Just went to the gas station and one of the workers was outside smoking....she was far away but I could still smell it....I have nothing against smokers because I was once one but does anyone else get really sick with the smell of cigarette smoke? or are you sensitive to the smell like me smelling it from faraway?

Funny how that works. I was a 2 pack a day smoker for 40+ years and now that I've been smoke free for the past 10 months, like you I can smell a burning cig from a mile away. Doesn't really bother me but I avoid when I can. I guess in my mind I'm afraid I might get that craving again. I'm sure that fear will pass in time.

I've been vaping for 5 years now. No cigarette until about a year ago. Was drinking beer and my ecig died on me. Took a hit off a friends cigarette and, I swear, I almost threw up after one hit. Damn it was nasty! Immediately remembered why I quit them. Noticed too that I kind of had forgotten how to even hold and draw on a cig. That being said, cigarette smoke now makes me nauseous when I smell it and I try to avoid contact with it at all costs.

It is astonishing just how nasty cigarette smoke can smell to someone who has quit smoking. People smoking outside the Safeway (often homeless) are enough to make me hold my breath as I walk into the store. I can smell smokers ten feet away just from residual smoke on their clothes. I never thought I would get to be this hypersensitive. I am a tolerant person by nature and keep this disgust to myself but it takes effort sometimes.

I have to say yes, it made me wheeze and friends of ours that still smoke (we're working on them, so far there's only one couple left on cigs) smoked in the house a couple weekends ago (I gave away all but one ashtray and it's got a broken keychain, change and some candy in it on the coffee table now) but as of this weekend it's a smoke free home, sorry but it stinks, and I had the carpet and furniture cleaned, washed all out clothes and enjoying not smelling like an ashtray anymore.

and yeah I know why folks got rabid about the smoke, having quit for five years ten years ago...

Outside I just get away from it, past the craving to take a puff, I did that three weeks ago and it was nauseatingly nasty.
