I'm having a slightly different leak problem with the XL Clearos (3.0. I also have a batch of regular sized 510 clearo's and they work fine (had to snip a piece of heatshrink on one of them to kill a plastic taste). The XL's work great after a clean and a fill (Running under hot water, patting down and dry-burning til the element is clean), but if I top them off or refill them without dissecting them for cleaning, it seems like the refill causes them to leak out of the hole on the battery side.

After blowing it out and cleaning the excess on the threads and mouthpiece, it's good for another few puffs and then vapor production drops off again, I get a gargle, and I need to blow it out, wipe it off, and go again. I've made sure the parts are secure, and this happens no matter how much, or how little liquid is in the tube, so it's not a filling issue.

I'm losing a lot of juice because of this problem, and it's only 2 of my 5 XL's that do this. I love the flavor and vapor these things produce, and minus a couple minor issues, I like them much better than standard joye, boge or generic cartos. I'm switching to the IKV cartos, but I'd really like to salvage these if I can. Only had them for 2 weeks, and I rotate between all 5 so that I don't overuse any one.

Any ideas?

I definitely know what you're talking about. My revision 3 cartos were bad to do this and some of my r4 do too, usually after getting some age on them.

There are multiple reasons why this can happen, some being, over filling and getting in the air flow tube, loose ceramic cup, and leaving your PV on its side can cause this.

Since it's not a filling issue as you say, you could try to reheat the black shrink wrap around the cup to secure it.

Thanks Turbo, I noticed that they only did that when turned upside down or laid sideways for an extended period. I'm using my ego carto for my main flavor right now but I'll try the fixed ones shortly and see what happens. I did notice that the heatshrink was definitely a little bit open so I hit em with a lighter and they should be good the next time I use em. There's definitely a marked visual improvement.
Unfortunately now I'm going to have to solder the wires back in place for one of the two, but that's my own damn fault, and I'll fix that later. Damn these things are fragile! Thanks for the tip tho, I think it made the difference.
