Followed the vid on the Got Vapes page. The taste on this thing is unbelievable! Pure juice!

Its firing just fine on the halos, volts, and V4Ls. Only issue so far with the latter is, the over all draw is too airy. I'm going to try and sand down the carto threads for a tighter fit.

So far impressed!

OK boys, they are here!

My first question is, what happens when you don't do all the modding and just use as the instructions say to? Dry hits and juice in the mouth?

I'm going to watch the video skelley posted and try to figure out what kind of surgery to perform here... ;)

If you don't do the modding and just try to do it as is, you have a 50/50 chance of getting that yuck burnt taste. I highly recommend one of the many modding procedures (especially the one I mentioned that I use) to ensure you don't have that happen. I have a little baggie full of those lower cup seals, I refuse to use them at this point because I have had such a good experience using the middle seal rib side down over the ceramic cup (with an extra one stuffed in the middle if you happen to have it) and drip tip on top. At the very minimum if you chose to leave the lower cup seal in place, lift it up slightly to ensure that it wicks better.

Just keep an eye on the moisture down the center post, Cyrus. You can mod the connection but there will always be condensation and the occasional sneaky bit of excessive fluid dripping off the coil. Take a moment every now and then to blow through it and make sure it's clear. It gets worse as time goes on and more modding and fiddling may be required.

Thanks Cyrus Vap!
No leaking problem then?

Been thinking about going clearomizer's way but don't have manual batt. Now if only I could find them - seems like all stocks are sold out nowadays…

No leaking so far (fingers crossed!). The taste is amazing. I feel like I've been living in the dark. I guess I recognize the purity from dripping, but with dripping I'm always too lazy to have a long vaping session, so it never really settled in.

As far as my above observation WRT draw and airflow

So the absence of stuffing seems to generate a very open, airy draw, kind of like a horizontal coil carto and then some

On the Gen 2 batts, it works like dynamite, as their naturally stiffer airflow balances things out

On my V4L batts that have a more sensitive switch, it works like dynamite X 10 :) Its completely effortless and open

A have 2 V4L batts that have a slightly more stubborn switch, you would hardly notice it with a wow carto, cool carto, or horizontal coil unless you're super OCD about switch sensitivities and batt discrepancies like I am.

By stubborn switch, I mean it requires a slightly harder/higher velocity drag to get it firing. Add a super open and airy clearo, and it gets a tad more stubborn. The air flow is actually a bit TOO open, and requires a hair too much 'suck'. Nothing horrible, still excellent, but inferior to both above scenarios.

I tried sanding down the clearo threads for a tighter fit, didn't fix it. I haven't yet tried to raise the battery post/clearo post, will try and report back.

All in all not a deal breaker by any means, its the difference between 8/10 and 11/10 :)

The other thing I'm watching for like a hawk is burning juice and consequent crud on the coils. This will happen with horizontal coil cartos on anything above 3.7 Volts (e.g. Gen 1 batts from full charge to about 2 secs before they die). My guess would be it should happen on these clearos, but for whatever reason, it has not yet. Fingers crossed again!

Thank you for the heads up Charlz. I'm having trouble visualizing what you mean.

So condensation builds up in the center air tube and then drips off the coil and down the center tube and into the batt?

Condensation is always an issue. With filler cartos, it usually get reabsorbed. Those clearos don't have much open space above the coil so it's not much of an issue. But keep an eye on it. Check by blowing through it after a heavy vape session.

The excess fluid is more of a problem over time. I have clearos that are a few months old now. The gasket with the wick holes will degrade over time and let in more fluid. I now have clearos that just sit in the tube and I drip on the wicks. The original tubes are long gone and replaced with syringe tubes. If you want a real treat....try that sometime. More flavor without any rubber between you and the coil. :toast:

I'm going to have to ask you for a tutorial on that some day soon :)

I pulled the bottom cup with the fill holes out and tossed it in a drawer. I just have the middle ring with the ribs facing down as my seal, haven't had a flood in my mouth yet except when I held it upside down for a while to see what would happen lol

So a few days later...

Love these things. The flavor is unbelievable. The vape is so thick it makes vaping my gen 2s with their ......ed cut off tons of fun :)

Haven't noticed a difference between v4ls and gen 2s with respect to coil gunking/juice scorching. Somehow these escape the fate that bottom horizontal coils seem to subject you to when you go over 3.7 Volts. So far...

Cleaning is easy and fast. Little dentals tools are great for scraping crud off the coils, as is dry burning.

Awesome for dripping directly as well (thank you Charlz for that)

Two thumbs up so far!

PS: Snapped one of my wicks off, and sowed the pieces back together. Vapes like a monster! FOund the PTB mod, gonna try it the second I get to the supermarket
