Sorry to go off-topic but I'm getting a bit muddled. I have decided to get a small car for trips to the supermarket. I asked for advice in the Newbie forum but most people just say "buy a Lamborghini". I have looked at my bank account and could only do so if I sold my house and built a treadmill for my cat to generate electricity. Is this really the only solution to my shopping dilemma? Wouldn't a second-hand Daihatsu Move be adequate for my needs? Confused.

Look, a Daihatsu won't pull the skin off a custard and isn't going to be satisfying enough. Put the house on the market immediately, and these people should be able to give you advice about cat training:

I simply can't afford to sell the house just so that I can go shopping in a Lamborghini. The Daihatsu Move looks spacious and will hold my groceries comfortably. The Lamborghini is a bit low-slung to carry much shopping imho.

What has that lady done to those cats?

Gosh you Albions are wicked sick with your technological advances! I had no idea Daihatsus moved.

Dear Ocelot - I fear the language used (English) as opposed to the language read (American) may have caused some confusion.

To recap: the Lamborghini fanbois are urging me down their route (which sounds both uncomfortable and unpleasant) when all I want to do is a little shopping.

The Daihatsu Move seems roomy - capacious even - and I can get a second hand one through the classifieds on my budget.

People don't realise the space taken up by potatoes and onions alone - the tinned chopped tomatoes are also bulky.

The Lamborghini just seems too low and thin to fit my purchases in.

I have also discussed the matter with my cat and she is reluctant to generate electricity on a treadmill. Firstly she bristled - then she scratched the leather chair.

Somehow or other the Lamborghini thing just isn't going to work.

Well, it's your life. If you're dim enough to spend money on food when you should be putting it aside for the Lamborghini you're going to end up with anyway, you're beyond dim. The lights are on in the castle, but the deck is short a queen as you blokes often say.

A leather chair? That's posh spice innit? I'll bet you have garish patterned carpets that clash magnificently together at doorways too. Tinned tomatoes are another pointless luxury. I'm sure there are plenty of parsnips growing within two or three days walk that just need the dead bits cut out. I could kick myself when I think of all the money I wasted on food when I could have had a Lamborghini - and I'd be slimmer. I just hope you have the sense to be smoking through all of this.

Why don't you put the blasted cat to work for God's sake?

I don't even know what it means :p

I think smoking cigarettes with flecks of tire to help keep them burning evenly has fried my brain. I'm amazed I can still walk and breath at the same time, although it takes all my concentration. Sadly I got hit by a car the other day and my leg was broken, fortunately the insurance settlement will let me finally be able to afford all the B&H's I'll need for the rest of my life! :D

I will never end up with a Lambourghini, simply because I don't want one.

Forget the Fiat - also Italian - and move with the Move! It's a sexy little thing that has a wiggle about it's chassis that makes me want to put shopping in it - and take it out of it - and get some more... Just sayin'

Flecks of tire? I never thought of that. I bet they smell fantastic!

What about a Fiat Panda

On the topic of cat whiskers, I don't have a cat but do have 2 dogs, a puppy and 8 year old. Would I be beat smoking the puppy's or our old dog's???

**i have a feeling PETA will be joining this topic soon :D

Your old dog's what exactly?
