I have recently ordered the Vtube SS mini and from the pic's I have seen on the SS Vtube and the V2.0 Vtube look identical. Just so I am clear, are these actually 2 different models with different/improved internals with improved capabilities? If so and the 2.0 is coming soon I would probably request a refund and apply it to the purchase of the updated model. Thanks

Below is the pic I saw this is supposed to be the V1.5 LT with the led display..it's supposed to be here by the end of April..I believe it's supposed to have a 3amp rating plus displaying the ohms of the carto/atomizer and maybe the V2 will have a 3.5amp rating..it's not really clear now what is what though..I'm waiting awhile before I buy my 2nd one probably for the V2 and for the initial prices to go down.

Edit: It is also possible the below pic is faked..we will soon know what is real though...

Thanks. BTW got his info from them just now, but no word on when the 1.5 and 2.0 versions are expected to be released (maybe they didn't have the info or maybe they just didn't want me asking for a refund?).

DCB: is the new ss vtube mini a version 1.5 or 2.0 with upgraded internals over the standard vtubes?

Dave: Let me look into it

DCB: please do.

Dave: no upgraded internals over our normal vtubes

Dave: [2:13:10 PM] Kimi: The inside of the upcoming ss vtube still have the same electronics as the black version. We are aware that some people do not like the auto limiting of the current to 2.5amp, but that is a security feature that we are not changing for now. The ss version will be in solid stainless steel, and has built-in ego adaptor which the black version does not have.

DCB: do you know when the other versions are planned to be released?

Dave: I do not. SOrry

DCB: ok thanks.

Dave: It has been my pleasure.

I'm wondering if I should order the SS or just wait until V2. It will be my first VV mod.

IDK maybe buy a regular version 1 LT at the discount and the V2 later if you like the V1. The V1 kits seem to be dropping in price pretty fast now so maybe wait a week and see if they drop more. Getting the SS might not be a bad idea but they seem to keep being pushed back. If you think you can only afford one and can wait awhile get a V2. I have a V1 and have been happy..I plan on getting a V2 in chrome or SS in the future.

Well, with the Easter discount I can get a SS for $68, and I can wait until they come in cause I'm happy with my ego passthrough. Then I can get SS V2 in the future I suppose. :)

If/when they do make a SS V2. I just thing the SS is nicer looking than the plastic ones.

Apollo is saying the SS is special order and that no more SS's will be made..I don't believe that though I think there is a market for SS and they will make them..but if they don't there will be a chrome plated one for sure and it will probably look as good..with plating it will wear off after awhile but with the cost of these devices when it get's worn you can just buy another one..I'm sure the chrome VV tubes will be close to $30 eventually for just the device.

I agree, provari is was over priced... When the smoktech vv comes out with a 4 amp switch for $100 provape is screwed.

Not necessarily. The SmokTech VV is a dual battery aka stacked battery mod. The Provari is a single battery mod.
There is a bit of aversion to stacked battery mods at the moment, justified or not.

Also, being in the $100+ retail area does make it a different decision making process than if it were cheap like the LavaTube.

At $50 to $60 retail for just a black regular LavaTube body, it is pretty easy for someone to choose it over the Provari if price is the primary consideration for their VV choice.

A $100+ mod puts people in the position of saying "Hmm... maybe I should just save up for the Provari since it is only about $50 more". (More like $100 more after buying the 18650 battery end, but you get the point).

I'm pretty darn sure that testing will will show the Provari to be a superior product to the SmokTech VV, so the SmokTech VV will have to compete primarily on price.

You just know these things will probably sell for $60 or lower in a kit at some point. The LT was over $100 when it 1st came out..they have to make up initial design costs and production..but if it sells and they start running them off in high volume the price will drop drastically. I mean if you shop around you can get a LT kit with 2 batteries for around $40 right now.
