Clear coat suggestions?

I just put an awesome patina on my copper nemesis and cleared it using 5+ coats of regular clear spray paint. It's been a few days and the coat is already wearing off in places.
Any brand suggestions?

Try clear engine enamel from the auto parts store. Good stuff for patina.

Whatever you put on as a clear coat it will be softer than the random stuff in you pocket that rubs against it. It inevitably will scratch or chip and then you have to take it off and put it on again.

The engine enamel might be a little better but it will scratch and then it will be hell to get off to fix.

I embrace the ever changing appearance of uncoated copper. I also stick to stainless steel if I do not want it to change.

But i think you wont like having to reapplying it so often or the oily wax in your pocket.

There really is no way to preserve the patina and still use the device in an every day sort of way.
