Chocolate Recommendations

Just got the Double dark so no Idea. I use the Clear in several recipes as a mixer and usually cut any recipe by about 1/2 on the DCC. So far it has worked out very nicely.
Latest mix is 8% DCC and 8% Creme De Menthe - still needs a few says to see if the chocolate will pop or if I need to up it/Lower De Menthe. Even fresh, I can taste the chocolate nicely on the exhale.

I haven't found many chocolates I've tried. I do like Chocolate Truffle from vaping Zone and have read posts from others who agree. I also agree that HA cocoa is pretty good.

Anybody using chocolate with coffee? I am trying to make a Hazelnut Coffee for the wife. The recipe I am cloning has chocolate in it, but not sure how much... I can taste the chocolate in the original, but just barely...

Take a look at vaping Zone's Chocolate Coffee. I think it's pretty good.

Wllmc: Does the TFA double chocolate dark gunk up your coils with the caramel coloring? Also, how do you see the syringe measurements with the dark color. I had this problem with another flavor that was dark.

Has anyone tried both the clear and the dark? How different is the flavor?

Dark: This is a rich, dark chocolate that is a dark brown color, it seems to have a richer taste than the clear version. -Many people prefer it over the clear.

Just gave myself a headache sniffing and tasting all my TFA chocolates. Diluted 5 drops of each in 1oz distilled water. I was super scientific about it.

Double Chocolate Dark to me tastes the most like real chocolate (which means it tastes like box brownies) and tastes stronger than the clear, but Double Chocolate Clear definitely smells stronger but lacks a little in flavor. Dark is richer, and Clear is a little smoother or creamier or something but might have a faint chemical taste that Dark lacks. They are both pretty similar, and from experience that dark does tend to gum up coils pretty well.

-Also Bittersweet has top notes that both the Doubles lack, imo, it's sharper and mixing into one of the Doubles to me makes a better flavor than any single one from TFA does. It has a stronger flavor and smell.
-Milk Chocolate is smoother/creamier/lighter, and it's more reminiscent of chocolate Quik than brownies. It smells worse, but has a weaker taste that is ok.
-White Chocolate is my least favorite and one I didn't use past a few tries. The most chemical and cloying, has kind of a smooth nothing flavor with undertones of bug spray. This is the only one I'd recommend no one try, it's ugh.

I ordered samples of TFAs Double Chocolate Clear, Fudge Brownie, and White Chocolate (yes - "contains small amount of "Custard" ingredients, just as an added nuance"). That should provide a variety of chocolate profiles for sampling. I have fruits, vanillas and creams to try various combinations and have been looking at recipes. Time will tell if chocolate is a flavor profile I like to vape as well as eat.

I hate dark clogging juice and with those I use very little to get my desired taste. Once you go to low percentage needed flavors --like under 1 percent for the Russian ones--you can never go back---at least not me.

This is only my opinion--- but to put it concisely the VZ SC Chocolate has a tootsie roll like taste and smell to me and is alllready quite sweet---no sweetener needed. The Chocolate Truffle is like a chocolate pastry with a little bit of richness and the regular Chocolate in the Gourmet line is more like a regular milk chocolate flavor to me. I usually use both together in a recipe. Either chocolate also tastes great in conjunction with any of the other SC or Gourmet flavors. The Gourmet ones are so strong and so little is needed my juice does not get dark. The SC's are based in alcohol and the Gourmet I believe in PG. Hope that helps.

Yes that Spongecake is a must have---I don't even normally like Vanilla all that much--- except for that one.

I've been using about 6%, with 4% hazelnut, when I make chocolate mix I'll usually do 5% of either clear or dark Double and 5% bittersweet, or 3% each of milk, double, and bitter. I'm not big on a ton of flavor in my juice, but I use mostly VG, fwiw.

OSDIY Chocolate Cream is amazing no special mixing or even the least bit of steeping required.

Drop 10% in bottle add nic then top with your VG/PG and done.

I know this thread was originally started to get recommendations on chocolate flavorings. I had bookmarked this thread and since discovered this recipe for After 8 Dinner Mints and thought I might post it here and bump up this thread in case anyone is interested.

I have not tried this recipe, but it's up there on my list of "to try" recipes along with many of HIC's numerous recipes. If you've never tried these mints (as in eaten them) you are missing a great treat!
