Here's another summer scene to warm us all up. Can't you just feel yourself lying in the grass and hearing the bees buzzing?

IMG_1934_zpsefee5b8f.jpeg

And I need to think "warm" today, because I'm off to see Penny and check how she's doing after getting stuck. I hear she's moving much better, so maybe I'll do a full grooming and clean out her feet, which I had planned to do Sunday before the incident.

Yes, the grandparent thing, I don't think I really get the full benefit, they have only asked me to help because her Mom (just a few minutes drive away) had knee surgery. I don't live within a convenient drive distance, so I go to their house when they need me. I've accepted that I'm just not going to be the "go to" Grandma, but there are benefits to that as well. I use the time we spend together as best I can so that he will know me and have fun, as he gets older it will be easier. He has never been to my house without his parents, sigh. Basically, I have been babysitting both grandson and dil, lol! They have a nanny lined up for help when the twins are born, and have kept my grandson in his 3 days a week daycare schedule as he was before dil went on maternity leave. My son works odd hours, 2 days AMs, 2 PMs, Fri-Mon, so scheduling has been hard for them. About to get WAY harder too I think, (no, I'm laughing with them, not at them ;) )

I know you can't wait until those new babies get here. Start saving those $$$ now because you won't be able to save any when they finally arrive! ;)

I try to picture the goal, but it's been so long! I wanted and expected to be fully functional by now. Sigh! What is, is. All I can do is keep working toward it.

Are they doing trigger point on you? I really respond to this technique. Yes, it hurts when they press on a sore spot, but it's a good kind of hurt. And a moment before the muscle releases, I breathe in a different way, like the kind of breathing you do when you're sleeping, you know? Deeper, more relaxed breaths. This is not something I do consciously, it just happens, and a moment later, the muscle releases. I've copied what the PT does when I'm home, and it really helps, especially after the exercises, when the muscles are sore from moving them as far as they'll go. The new PT suggested rolling a ball over the muscles, and that really helps and is more gentle than the pressure I was using, though sometimes I think I need to use the pressure, too. I just go with what feels right. I can't reach my back to work on it, and I was just saying to the old PT, who I saw for the last time last Thursday, that I needed to invent some sort of device to do that. A couple of days later, I got a catalog in the mail that had such a device! I started reading reviews and discovered another that got slightly better reviews, though nearly everyone liked the first one, too. Here they are, in case you're interested. Amazon.com: Thera Cane Massager: Health & Personal Care and Amazon.com: Body Back Buddy: Health & Personal Care but shop around for better prices, since I just referred you to Amazon for the reviews. Another purchase I'm thinking of is the book, Amazon.com: The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook: Your Self-Treatment Guide for Pain Relief, Second Edition (9781572243750): Clair Davies, Amber Davies, David G. Simons: Books which seems to be the classic on this technique. Before I buy anything, I'm going to ask the new PT, who I'll see on Thursday, what he thinks, but I probably will at least get the book if not also the Body Back Buddy. Or maybe I'll see about what kind of firmer ball I can put under my back and roll around on it. The one I have, which came with my sling, is softer than a tennis ball, and it just squashes when I put it under my back. I even tried putting it between my back and the wall, thinking at least it wouldn't have my body weight squashing it, and it wasn't firm enough. The new PT suggested a tennis ball, which I don't have, and I was wondering if even that would be firm enough.

Any feedback or suggestions? What do you think of all this?

I have a theracane and the Trigger Point Therapy Workbook: Your Self-Treatment Guide for Pain Relief, Second Edition book. Both are excellent. Since I live alone, the thera cane really comes in handy in those hard to reach trigger spots. The book is really good and has a lot of good info. I recommend both!

I'll be glad when my grand kids are old enough to take fishing, hiking in the woods, and be able to be around the horses.I'm hoping when they are old enough to bale hay that they still love riding the tractors.
You all have a GREAT day

Umm - hope they don't pull a "Maynnard G Crebbs" on ysh! :D

Sandy - try a tennis ball ... that's what my team recommends. Yes trigger points, Lyle sometimes 'practices pickin his guitar' on the shoulder blade .... some days Mike (dept head) just 'holds hands' stretching & waiting for the release. Gives a whole new meaning to the kid song about the foot bone connected to the ankle hone ....

They specialize in deep tissue work (myofacia). Mike nearly quit 25 years ago because of frustration w/ chronic pain cases. He looked around and found this - The field of awareness is growing. All I know is he did more for me in 3 months than 25-30 years of chiropractic - which is why I drive 30 miles instead of 7.

Onto pressing crisis of the moment - anyone know how to get diesel fuel out of clothes?!?!!! I don't think the fuel gauge is very accurate. Right out into the coat pocket down the bibs! Peeeee yewww!!! Even a small spot leaked thru to my jeans. Sniff sniff - favorite pair of leather gloves ... LOL - all I've got now is a parka from 100 lbs ago!
Tossed a couple cups baking soda in after a rinse & spin ....
At least the X2 was safely a little higher up!

Yeaaaaa! The horses are starting to shed here too!
Come on Spring!

ETA: some days this Tablet is for the birds ... constant typo's w/ finger pecking ... go figure!

I'm using SmokTek Ressurctors 2 laser hole punched XL cartos and they have been working good for me.

The ones I purchased are The Smoktech.com single coil 510 DCT-2 double laser punched XLs 3.0 Ohms direct from Smoktech.com. Since I have 5 of them, and I have only tried one, I will attempt to try the rest. The other problem which many have with the Vamo is that if you screw the tank tightly down on the threads, you block all of the air holes and you cannot draw. I solved that by placing a small strip of paper between the tank and the base of the Vamo which provides the air space. Anyway, I still enjoy the tanks with the SI XL cartos which I can easily slot. My new Atemas Tank from Mad Vapes looks great and vapes well.

Hey Rabbit, I know you have a Dremel, just pick up a metal bit and cut a groove or two into the head of the Vamo. Alternately, drill an air hole or two. There's plenty of room to do that as well and that might be a little more "elegant". I'm toying with the idea of "turning" the base of a T3 down to fit into the well of the Vamo. It looks like may a thirty second or less will do the trick and who needs all those knurled knobs anyway?

Aha! Tec's to the rescue!
A mini lathe in the works eh? Brillant idea!

Besides the batt convenience ... what other features do you guys like on the Vamo? Do you use the variability feature much?

I used 1.8 coil @ 4 ?Watts? from Nov 30? to mid Feb - clear menthol only ... rinsed 1 x per week. Still going strong used mainly in the evenings. Now trying the same experiment on an X2 ... so far so good.
The theory being higher heat (?) Less junk - better longer lasting performance. The cartos also seem to be lasting much better too. So, Once again putting those slim lil 78's back to work having had the past 5 months off .... They fit the back pocket so nice! :D

Nope, no mini lather, just a drill, a Dremel and a, hopefully, steady hand LOL. I'm actually waiting to see if a T3 head wears out before I try that, just in case.

I do use the variability feature of the Vamo quite a bit. Some flavors taste better and have better throat hit at higher wattages than others. I do keep it in the "RMS" mode all the time simply because if I switch from a T3 to a Vivi Nova the taste stays the same because the wattage is maintained so well. Being able to pop in a spare battery, or set of batteries, is also a big plus. My big complaint is that it's so darn big I usually jsut use it when chilling out on the couch, although I do use it in the car as well.

I still use 78mm a lot and X2s when out walking the dog. My iTatse gets some use as well, walking the dog, driving or chillin. I was looking at a co-op for the iTaste SVD, but I really don't need yet another device when all the ones I already have do what they're supposed to do so well and it uses the same chip set as the Vamo.

Still, after all is said and done, the 78mm just can't be beat for convenience and performance.

Is there a reason you chose to buy the Thera Cane rather than the Body Back Buddy?

Have you tried a tennis ball? Is it sturdy enough not to squash?

As for diesel, I have no idea. I've always owned gas vehicles, and the gas pumps click off when the tank is full. Have you searched the Internet? I bet there are suggestions galore.

Now you see why I had to try the Provari. Some juices taste better with a warmer vape and others need to be a cooler vape.

That's what I like about the evic. It has holes built in so when you have a tight fit, there is always air holes. Awsum sounds like he came up with a good idea too.

Sandy / Tail - that gadget looks intriguing ... the statement of 10 - 20 seconds to release sounds like it only works more on the surface ... I will show it to the guys tomorrow tho ... I'm game to try most anything.

When I was having hamstring problems, I'd use a tennis ball and a softball at my hip and grind it in. It hurt like heck while I was doing it, but after a few minutes it really helped. I use the thera cane for my lower back/hip area.

I'm lucky my chiropractor uses trigger point therapy along with chiropractic. He's shown me a lot of tips/tricks over the years for my pains.

I bought mine years ago from my chiropractor who highly recommended it. I know nothing of the body back buddy so I can only recommend the thera cane.

In other words, you didn't decide that was the better choice. I thought the Body Back Buddy might be better because it has different-sized knobs, so you have more choice about which work best for you. Also, the reviews said it's stiffer; they said the Thera Cane has some bend to it. I thought stiffer might give me more control of the pressure. The only disadvantage I read about is that it's a little more bulky for packing when you travel. I don't do a lot of traveling, so that's not a top consideration for me. Oh yes. The Thera Cane has a 2-year guarantee, but no one said either of them broke before 2 years was up. In fact, they both sounded fairly indestructible.

Tennis balls - no I've not tried it - I keep 8 in the dryer ...
One of my kids has ... SIL has back of the neck for (ready?) "Numbskull"!
They are harder than you think! For the back use it on your bed!
Kicking myself for not thinking of it in Nov!
Wayyyyy to sore right now to consider it ...

Yeah - internet - diesel - I emptied the last shy cup of NON-sudsing Ammonia, ? 8 cups? Baking soda (big bag from Sams) and aprox 1/2 of a 4.5 lb container of Gojo in a 5 gallon bucket of HOT Water, stir to be sure dissolved ... poured over the clothes. The one and only time I've ever missed my old washing machine. This one never seems to have water in it where you can see it ... bathroom already smells better!
