Sorry but I am just so sick of hearing how I am a disrespectfull sub-ohmer yet I don't vape inside anywhere it's not specifically allowed. But a lot of people vaping ego batts and tanks think it's fine to stealth where it is not allowed. Just remember when you point a finger at someone there's three pointing back at you. My clouds keep me honest.

have you repeated this to your co-workers? I sub ohm outside but I have to, no one in my new company smokes or vapes :T
but I'm not allowed to anyways because of nj law...

Vaping finally started taking off by me. That's great. There are no bans here, as of yet. But what I see and hear more and more of is "Sub ohm, DO IT!!!" We have many people happy puffing on eGo kits, Evods. They are happy, respectful, and hurting nobody. At my job, I am respectful. I vape in the bathroom or go outside, if I absolutely must. I have been at this for over three years, so I can go a full shift with my vape still in my purse. But there are a couple of guys coming in and blowing CLOUDS :vapor:(looks just like this) and the owner is talking about banning vaping altogether! He has no room to talk. He smokes like a chimney and sits right outside the door and puffs away while the smoke makes its way in every time that door opens and closes. But that is HIS castle, and he is the king of it . But my point is. Sub ohming is NOT okay indoors where smoking is not allowed! A little puff from an eGo kit will usually send the owners looking the other way to keep business, but a human fog machine is just obnoxious! Either take that outside, or keep a single coil 1.5 ohm RBA on hand for indoor occasions! I can honestly see how these indoor bans are coming to be!

I do enjoy chucking in public and the side effect is that I know of 4 people that I have gotten switched to vaping because of it....It gets attention and starts the conversation...Most non vapers know nothing about it and do not seek out the information so when they see me chucking they come to see what it is and it gives me the chance to educate them...

I have been asked before to not do it inside and then I do not...respect

just my 2 cents...

My vaping coworkers know better. At my job, non smoking employees are way outnumbered by the smoking employees. Right now, there are no vaping bans in Florida. At my job, smokers come and go as they please, which can be twice an hour, while I am constantly covering for them. Quitting is not an option. I make good money, I love the patrons, and other than the constant covering for smoke breaks, I love my coworkers!

Edit-in response to SndGrdn #43- I love my mods, RBA's, drip tips, conversation pieces. But I don't aim to have proprietors approach me asking me to stop. I ask first. I saw enough drama as a smoker, but I never walked into places with no ashtrays, lighting up, and hoping everyone would be cool with it. To us we are nonsmokers. But to smokers we are wierdos, and to nonsmokers we are still smokers. That's the sad fact of life right now.

Edit (again) I know I seem ranty or whatever, but I am upset. I just saw the rights of vapers at my job possibly crushed by an ignorant little show-off and an ignorant boss who thinks it is okay to assault my nose with cigarette smoke! I worked at a place where I dared not get caught vaping, because there was no smoking at all, and I had no problem with that. I was involved because my boss stared at ME the whole time he yelled, because I was the first vaping employee he had, and like I said earlier, it is threatening his little smokers' circle. Earlier that night, the guy in question kept grilling my boss to try vaping. It was not a good scene at all.

That sounds like quite the conundrum. What I do when vaping indoors in public is, I take a hit, breathe in air until my lungs are full, hold it in for about five seconds, and then when I exhale, little to no vapor comes out. Using this method I can vape anywhere I like with everyone around me none the wiser. It shouldn't be too hard for others to use this or a similar method so as not to offend others.

LaPascualita, I too sometimes fan the vapor I exhale with my hand. Specifically, if I'm at work in the back workroom and my boss isn't around, I can vape without needing to hold my breath to make it unnoticeable, but it gets in my way when I need to see what I'm working on. Fanning it with my hand solves that problem. Also, exhaling very forcefully seems to thin out the vapor a bit.

whitewidows, occasionally I'll go outside with the smokers too when I'm at work, especially when my coworkers go out for a cigarette break. They have little "tobacco area" gazebos set up outside where people must be if they are smoking or else risk getting a 50$ fine. Usually it doesn't bother me being around tobacco smoke, but sometimes it makes me sick to my stomach. Sometimes it even comes on without warning. Like I'll just be standing there vaping with people around me smoking, fine, then suddenly I'll feel very sick and I need to get away from the smoke quickly or I throw up. I wonder if this happens to anyone else.

Yes, I remember feeling that same sense of *entitlement* when I was a smoker in the workplace.

Yeah, I talked to somebody a few months ago who was in a workplace where vaping was permitted, until one of the employees, during a meeting with a client, insisted on vaping in the meeting / conference room (despite suggestions that she put away her vape gear during this particular meeting).

The client didn't appreciate it, they lost the account, and hence, vaping is now banned in that workplace.

So you;re right, it is about respect. Ya can't get respect if you don't give it.

I wouldn't bring in my lunchbox and start making a peanut butter n' jelly sandwich in a meeting. I wouldn't give myself a manicure during a meeting. I wouldn't do my pilates stretching in a business meeting. Nor practice my guitar chords.

Vaping is a habit, recreation, or hobby ------and as such, also has no place in such a setting IMHO, unless everyone in the room is given the same leeway to practice THEIR hobbies / habits. (on company time).
