I was hoping to post this in the cosmetic mods section, but I was restricted due to being new. I am in the process of forcing a patina on an old copper mod, and wanted to know what brand of clear-coat is the best to buy. Let me know what you think.
Rustoleum makes a good clearcoat...they have both satin and gloss. I have used them both and for something that is handled all the time like a mod I'd recommend the satin finish.
The trick with it is to be sure to completely degrease with alcohol and let dry before applying and then apply in multiple light coats following the direction on the can to avoid "sag". Also allow proper dry time before using.
