I learned to build on mechanicals back before high powered regulated devices.
It taught me to understand the nuances of coil building and wicking to get optimal performance.
There is no need for overpowering coils unless you have a huge mass of metal to heat.

Power doesn't equal performance.
I too used mechanical mainly series so also understand how coil building works actually big fancy coils ohm pretty high so it works well for me in reg and unreg

High resistance is the term.

Big fancy coils take forever to heat up on a mech, which is why high powered regulated mods are used to power them.

Yep indeed but they keep the resistance at a safe level sometimes with the materials I have twisted or Clapton will make an easy build

In series I see no ramp up time at all

Didn't really used too but with all these new "Super tanks" I've bought I haven't vaped under like 50w in a while! Heck the octo-claptons in my TFV4 won't hardly fire at less than 60w! But with all that surface area & mass OMG it's wonderful for me! That thing produces so much that it gagged a buddy of mine who vapes 12mg in a velocity on a mech & my juice is only 6mg! From the people that have tried it I've heard things like "Freight train & Mack truck" to describe the way it hits and right after that they comment on how smoothe it is! I can see you sitting there just seething about this but you really oughtta try it! Things have come a long way in just the year+ I've been vaping!:headbang:

P.S. Look at @pwheeler he's an avid squonker who bought a Mutation mt & really hasn't looked back!

Battery and juice manufactures love claptons, and mostly the DIYer's ...............
You should try building your own, Wayyyy better than the sweat shop made coils ............

Would love to build my own! But living in a mobile home with no garage the wife would have a real attack if I started making my own wire too! LOL!:headbang:

Exactly my point.

Doubling the voltage with a series mod is one way to compensate for inefficient coils with too much mass.
