Good news, Uncle!!!

This evening I got good news from my doctor's office. Last year my blood sugar was a little high but the results of last weeks test show it's back to normal. I've been making changes in my diet little by little.

The bad thing is that when I heard the good news my first thought was to go down the street and get a candy bar to celebrate.

 How Dare "You" Have The Same Thought As I Did - except "My" candy was a large piece of Fruit . . .

Seriously - CONGRATULATIONS ! ! !

That is so cool, Marlou. Congrats for making little changes that are adding up to big results.

Checking voltages under no load conditions, either the battery or charger, may not be very helpful. I monitor charge current and charge voltage while charging on the batteries I have so far, and will be rigging an adapter so I can monitor charge current and voltage when I get the "18" series batteries I ordered. A battery can show "full charge" voltage under no load and as soon as even a minimal load is applied it can drop dramatically if the battery is getting "tired" for example.

Mostly it would allow you to know if the charger is overcharging. And also setting up a good habit of paying attention to these systems as they are advanced and not just assemble and vape, especially if going to "stacked battery" models.

Hubby said it was a ghost town when he drove through tonite.

When I first moved to Reno about 14 years ago, my new friends and I decided to go to Street Vibrations in downtown Reno.

There was an awesome band playing and this guy with no teeth was trying to dance with me. I was laughing so hard. Then he says "I like you. You are pretty." My friends were like "Yeah, you have teeth." Reno is fun when there are bands playing and good times rolling.

OMG!!!! H I L A R I O U S !!!!!

Good night, all. I hope we hear from Rave. Maybe her messages will be here when I check in the morning. I've been wondering how she and Blues are doing. I hope everything has been OK.

Here's some local water, since it's been raining all day. I think it's supposed to rain tomorrow, too.

That's good news Mary! At least you just thought about that candy bar but didn't get it... way to go!!! Celebrate with a good candy vape instead. :)

Hi there Volties!

You've all probably received a bucket-load of "likes" because I can't stand to miss a single post. I have to backread and catch up completely. The problem with doing that is that there is far too much to respond to properly. Chances are, you'll forgive me.

You've been wondering what the heck happened to Rave and Blues. Well, things could be better. Blues came down with "a cold" that they were afraid could turn into pneumonia. He finally seems to be getting over that. But, he's still not doing well. I really can't go into detail without violating confidences.

I've been trying to keep him company (online) and keep his spirits up. Sometimes I don't do such a good job. Like when my spirits aren't up. I do my best to hide it, but it doesn't always work.

Neither of us have felt very sociable. He would still like to make it back here, but is not sure that will happen. He will if he can. If he can't, it isn't because he doesn't like you folks. He has told me that he really thinks that you folks are great.

Of course, I've been worried sick about him. And, I've got my own issues going on as well. My MS has been messin' with me. It seems like I can't seem to keep my left arm out of the brace. And, both of my arms have gone cold. I'm told that they aren't physically cold to the touch, they just feel that way to me. This is different from my normal peripheral neuropathy. The frightening thing about this (to me) is that is how my MS actted when it first sunk its teeth in. My right side went cold. Then it all hit the fan. So - I'm a little nervous.

Anyhow - I just wanted to give you good folks an update. I may not talk much for awhile. I may just lurk in the background if ya don't mind. You'll see my "likes" and know when I'm here.

"RAVE" - As long as "You" are taking care of yourself - that is all that matters to "Me" . . . AND - as for "Blues" - it is good to know he is improving . . . My thoughts are with YOU BOTH . . . Truly Hoping "You" Both are on the road to recovery . . . {{{{ HUGS }}}}

So - Lurk - Post - Just "like" a Post . . . Whatever "YOU" Choose to do is alright with "Me" - It is all I really need to know "You" are doing the best "You" can at the moment . . .

Thanks for giving us an update, Rave. I hope you and Blues feel better soon. Have you been to the doctor about this latest development? is there anything that can be done to help?

Dear Rave and Blues,

Sorry to hear that both of you are experiencing some additional health problems. Unfortunately all we can do is pray that you will be blessed with improved health and send good vibes your way, which we all will do. I also hope that some of my crazy humor will allow a laugh or two to brighten your day. View attachment 173400

As you all know, I have been PMing some of you and posting on line about the Vamo and the virtues - mainly the price and value. Now one of the downsides. Reading the forum, there have been instances where a simple tipping over of the the PV has caused the screen to fail, buttons to stop working and more. It appears that the electronics inside are not secured very well on some models (which ones I do not know but I think it was in the earily production cycle). Also, these larger PVs are huge and everyone tends to stand them up vertically rather than laying them down, which leads to tipping them over. I suggest if you purchase one to make a very simple stand with a piece of wood 3/4 " thick 4" X 4" and drill a 25 mm hole to support the Vamo vertically.

With MS, it's always a "wait and see" scenario. My neurologist typically wants for me to wait at least a week after a symptom appears. The body can often re-myelinate damage. Typically, I won't go to a doctor unless forced to because I need to get labs or a prescription renewed. I have no health insurance and am uninsurable.

Interestingly - the only things that seems to help my symptoms are vaping ... or illegal.

Thanks everyone. You folks are family to me.

Sitting down, facing forward.

The best way to use a multimeter to check charge voltage is to check the voltage while the charger is charging a battery. Battery voltage can "float" up after a charge and a multimeter does not provide enough load to make it drop to its "real" voltage. This is easy to day with 14x, 16x or 18x series batteries and chargers but can be a problem with mini USB, 808 or 510 connections, no way to get to the contacts with the meter probes. One of the "inline" volt meters for vaping might work, but I've only seen them in 510 which means a set of adapters, 510/808 and 808/510, to make that work.

hi duster...does this multimeter work for checking x2 batts.. if so where would I buy one? thanks

A multimeter will work to check any battery, but (there's always a but) it's a little hard to do since you need three hands, one for each meter probe and one to press the button on the battery. Checking an auto battery is actually a little easier since you can put the LED end in your mouth, touch the probes to the battery terminals while watching in a mirror, and then blow through the battery to operate the air switch. Again though, batteries can show higher than normal voltages with no load present, even regulated ones like the X2 and mini batteries.

Multimeters can be bought at stores like Radio Shack and most auto supply stores or online. It might be better to get a basic battery tester from a place like Radio Shack or online. They, at least, place a load on the battery when they are used.

Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it. Your results and mileage may vary. No warranty or guarantee is expressed or implied. Proceed at your own risk.
