With MS, it's always a "wait and see" scenario. My neurologist typically wants for me to wait at least a week after a symptom appears. The body can often re-myelinate damage. Typically, I won't go to a doctor unless forced to because I need to get labs or a prescription renewed. I have no health insurance and am uninsurable.

Interestingly - the only things that seems to help my symptoms are vaping ... or illegal.

Thanks everyone. You folks are family to me.

Rave... without your going into explanations here about insurance coverage, there is a website that really helps my husband and I (as his caregiver) with all similar issues. I give him a daily injection of a medication called Copaxone. On it's own it's prohibitively expensive... in the range of $4,000 a month. We only pay $16 a month. There is also help given for the uninsured and underinsured as well. Maybe there is help here for you too.

This has really helped him. Hope it may help you too. :)

The best way to use a multimeter to check charge voltage is to check the voltage while the charger is charging a battery. Battery voltage can "float" up after a charge and a multimeter does not provide enough load to make it drop to its "real" voltage. This is easy to day with 14x, 16x or 18x series batteries and chargers but can be a problem with mini USB, 808 or 510 connections, no way to get to the contacts with the meter probes. One of the "inline" volt meters for vaping might work, but I've only seen them in 510 which means a set of adapters, 510/808 and 808/510, to make that work.

A multimeter will work to check any battery, but (there's always a but) it's a little hard to do since you need three hands, one for each meter probe and one to press the button on the battery. Checking an auto battery is actually a little easier since you can put the LED end in your mouth, touch the probes to the battery terminals while watching in a mirror, and then blow through the battery to operate the air switch. Again though, batteries can show higher than normal voltages with no load present, even regulated ones like the X2 and mini batteries.

Multimeters can be bought at stores like Radio Shack and most auto supply stores or online. It might be better to get a basic battery tester from a place like Radio Shack or online. They, at least, place a load on the battery when they are used.

Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it. Your results and mileage may vary. No warranty or guarantee is expressed or implied. Proceed at your own risk.
awsum ive read a few things on things to look for...to know when to get rid of batts...so how long do you think these x2s will last...yes I know 300 chargers...but whos counting...not me...I guess what im saying...as long as therers no bad smells...or they dont feel hot to touch..is there other signs to watch for...?

We are having a lovely Komodo Dragon coffee this morning.

It is warm overnight and is 41 degrees but it is windy!!!!

Hubby fed the little horse. The horse was pushing all of his hay out of the feeder [like he always does:0]. The wind caught the hay and made it roll a few inches. Wiseguy jumped backwards "It's going to get me!" Scared himself. Then, not to be deterred from his favoriote activity, he started eating on his grass hay.

I had to give Hubby the talk. I caught him trying to feed the horse alfalfa. Oh no you don't. That little horse gets grass hay and grass hay only.

Let me get this straight? I paid $9.95 for my Trustfire Multifunctional Charger and the UBA5 is on sale for $995.00 or 100 times more expensive just to charge a $10.00 battery for a $50 PV Mod. OK $9.95 or $995.00? Is that a choice or what?

Hey Aswam, I can't even rub my head and pat my tummy at the same time.

If I tried that I would either drop my PV down the sink, or measure the voltage of my nose!

I would love to see a picture of Debra in the bathroom, looking into the mirror sucking on an X2 while holding two multimeter probes and touching them to the tiny battery terminals. Now that would be a HOOT! Besides that, once you get everyting set and blow or suck on the automatic, you then need to look down to see the results on the multimeter without moving the probes or droping the X2 and your mouth would glow from the LED:facepalm:

It sounds like you are miffed? No offense intended, just my stupid sense of humor.

I realize that to get extremely accurate results you need sophisticated equipment.

Debra, you'll know when an X2 is on its way out when it goes dead before you think it should or just won't come up to a full charge, the charge light won't go out. Getting hot to the touch when charging is another indicator of end of life for them and, of course, any overheating while in use is a plain signal to not use them. Other than that, just keep on vaping them.

I just got back from running errands and taking Spanky for a NICE long walk. It's sunny and close to 65 degrees! I like it springlike but boy what a jump from yesterday's icy rain, not 30 degree weather. Tomorrow's prediction is closer to 70 degrees then it will dip back down to the low 30's.

As far as hubbies goes... your's sneaks Wiseguy alfalfa... mine sneaks Spanky french fries. I caught him giving the second helping and boy did I let him have it.

I want your weather! It's warmer here (about 40), but not sunny. It wasn't raining, though, when I left for my physical therapy appointment, so I decided to walk. When I was finished and ready to leave, it was pouring! It was a wet walk home, but no real harm done. I just had to change out of wet clothes when I got home. On the way, I passed a lady walking her dog. She said, "Sometimes it's nice to walk in the rain." Well, I wasn't in the mood and could hardly wait till I got home and dry. Now it looks like it's stopped. Sigh!

That happened to me yesterday, took Bo out for is noontime walk and it was just sprinkling rain. By the time we got back it was pouring and both of us were soaked, and it was kind of cool, about 35. Oh well, it was only water and we stand under the shower every day anyway so what's an extra dose? (other than it was too darn cold!)

Hi, Rave. Whenever you see this, I just want you to know I'm thinking of you and Blues. If you think of it, give him my regards when you speak to him.

I pray that your symptoms go away and don't lead to a full episode. I'm also praying for Blues to get past this setback. You both have unusually heavy crosses to bear. I wish there was a way to lighten the load. Prayers and good vibes headed to you both.

Thanks JoAnn - I've already Pm'd ya. I've been on Copaxone through Shared Solutions for years!! Now - why on earth would a one month supply of this stuff cost over $4,000? Sure am glad I don't have to pay for it cuz I couldn't. Not on the small amount that I get from SS Disability!

Thank you Marlou - and everyone. Yeah - we all have crosses to bear. You just learn to live with it and adapt or go flippin' nuts. I'm already nuts, so my only option is to adapt. :)
