GOOD MORRRRRNING VOLTIES :headbang: (Yelled just like Robin Williams in Good Morning Vietnam LOL)

My new Nano still works, but this AM, massive vapor and no taste!. Hey Bluesman let me know about the tank cartos will you. I love the SI stainless long cartos for taste and vapor and would be willing to try them with a tank if you give them the

Sorry to be late, but I had a lot of other duties this AM. Hope everyone is chipper and perking along today.

Holly, the tanks are not an SI product, and I probably shouldn't name any names here. If you search for "DCT tank" you'll find a bunch of places that have them. I'm not sure, but I don't think I ever found any for an 808 cartomizer. If you buy the longer DCT tanks you'll have to buy the SI XL cartos. Or buy the shorter DCT tank that fit the SI regular cartos. This is what they look like:

View attachment 158017

A hole is made near the bottom of the carto and that feeds juice to the carto. You fill the carto with juice and then push the carto into the tank but not all the way. Then fill the tank with juice and finally pushing the carto in so that it lays somewhat flush with the top and bottom. Add a drip tip and you're off vaping. This works best on the manual X2 batteries. A few powerless draws (don't push the button), and you'll get the air pressure right so that the juice in the tank feeds the carto.

This means less time filling your carto and more time vaping. The cartos seem to last longer with this method. As you can see, if you're going to vape this way, you must like vaping with a cartomizer.

I might not have explained all this well. If you have questions, I'll gladly answer them. Also a "DCT tank" search on google will pick up some videos to watch.

There are a number of different ways to put the hole (or two) in the cartomizer. There are a number of products sold for carto hole punching. I just use a 1/4" saddle valve that I bought at Home Depot. Often times the vaping vendors sell you a tank with a dual coil cartomizer. It's kind of a waste because you're not going to use that carto. You're going to be using SI's. If you look, you'll find vendors that just sell the tank and end caps.

I love SI's cartomizers. They are really good. And this gives me a way of vaping with the SI cartomizer without constant re-filling.

I hope I didn't confuse you.

Is that sort of how the nano works but on a smaller scale? If I understand you correctly, the nano is like a carto because there is filler inside the tube but you can see the liquid. I think the reason I don't like carts is because I vape them dry because I'm not aware of it drying out. When I would refill them, I did notice a slight brown (burnt?) around the edge of the filler...

The powerless draws is what I do with the nanos to create the vacuum. Maybe I'll try the carto's again... just won't let them dry out! I have so many just sitting in the box. Stainless that really look better on the X2's with a cone & matching color soft tip.

Thanks Blues! You have shown me the error of my ways!!!! :thumb:

My apologies to all carto users. I was the one messing them up.

Morning music: Chains - Cookies - YouTube

I've always been familiar with the Beatles' version, but then I discovered that it was a cover of this version by The Cookies. The 2 versions are similar, except for the voices, of course. I hope you all enjoy. For some reason, this song has always appealed to me. I think it's the simple solid structure and harmony.

If any of you would like to revisit the 1950s, here is your chance. This video is somewhat long, but memorializes many of the great things we loved about this era. You young whippersnappers will not even recognize some of these memories. ENJOY !

The great husband and wife song writers Gerry Goffin and Carole King wrote that song. The Cookies version was always my favorite. That should not be taken as anything bad about the Beatles. I did like the Beatles. But this early R&B stuff was really good.

Thanks for posting that SandySu. You've been knockin' through some cobwebs in my brain lately.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Rabbit. I was there for almost all of that and wonder if a few things came back in style if it wouldn't be better somehow.

I'm doing my bit. This Christmas, I decided to give kids some of the toys I remember enjoying: a Slinky, Pick Up Sticks, and a kaleidoscope. None of the gifts I'm giving require batteries nor do they light up or talk or sing. I wonder how these gifts will go over with modern kids. They may lose interest quickly; then again, they may be a novelty and fascinate. Also, these old-fashioned toys are a lot cheaper, a plus, since I'm out of work till my arm is ready for heavy lifting and reaching high over my head.

More on DCT meets SI. I don't want to post names here because that's not fair to SI. I do want to point out that I am not taking anything away from SI. I use all SI products except the tank, which is not in their product line.

After further review, you can get DCT tanks for 808 cartomizers. ( A quick search found some.)

The reason this is important is 808 threading vs. 510 threading. 808 = inside, 510 = outside. I used 510 tanks but had to cut them down to leave a little room for the threading to fit on the battery.

But they work perfectly and now you have about 3 ml of juice for the small cartomizers and about 6 ml for the xl cartomizers. I guess they are kind of like the nanos. Although I've never used a nano. However, in using a DCT, the tank lasts forever. You just replace the carto.

By the way, I'm only mentioning this for those who use cartomizers. If you don't like cartomizers, this isn't going to make it better, just easier.

No matter what you like, keep on vaping!!!

I think they will love them. Remember jacks? The heavy metal ones not the lightweights that are out now. I still have some... about 18 left. The grands love and want to take them home. I say no way... enjoy while you're here. Occupies them for hours, especially when we all play together. Board games too... Candyland, Monopoly, checkers... IMO, kids today still enjoy them and need a break from electronics.

I am glad everyone liked the back to the 50s video, my wife found that ages ago and watches it several times a year.

Hey Bluesman, you need to stop tempting me with more mods. I have been investigating your DCTs and I think I will just wait for the T3 from SI while using my Nano for awhile. I just have to stop spending on this vaping thing, it is becoming a hobby LOL.

I had jacks and Candyland in mind, too, but these kids are pretty young for those. I remember that jacks took a lot of coordination. Another board game I particularly loved playing with my childhood friend was Mr. Ree. I wonder if they still have that one. I also considered tiddly winks but decided that might be difficult for little kids. Christmas shopping for children is so much fun! Adults on my list -- well, that's another matter. I think they'll all get wine. After all, I live in wine country here.

To this day, the best time I ever have at family parties is when I play Uno with the kids! :)

Wow Rabbit... I remembered most of that.. I was singing along with the commercials. Definitely remember spankings from the receiving end. I went to Catholic school and wore the same pair of saddle oxfords for my entire 4 years of high school... had to keep them polished. I hated those shoes but they lasted... they could not be destroyed.

Thanks for the memories! :)

I guess you mean the BB gun. No, they aren't old enough, and I'm not sure the parents would approve.

I found out Mr. Ree is out of print, but there are old ones for sale. Nope, not going to pay a lot for a used board game for the kids. If anyone is curious (as I was) about this game, see eBay Guides - Mr. Ree The board game that inspired Clue

Since they are little... what about big crayons and a BIG coloring book. All little kids love those. A word of warning though... make sure you get each of them the same book. One time I made the mistake of getting each one a different book. There was war in my living room that year! The same book for each promotes peace and occupied them for quite some time.

Gee, and I begged for a pair of saddle shoes. Finally, my mom got them for me to wear to school. I was in heaven, being suddenly stylish. Of course, that was upper elementary school. By high school, I think they were out of vogue. I think then penny loafers were in.

We always have Uno. It's a staple at most family gatherings. We always need two decks though. Adults have their table because they can play too cutthroat for the kids... and CHEAT! So there is a more family friendly table set up as well. Bottom line... Uno ROCKS!
