Honestly though maybe I'm missing something with the carto tanks because I've only tried them once and I felt the draw was very weak and the flavor muted compared to my Nova. Can someone recommend a carto tank they've had success with? With all the carto tank/anti clearomizer Nazi's out there I might have to give this a second try.

im using a smoketech dc tank with boge f16 flanged cartos, way way better tasting then any clearmizer I have tried, that being said I have only tried vapor king cleros, which look like vivi novas and a ismoka BBS (bottom coil clearo). the BBC isnt bad but still no where near my carto tank set up. I really want to try a protank but for the same price I can get a nice glass carotank. Hard choice

I've had good success with these. Nice warm, full vapor (10.5 - 11.5 watts) and a nice moderate to tight draw, more like an analog:

I use them in a Phiniac Glass Tank (XL).

I have had the most success with CARTO tanks.
- Bought a couple of Kanger Protanks. They are ok --- But even after modding to improve juice flow I still get dry hits.
- Iclear 16 + Iclear 30 = Muted Flavor but good vapor production.
- RBA (RSST) that I use = Not dialed in yet ... still working on it. (High Hopes), also bought a Odysseus clone. We will see how it goes.

The only thing that matters is does the rig satisfy you and is it cheap enough.
In that vein what I want is a replacement therapy for smoking.
That means all I want is convenience, good rich satisfying vapor, enough nicotine (heading toward ZERO which everyone should do just because you can) and all that for nothing. Well not nothing obviously but as close to nothing as I can get at my skill level.
But most of all I want it to be SAFE.
Safe for me and for those around me and any grandkids that come over, pet monkeys and the like, etc.

So after months of using the eGo 650 with the Kangertech T2 plastic Clearomizers I ran into e-juice that eats the damned plastic!
HORRIBLE! And not at all good for anybody I am sure.
So now I test all juices on an old CD before ever putting them in my tanks. One drop on the burnable side (same plastic as T2s are) and if they wipe clean after a day they are golden.
If they eat plastic, discolor it, smear it, make it cloudy, or outright MELT it like Amaretto did, I throw them out.
I also only do business with folks the TELL me when a juice will eat plastic (those juices should be banned imho).

I also switched to the new eGo-C Twists 900mah and Kangertech Pro-Tank because it is Pyrex (heavy glass) very well made and so far with the twist every juice comes across as warm, rich, and satisfying. I still throw out plastic eating CRAP that has to be poison to human lung tissue.
I also now DIY my own juice and calculate that vaping very heavily, even if I have to replace my rigs (I have two in rotation) twice a year, I can do it all for less than $400.
$400 dollars divided by 365 days is less than $1.10 a day.
Those are real numbers.

And they depend on me not fussing around buying 48 different products testing them out when I already have met my personal goals.

But I went into Vaping with goals not just a pleasure persuasion.
Some are all about fiddling around and whatnot.
I rather read a good book.

The Pro-tank is awesome but it makes my rig look like an RPG or some sort of weapon.
I would prefer a pyres version of the T2 and would then be all set.

But to each there own yuh know?

Good luck and cheers!

I have not tried Carto/Tanks but would like to based on reviews ECF people have given. All set ups have their pros and cons. Seems that, depending on what you get used to, you compensate for your the particular cons of your set up while trying to expand upon its pros. I "made my bones" with clearos (both bottom and top feeders) and try to live with their deficiencies and enhance their attributes. Really wish more were offered in Pyrex. Hoping that it will be a trend (reasonably price) going forward. My protanks , and in fact most of my bottom coils eventually leak all over my batts. The long wicks of the Vivi minis and CE5s don't leak but mute the flavor and the plastic tank limits the types of juices you can use. Even the metal tanks have windows that are plastic so corrosive (acidic) juices wiill eventually take their toll. So tell me, what is a guy/gal to do? Since I am about my nic fix, I tend to go with whatever works for me at the time.

You should try a 3 hole punched carto in a good glass tank. Never a leak and never a dry hit. No need to fiddle other than to add eliquid every 24 hours in my case with a 5ml tank. After 7 - 10 days, I toss out the carto and start over with a new one for $1.99. I will start using attys again when I don't have to rebuild them myself and they are as hassle free as cartos.

I don't know why or who would try and clean a carto. They only cost $1.99 and last 7 - 10 days. 3-hole punched carto tanks in a 5 ml glass tank is a very trouble free way to vape, IMO.
I agree with this. Cartos are a disposable device. They will give you service for at least 30ml of juice, often even more. When you consider you likely spent $ 5 a day on cigarettes and thought nothing of it, spending $ 2 for something that will last you at least a week or more is a bargain.

There's no need to ban those types of juices. Many people enjoy them, as do myself. I agree vendors should warn customers which flavors may harm devices that use polycarbonate plastic. However, there are plenty of juice delivery devices available today which can use those flavors safely, and even more are coming on the market. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...6-something-safe-cinnamon-citrus-flavors.html

Cartotanks have been my primary delivery device for almost a year. Having used cartotanks from several different manufacturers, I can highy recommend a new user to try either of the two cartotanks below. These are high quality tanks that can be purchased for a reasonable cost. Less expensive tanks may suit your needs, but then again they may not for a number of reasons. I personally believe you often get what you pay for, and the below tanks will provide you with a higher chance of success than some cheaper tanks.
______

Polypropylene plastic tubed tank from My Vapor Store. $22.50 will get you a complete tank kit including metal caps and tube, drip tip, and 5 prepunched cartomizers of your choice of single/dual coil cartomizers in your choice of resistance. These tanks are 3.5 or 6 ml capacity (same price) and offered in your choice of color. Safe for use with all flavors of juice. 510 Pro DCTank Combo

______

Pyrex-tubed tank from IBTanked. $25 - 30 for complete tank kit includes stainless steel caps and pyrex tube, a proper length carto for the tank, and a combination drip tip and tank assembly tool. Price depends upon capacity size of tank. Multiple options in tank diameter (19, 22, and 25mm) and lengths (35 & 45mm).

Juice capacities of each tank available are listed under "facts" on the website at the top of the page. https://www.ibtanked.com/complete-tanks/stainless-steel-setup I did a thorough review of these tanks here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3318-3-ibtanked-pyrex-glass-tanks-review.html . I own 12 of these tanks and they are my favorites of all my tanks to use.
