comes more from the PG or the nicotine, not from VG. VG gives more vapor, a sweeter taste, and thickness.

Yes, I DIY from scratch.

Now I can't shut up!

I can get a 125ml bottle of 60mg nicotine in a PG base from My Freedom Smokes for $15.95. On top of that, they run sales often. I just received a notice of a 36 hour sale that takes another 20% off of that price (coupon code "NIC20"). I will divide that into smaller bottles and freeze it until I need it.

Awsum is the one to talk to about tobacco flavor. I don't do much of that, still have the first 50ml I mixed 2 months ago.

Absolutely! (You can freeze it) Since I DIY most of my nicquids, I buy much larger bottles of nicotine and divide into 30ml bottles leaving as little air as possible in the bottle. It'll keep for a long time. No one really knows how long. When you want to use it, all you need to do is wait until the bottle completely reaches room temperature. Otherwise, you can get condensation in the bottle. Easy squeezee!
