How did you kill them? I chain vape with my evods, MT3Ss and Vision Victory clearomizers. I do get a burnt vape now and then, but just letting it rest a few minutes seems to set everything right again. You can replace the heads on the evods if you really think they are goners.

I am still using the first ones I bought and have not replaced heads yet. I just clean them in isopropyl alcohol (then a hot water soak to flush out the alcohol) or hot water by itself. I have lots of replacement heads, but haven't found the need to use them yet. These clearos have been in fairly constant use for over 2 months now. I have at least three filled with different flavors and nicotine strengths at any given time and I rotate as the desire hits me during the day.

FYI: there are wise folks on here who do not recommend the use of isopropyl alcohol. I am flying the face of their sage advice and hoping I don't hurt myself. Just don't want to mislead anyone about the use of a poison. I try very hard to make sure it is all out of the coil and wick before using them again.

I've killed a CE4 and two evods chain vaping on my 1100mah ego. What clearo will stand up to chain vaping and/or what resistance level that will also give flavor and not be to cool. Doig either all pg or 80/20 pg/vg.

How exactly did you kill the EVODS? Do they no longer fire or just dont vape very well?

If they still fire, have you disassembled the heads/removed the flavor wicks and dry burned the coil/wick to degunk it and see if you get some of the original performance back?

If you have any replacement heads for the EVOD try removing one of the wicks before installing it. When I first started using mine I would get a dry hit sometimes if I vaped it too often; after removing one of the three wicks it works extremely well.

Those wick pieces are so small that I am afraid even with magnifying glass I wouldn't be able to distinguish a single strand, but I'll check youtube for some hints on that.

They make every juice look like used motor oil. No bad taste, and no worse draw than the first time I used them (too airy even with two holes covered). I just thought that the dark juice was a sign that the coil was going to go kaput. The ce4 did the same thing as far as changing the juices color.

Ok, assuming you are killing your EVOD's, you may kill any other clearo as well. I do love the EVOD for many reasons. However, I recently added an air flow controller to my gear and transformed my Kanger Protank into Nirvana Vape Clearo. Vapes just like an EVOD draw now. That being said, I do replace my heads every three days or so, cleaning between replacements. I need to do this because of the juice I use which does an outstanding job of carbonizing and caramelizing my wicks. This is rarely the case for others, though. I DIY my juice with a lot of flavor...a dark, sweet, thick concoction that takes a lot of heat. Not everyone's vape, I understand. The coil cleaning and replacement is a huge part of vaping enjoyment, and you need to master this part before worrying about another topper that's just going to give you the same problems, and believe me, the flavor wicks are not the problem.

Try this, start watching at around 8:30 A PBusardo Review - The Kanger ProTank - YouTube

It's a video for the ProTank, but the heads are nearly identical. Once you get the post removed the wicks are pretty easy to work with.

chain vaping with most all tanks will do that if you heavily chain vape. The average coil gets to ~500ºF and by not giving the residual heat enough time to dissipate you are essentially boiling the ejuice.

There actually is a point where that motor oil looking juice will start to taste burnt. If you vape with that junk in there too long it will start to quickly gum up your coils, therefore you are mashing your button down longer just to get a decent hit and then... refer to first paragraph.

I watched a youtube about it as recommended below and I had no idea it was so simple! I'll definitely be looking to do more of my own stuff.

I just take all the extra wick off the top of the coil and put the stem back on, it floods if i leave it upside down for extended periods of time but no dry hits, this is in reference to my protank, i briefly used the evod and didnt like the fit on my pv. If you are into rebuilding the coil heads i find the 2mm wick solves the flooding and dry hit.

try the iclear 16, i chain vape it and never a dry hit, atty lasts forever.
