Sitting down, facing forward.
Woke up to snow. Not enough to be a worry at all, just enough to be a pain in the ..... It does look nice since it is a wet snow and is in all the trees, but ENOUGH ALREADY! It's supposed to warm up later today, we're at 31 right now, so it won't last, but still I'd like to see some real sunshine for more than an hour or two.

always love him....he just dosnt know i still do.....i broke up with him....cause he wanted kids..........im over that crap......i cant ignore him....he thinks where still good friends....rock and a hard place...i just have to play actress better....:D

I'm not sure playing actress is a good way to lead your life. If it's too painful, stop seeing him. Maybe you should explain to him what's going on in your head, that you still love him but don't want children. Maybe not. Only you can decide that. But pretending is definitely not the way to go.

We have the same, but it's not unusual here. We did get about 2 days of partial sun recently. At least we got a reminder of what the sun looks like. We have less than an inch out there, so it's not going to be a serious inconvenience.

Well you can buy children... It's a new trend, many actors do it :D
Good morning Sandy.

I think Deb doesn't want children, so why would she want to adopt one? She raised her share, and I guess she isn't interested in starting over again. I know how she feels, having done the same. Fortunately, so has Bill, so we are both on the same page as far as that goes. It's hard to be in a relationship where one person wants children and the other doesn't. One of my daughter's friends is in this situation. She wants them but the man she loves doesn't and made it plain. She married him anyway, but still she wishes she could have kids. So far, they are still together, so I guess she figured it was a sacrifice that was worth it.

Geothermal is the best way to go, has a low cost and it works all the time. Just put a large tube on the ground and pump heat from the earth, minimum power is required.

A house with all those would be anyone's dream house. Would probably be the coolest thing.

Hey Kon, that is exactly what I did three years ago! I did heat with and oil furnace/boiler using approximately $3,800.00 (US) or $2902.00 (Euros) just for oil. My electric bill only went up an average of $400 so I am saving $3,400.00 per year US. My investment payback is about 6.7 years, so I am almost 1/2 of the way there. I also watch and track my usage daily on charts, using an inexpensive device called ENVI Power Meter which shows my usage on a little LCD screen by my computer and tracks it daily. I also write down my usage from the meter to make my charts. Less carbon footprint, savings, and just a cool device. You do have to adjust to the "type" of heat. It is not a blast of hot air like an oil furnace. The house just stays at a constant temperature and the compressor unit runs almost constantly in the winter. The cooling in the summer is where I get most of my savings. It is super efficient in cooling mode.

Thank you that was what i wanted to hear. Even for a simple system it WORKS.

You hear that Roland you infidel???? Non believer :D :D

----edit----
Write down?? You can install meters with RS485 or tcp/ip and get all the data on a computer. Much more easier to store and manage data.
Maybe if you install a Niagara AX platform with a jace you could interface and control everything on the house including the systems you have now and future ones.
That will set you back 1-2-3K USD.

Good morning Volties and Happy Friday. No snow here but sunshine and very high winds with the promise of warming up this weekend.

I have also enjoyed reading the posts for the past couple of days. Learned a lot about power grids etc. I'm just thankful for electricity... don't think I could be without it for more than a couple of hours...

Love all the flower photos Sandy. Spring can't come fast enough for me. :)

Another idea Kon,

Rather than solar, I added a sunroom to my house 20 years ago from a magazine article. It is actually a greenhouse with a brick floor (now covered with carpet). I did have a woodstove inside but years ago I got tired of splitting wood and the associated mess of the ash and smoke. I heated the whole house with wood for 15 years or so and saved a lot of cash that would have been spent on oil. We use this room 100% of the time for our computers. Inside the temperature is controlled by a small computer. When the temperature rises to 70 degrees a fan ducts the air at the cieling to our second floor (now unused - the kids are all grown) but it keeps the space at a reasonable temperature in the summer or when I used the wood stove. The sunroom faces directly South and captures a LOT of sun and warmth all year around, so in the summer we do need the shades. You would think I am an environmental nut, but I am actually not, I just like to save money if I can.

Good thinking Rabbit.
You can heat water for the bath with sun too but you also can redirect hot water to the air conditioning for extra heat on the geothermal.
There are solar water panels on the market.
You can also store very hot water on the basement on insulated tanks and they can be used for heating too.

if you have ideas and money everything can be done. (can even buy humans and use them as spare parts for other humans)
