Deb, good call on talking to the bouncer. She was probably soused. You can't reason with a drunk.

I'm sitting down for my second cup of coffee. I fed the critters and then decided I better get out the hula hoe for another round of weeding. I'm keeping the cheat grass out of most of my acreage and we are getting lupines this year. Little dwarf desert lupines. They are poisonous to the goats and the horse. I'm trying to get all of those before they bloom and go to seed. Looks like a few of the ones I weeded out today were starting to bloom so I better stay on top of this.

The needle and thread grass is also starting to develop seed heads. We thought it was pretty when it first showed up in the yard and then we realized it was terrible stuff. The seeds really are like needles with a long thread on them. They got in our clothes and our socks, the dogs fur. What a mess! I have been trying to get rid of it ever since but it looks like I need to work on that for one more year. A fair amount of it is coming up.

I have a short list of things to get done today. All of them a lot of digging and weeding:) Looks like it will be nice out.

Off to dig up hardy geraniums to store for future transplanting. I need to put my colored yarrow [yellow and purple if I remember right] I dug up into the ground. Ooops, sdg that up a few days ago and has been sitting there ever since. No worries, it's pretty tough stuff.

Hubby sounds pretty motivated to help me wrap up a bunch of loose ends around here this year. Yeah!!!!! He had me make a list and he put finishing the cross fencing and making brackets for the sliding doors for the shed. Also, fixing the horse trailer's spring holder bracket thingey. Along with other assorted items.

Well, the coffee is about gone and it is time to see what other kind of trouble I can get into.

No, I only crochet, and can't do much of that, because of an arthritic joint in my right thumb. I only collect it. Here is the reason why bobbin lace is called bobbin lace:
shiftin-bobbins.jpg
Tatting uses a shuttle, which is similar to a bobbin, except that there is only one. Generally speaking, tatting is to bobbin lace what crochet is to knit. Yes, a very frequent design in bobbin lace is weaving, but there are a lot of others.

I have been watching this area while in the process of earning points towards an X2. Nice little club, I see quite a horsey bunch, too. :)

The situation in the bar: That makes cigalikes safer against crazies.

Yarrow has many uses. Especially as a foundation planting, because it repels insects.

It sounds like you have a lot to do, Lizzie. You always amaze me with your energy. How many times have I envisioned the Energizer Bunny when reading your posts? (I know, I know, Wabbit is our honorary bunny, but we can have more than one, can't we?)

Here, it's another lovely spring day. I have a PT appointment this afternoon with a new person. She was there last week and observed the guy who I've been seeing, but he only comes to the local office every 2 weeks, so I was having PT every 2 weeks. I guess weekly will be better, even if it's 2 different people. Besides, maybe 2 different perspectives is better than one.

We had a gray day yesterday with heavy rain in the evening, and my shoulder hurt. I don't know if it's from that jerk I gave it last Sunday dismounting, or if it was the weather. It's hard to tell what makes it hurt sometimes and not others, or why one day, one part will hurt, and another part is the sore one a few days later. Of course, when I do my exercises, I get a real idea of which part is most sore.

So, after PT, I think I'll go do some more shelf organizing at the library. It's been a while since I was there. I think I have all sorts of spare time, and then I don't get to the library as often as I had planned.

Tomorrow, I'll probably go give Penny a long grooming and let her graze on the lawn. Shedding season makes grooming extra fulfilling, since I can see so much hair come loose. It's always gratifying to see big results.

Sunday, we plan to ride again. Probably we'll take a slow, short trail ride. The horses and humans have to get back into shape. I have to think how I want to dismount without hurting my shoulder. Rethinking all this, which I always took for granted, is a challenge.

The needle and thread grass reminds me of foxtails, which were a problem in California, but not here. Do you have them out there? Here, our big problem with sticking in hair and coats is burdocks. They tangle in the hair, but they aren't generally harmful like foxtails, thank goodness.

Are hardy geraniums different from the kind with fuzzy leaves that smell good when you rub them? There's a kind of wildflower here that I was told was a geranium that looks nothing like the fuzzy kind, but I've seen similar flowers in gardens, and I wonder if that's what they are. See the photo below.

This is the kind in gardens, which is very similar to the wild geraniums.

These are the wild geraniums. You can see why I think the garden variety must be the same.

I love horse grooming:)

The purple ones are them although mine are blueish.

I'm working on making the yard a bit easier and finishing up some projects so I can be less energizer bunny and more "hanging out reading a book".

This is the year to wrap up a bunch of projects. I have a short but significant list for next year. I want two porch covers. A big one in the back that would be a patio cover and a small porch in the front to keep the sun, wind and rain from beating on the front door.

Busy morning for everyone it seems. I helped Debra post an additional Volt image with Imagine, and then decided to mix up some e-juice, but found out I was out of caramel, so had to place an order with Wizard Labs and ended up buying some additional flavors and more nic juice in PG. I tried to mix a strawberry cream recipe but it did not taste very strawberry-iy so I am letting it steep and may add more flavoring later. I still love my Dbl RY4 mix with a touch of orange and peach. It is still my 1/2 day vape and cheap to make. I have dozens of other flavors and have found none that compare. After steeping for 1 month the M type tobacco and the English tobaccos are actually not bad at all, but no distinct pleasurable flavors like the Dbl RY4 mix.

I need to get to my garden, but it is still chilly here, so that will have to wait. Mrs. Wabbit signed up for a TV show to come to the house tomorrow and test out some baking equipment for cupcakes, so I need to get the kitchen super clean and straightened up if it is going to be on TV. Another project for Mr. Wabbit.

Well, That's All Folks for now. Catch You All on the rebound.
Wabbit.

Hi Zero. Always good to see someone new here. Do you have any critters?

That making lace looks too confusing for me. I'd be like a cat with a yarn ball. A tangled up mess before you know it!
No critters. :( I miss crocheting. A lot of that fancy-work is something that you have to spend some time at. It takes a longer session to get into the rhythm of it.

My new fave is DIY 555 with whip cream, AP, caramel/graham cracker, EM and TFA 555. I can vape it all day long. I'm trying to perfect and then I will be putting it on my teensey weensey little blog:)

Yes, you definitely want to have your kitchen sparkling if it is going to be on TV.

It is warming up here although still cold overnight. Pretty close to freezing but will be in the 70's today and for the rest of the week for the highs.

I used to crochet, too. I don't know why I stopped. Other things took over, I guess. The most intricate thing I did was using a metal hook and fine thread to make snowflakes for Christmas tree ornaments. After I finished them, I starched them to make them stiff. Are you familiar with those?

I tried knitting, but it was too slow, and I was frustrated by not knowing where I was when I ripped something out if I made a mistake. I really should try them again sometime.

Believe it or not, I used to knit when I was a whole lot younger. I gave it up because I had a habit of tensioning the yarn too tight so if I started out with an extra large it ended up an extra small.

I found the weak point of the Bosh hammer/drill. It started to overheat after about thirty hole worth of drilling, if that was a solid wall it would be about ten feet of concrete. I let it cool down while I started using a hammer and chisel then drilled another twenty holes and it still works fine. Just have to let it rest every now and then I guess. The majority of the drill work is done and now it's just a case of hammer, chisel and muscle.

Hey Roland! Is it a simple hammer drill? Not a SDS Plus one?

Yes, Konstantine, it's just regular hammer/drill. If I was still doing real contracting work I would have bought the SDS model years ago, but being a homeowner/handyman those are a little too expensive for my purposes. Plus the SDS bits are more expensive as well, I bought a six pack of the granite bits for the same amount as one of the SDS bits. If this thing does go up in smoke before I'm done I may bite the bullet and spring for the Bulldog model of the SDS series, but if I take it easy with this one it should easily do the trick. I'm only cutting a 24" diameter hole through a four inch slab.

I prefer to crochet lace. Some used a sugar solution to make them even stiffer. That would work very well for the X-mas tree ornaments. When I frame those I have purchased, I pin them down on cardboard or paper on the carpet, then use spray starch. They never ironed them, always pin and spray.

Knitting? The way to keep track of your work is with a row-counter, and marking your instructions. Like anything else, once you get the rhythm of it, it goes faster.

I have a quilting project I am working on. My mother started it, but she had Alzheimer's, so it got pretty disorganized. I am putting some organization to it, but in its heart is a tribute to Mom.

We use sds plus from makita and hitachi at work, very expensive around 500 euros each.
But they open holes on industrial concrete like it's butter.

The one I bought was under a hundred dollars. The "fall back" Bulldog SDS is just under two hundred dollars. The advantage of the one I bought, for my purposes, is that it's a drill or a hammer drill. That gives me a half inch corded drill that I'll also need as this project progresses, lots of one inch holes to drill for PEX tubing and inch and a quarter holes for some copper plumbing. My battery drill, a Milwaukee 18 volt half inch, would certainly do that, but a corded drill has far more torque and the battery doesn't run down very often at all, LOL.
