i have a apollo ego ce4 system.. also i am a newbie ... beside from the coil burning out why does the company say the life of a clearomizer is about 2 weeks if it is still working whats the deal. and how can you tell it going out beside it is not working... please explain

Because they want to sell more?

Get an EVOD or 2, then you only have to change the bottom coil.

so what you are saying is the flavor will change as the coil gets older or does not burn to full capacity or dirty?or will you get what kind of taste? i am a newbie just trying to understand the mechanics

Yes the flavor will change. Each time you fire up that coil, a tiny bit of residue remains on it. Over time those tiny bits add up and start burning. That burnt residue can bleed through the wick back into the tank but more important, you are inhaling that stuff. Both alter the flavor.

Go to youtube and search "dryburn clearomizer". Watch more than one video. I'd recommend at least 3.

As far as your original question, Apollo want's you to spend money on their clearomizers.

I 2nd the evod's

I was sold the CE's when I first started after I went to bottom coil I don't know why they still exist

This.

I started on ce4's and then about 3 weeks later graduated to Evods and other sweet bottom coils. The ce series are a good starter clearo, that's about it.

If you dry burn/clean them they will last longer.

Edit: And this ;)

I use iclear16 clearos all the time, they are great thanks to the dual coil setup. While i use other things in between the iclears my girlfriend has been using one for a month, she vapes around 2mL every day but the iclear is still going strong. For the price they are one of the best clearos i tried.

Some of us still like the ce's and I actually prefer the ce2 to the 4. I do think I noticed a remarked drop in flavor in the 4's after only a couple weeks and just got an order for the 2's in and am very happy again. I have many of the 2's around that I clean and use again and again making them last for many weeks. The ce'4s I cant take apart and clean as well. I'll probably trash those.

how many mm's e-liq before cleaning? clearomizer....and does quick dry burn after cleaning burn off e liq residue?

A lot will depend on the juice you are vaping. A better way to determine when to clean is when you notice decreased flavor or vapor production. +1 on the Evod here too. Good Luck :)

I still use the CE's. I love them. I did try the very popular evods, but they are a bottom coil unit and the vapor is cooler. I really enjoy the warmer vape of a top coil like the CEs. They start going bad when the draw gets tight, you get less vapor, and the liquid starts to turn darker. I use the CEs where you can change the coil out. I get coils for less than 2 dollars each. Some of the CEs you cannot do that and you dispose of the entire unit. I change coils every 4-5 days. Your mileage may vary depending upon your taste buds and type of liquid.

thanks boss... how do you set up the (i have been smoke free) unit at bottom of your page

Click the link in his signature, or mine, and follow the instructions.

I'll also vote for switching to (or adding) the Evod. But please make sure you get the real deal and not a knockoff. Here's one of my favorite vendors, an authorized Kanger outlet, who only sells genuine Kanger equipment.

Kanger eVod Clearomizers

That said, I still have a few throwaway top coil clearos here. They're good for trying out different liquids or for flavors that do better with the warmer temperature they provide. One of those has been on duty since late June, but I don't use it daily and it's full of a very thin liquid that doesn't gunk up coils. I clean them after every use, then do a dry burn.
