been experimenting with using twisted wire claptons with good results. even more surface area.
Very cool. How exactly are you building that and does it go through a mount hole?

this was all 29g ni200, start with twisting as long a piece as you can as tightly as you can in a drill, then use that to wrap i clapton style coil around itself takes about 6 times more wire for the wrapped bit than the finished wire length . this came out about 1mm in diameter but i have some 34g ni200 coming to try the same thing with

I just watched Rip Trippers clapton coil tutorial. He does a great job. I really wanna try one out.

Is it even possible for this mamma coil to fire on a mech or am I going to have to cave in and get an iPV3?
It will fire on a newly charged batt sub ohm. It should. The power decrease and drop will suck tho. The flavor is really great.

So your 2 wires inside the coil are tightly twisted together then you also tightly twist the exterior wire?

yeah, thats it. I am experimenting with different gauge internals (not twisted), to get a coil that works better on a mech . Best so far was a 24g g platt core with twisted ni200 outer. It was a beast on a mech.

I think these would perform best on high powered vw devices, 50w is the most i have with vw and thats about where its starting to come alive.

I am abit confused as to how this coil in your pick is a twisted Clapton....It looks like rolled challa bread:)

im really enjoying my fusion clapton, really intense flavour, i cant believe how this diy ripe banana tastes, its atleast twice as strong and depending on how you toot it you can get tons of TH, ramp up is instant, but then it is 0.13Ω

parallel 24g nichrome with 32g A1 on 3/32.
Nice symmetry and perfect wicking. Parallel insides? Niiiiice. Did you hand wrap the parallel or spin it up in a drill chuck?
