I'll give you an update on the situation here because it seems like some people are interested.

Due to hurricane Sandy we lost a few buildings. One of the important buildings was used for medical reasons, a clean room, and a room for storage and prep of food.

Three bids on the work, insurance payout, and construction scheduling has the work beginning next week. The foundation of the old building is fine and the contractor is going to use it to rebuild. The other buildings are going to have to wait until next spring. They were mostly used for equipment and tools, so we should be okay.

Many of the animals here require special care. As an example, there are cats who have kidney problems. We do sub-Qs on them regularly. They quickly become comfortable with the procedure because we do it the same way at the same place all the time. Right now we're doing that in my house and they are not happy at all. We also have cancer, diabetes, FIV, FeLV, CPV2 and on and on. Plus we have many on special diets. We need the medical facilities to care for these animals.

The contractor will go at it full force and we will have that building before the dead of winter. We did not have any further damage from the nor'easter that went through this week. As a matter of fact, we're looking at a warming trend starting this weekend.

Menthol crystals? I think I'm too new for that. Ready made is for me right now. So far, I've been ordering from Mr E liquid's. Their juices are made when you order and some of them have to be steeped for several days. They have an awesome ice collection that contains menthol; such as lemon ice (one of my favorites), strawberry ice and blended fruit ice liquids. When I place an order, they stick little samples in with it. Great company IMHO. Also, I keep a supply of SI's Ice Menthol. That's the one that stopped my cravings for tobacco cigarettes. I plan on keeping that in my collection... that's my "security blanket" :vapor:

It's very easy and Wizard Labs sell the crystals cheap. you just add about 1/2 gram to your 30ml bottle and shake it until the crystals dissolve. If it's not enough add a little more. I think I paid 3 or 4 dollars for a 15 gram bottle and you can't beat the flavor if you like menthol.

Officer said that he was going to be "clean" and good in an earlier post. So ........ its time to break out the heavy equipment

There you go putting words in my mouth. I said I could do one or the other but not both at the same time. I also said I would try not that I would. So I tried and I failed, hey change doesn't happen overnight so shoot me and it doesn't help when people keep baiting me either. Everyone should know by now I lack impulse control. So don't poke the Biker with a stick and everything will remain calm. :p

Sitting down, facing forward.
Happy to hear you're getting the building back up Blues. Heck, I have no idea what half of those alphabet soup problems are, but I admire you for doing what you do. You must be an extremely patient person, either that or have a handy outlet for frustration.

I was busy again today actually working. Didn't get home until 5 and just getting around to relaxing and being a pain. A little trim work, that's molding for Officer. I forgot why we bought a ranch. This was in an upstairs bedroom in a two story and if you want the joints, that's where the corners meet Officer, to be really tight they need to be "massaged". Needless to say using a miter saw in an occupied bedroom wouldn't work out well, so many trips up and down the stairs to get everything just right. If I don't have to putty anything other than nail holes I consider it a success, and this one was, but my knees are killing me.

The job was in Freehold and that made me wish I had a fireplace. There are tons of trees and large limbs down all over the place, they got over a foot of wet snow from the nor'easter. The whole time I was there the sound of chain saws never stopped.

I'm still trying to find out what kind of connector the Itaste uses for charging. The other odd thing, at least it's odd to me, is that they don't sell spare charging cables so knowing what kind of connector it is becomes kind of important.

Good to see you are alright and back in the mix. BTW thanks for taking the time to define what all those manual labor terms meant, saves me a lot of time looking them up. I tried that W___ word when I was young but apparently I have a bad allergy to it. Right in the middle of trying it for the first time all of a sudden water or something started to come out of my skin, it kinda freaked me out but I knew from that day forward I would never do that again. Who knows what might have happened, I couda died or something! The world needs people like you that can do those things without risking their lives. Thanks!

Just a concern when I didn't see you post anything today. I know some parts of NJ are having problems from the double hit of storms. I was hoping your family was all doing well.

Thanks for checking in.

Hiya Awsum,
Glad you are ok. Cleaning up is hard work. Coffee is on me today:

BTW, just a note of warning to all. When you have had a few wines is not a good time to notice the recycle bin on your pc needs emptying. So easy to click "yes" when it asks if you want to delete the recycle bin. So hard to find it again...

I do suffer from topic drift.

Thank you, thank you! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. Yesterday I tried to vape my ballpoint pen. Take my word for it, Black Ink will never make it as a nicquid flavor.

No, Marlou, you're not the only one. I swear, my black X2 looks exactly like my magic marker, and the one I have to be careful with when I'm not looking is my chrome XActo knife.

Hi Volties! I read a couple pages back "there" ... and skipped forward 40+ to this one!
After hangin in the rafters last weekend - getting started in my seasonal job this past week - now hoping the weather holds to get some more rafter time in this weekend to continue "bonding" with the air nailer!

It's my 6th season (I think) of packing fruit. My gosh I can't believe how sore my back is this year.
It was fun til last year when it became a "have to" job. Amazing how quickly those 2 words can take the fun outta something!
I've seen my fur-babies all of 10 minutes (I think) since Tues! I run in toss some grain in their buckets and run off for the day. At night I pop in to pull the buckets and give them an apple flavored vitamin treat - back to the house to get ready for the next day! Even Beethoven has become a velcro dog again. Mom said startin at 4:30 he starts lookin out the sidelight at the door - wonders over to the basement steps and looks - then back to the door til I get home. Today we went til 5 to finish some cheese gift boxes. And this is just pre-seasonal prepping! Black Friday is when everything ramps up til we are done - Dec 17 this year. Mon - Sat. 8+ hours - sometimes we have the option of staying into the evening if need be.
Sorry to put y'all to sleep ...

Now, if you empty that can out into a pastry crust, add in some onion, parsley, dill and feta, and bake it for a little while, you might have something there...did you just open up the can and start eating it, Popeye?

ooooh! Spinach Quiche! Yummmo!!!!

Awesome. I always like to end training on a positive note.

The miniature horse has been getting a little wild when I am leading him. He saw his shadow the other day and started bucking. I gotta put a stop to that. It is becoming a habit.

Ditto on the positive note! I was SO proud of Molly last Sunday! caught a ride home from the construction site w/ the farrier - she stood pretty nice! He even commented how well she did considering the little time we've had to work with her. I had not done a lot - but some work lifting her feet. Didn't want to create a monster for him.

Sorry Renolizzie - that almost seems funny - to picture a little horse bucking at the sight of his shadow!

MOON: Bummed the second "sale" went south - last night I was at our house - to get furnace going ... First time in a year - I felt "home-sick" for our home. Don't think easy living with family - no matter what the reason ... We are here for my mom ... but she doesn't know she needs our help yet. I also think as a society - we will be seeing more families pooling their resources together to help one another. So sorry to hear you also have a difficult illness to deal with.

SandySu: I see you are "browsing" this thread ... Hope you are continuing to mend and getting more and more range of motion in your shoulder!

Looks like Canvape (in Canada) sells replacement parts for the iTaste, including the cable. Once you have one too, it might be easier to shop around locally for one (like at RadioShack, a computer store, or places that specialize in cables, like SFCable or Mousers). Innokin iTaste Parts, Adaptors, Batteries

With all the rules here I can only use about half of my instigating skills You should see the stuff I stir up on the Biker forums where anything goes, no rules and no moderators. Sometimes when I leave there and come here I end up deleting a post after I realize where I'm at. So many missed opportunities...
You just have to learn to instigate nicely Officer. There are no missed opportunities you just have to be creative

First of all down here in the South we use cattle prods we find that is more humane, besides you can bruise or break a bone with a stick.
Second are part catfish or something that requires bait to be reeled in?
Just asking. I was always told there were no stupid questions
