I"ve been vaping for about 18 months now and been cigarette free for the same length of time. I began with a drip setup and then went to a eGo 6ml Titan cartomizer. I used the Titan until I got fed up with leaks and the taste of the raw juice on my lips. I was then introduced to the Kanger T2 clearomizer by my local vape shop and I have never looked at anything else since. I use the T2 on an eGo-C upgrade battery as my travel setup - and a eGo-V v2 Mega battery as my home setup. I think the price of replacement heads for the T2 (at around a buck apiece) is ridiculously low and they are extremely easy to clean when they do get gunked up. You can even replace the coil units with half a tank of juice without spilling any juice. Am I just too easy to please or am I overlooking something

Since joining and reading posts on ECF, I am becoming aware of the array of different clearomizers that are available. Can someone tell me what the differences are between the different models such as top coil, bottom coil and dual coil - as well as any benefits of units made by different companies.

PS - This a great forum and I wish I had found it a lot sooner - probably would have saved me a lot of learning mistakes :D

Welcome , yet again , but you might also want to try a few of the other Kanger clearo's . The " Evod " , and the T3 or even the baby T3 . These are all bottom coil clearo's , where the T2 is a top coil , as is the vVivi-Nova's , and the Iclears ( dual coil ) The bottom coil devices , tend to get less dry hits than the top coils ( in my opinion ) but if your happy with them , no reason to look elsewhere . If it ain't broke , don't fix it .

I started with clearo's with a basic ego. I think it was a ce5 or a stardust, worked great and was satisfied. I found a site to get a great deal on on a 5-pack from China, and after a month of waiting was disappointed to find that only 2 would work, the other 3 were made cheap. The t3 and protanks are great and easy to use, but don't last long in my opinion. The bottom feeder is the way to go. I hear there is a clearo that has SS to make up the wick. Interesting to see if it compares to a RBA in taste and longevity.

I think I've tried most of the clearomizers out there and can say in one word what I like best: Evod bottom coil clearomizer. Guess that's four words. Best combination of draw, vapor, throat hit, ease of use, maintenance, stealth, inexpensive replacement coils, etc. Only downside is that it only holds 1.5 ml of juice, but I do the refill thing because I love everything else about it. Just ordered a 10 pack on Fasttech for $24.50, that's $2.45 each. Look great on all the devices out there, particularly the ego style devices. I have dozens of clearomizers, literally, not to mention cartos, tanks, atty's, et al, and I keep coming back to that little evod...

I started out with the CE4 clearos and didn't like them at all - no vapor, no flavor, no good. Then went to the little CE3 clearos which are bottom coil and liked those much better. They only hold about 1.2 ml and you need a syringe to fill them which gets old after awhile. Pretty good vapor production from the CE3s though.

A couple days ago I broke out a T2 I had sitting around from a previous order. Never used it 'cuz I was sticking with the CE3s. Well so far I'm liking it. It's a top coil which means you have to "tilt and swirl" a lot to keep the wicks wet but it has great vapor production. I find it's better if you keep it topped off with liquid. Changeable head is a nice feature too but haven't done it yet.

I'm waiting for an EVOD from FastTech. Anxious to try it from the good reviews I've seen.

I'm using standard eGo batteries and a SmokTech Winder VV.

I've been using the dual coil iclear 16s for a while now. I take these to work with me - relatively cheap to replace in case of accidents. Great clearos in terms of throat hit and vapour. The cost of these is almost the same as the single coil equivalent but with better performance. Replaceable heads make these so easy to maintain. The only downside, unless its me, is they're juice guzzling because of the 2 coils

My understanding is that the FastTech EVOD is a "generic" or clone - I have one on the way...
Sounds like you've had no quality concerns with it at all - would you consider it identical to a branded Kanger EVOD?

I prefer dripping best, but since i do a lot of driving and can't screw around a lot, i've been doing various tanks for a while now.

I started with the Smok Tech DCT (dual-coil tank). It requires a flanged cartomizer with a hole or three punched in. Not sure if there was just a really bad batch of those cartos going around, but i had nothing but trouble after the first one. The dual coils produced a pretty good amount of vape, but i was just getting nothing but dry hits with melted-filler flavor.

The CE4 was my next tank. It's top-coil with a wick. Not bad, but a bit plasticky-tasting. Not sure if chemicals from the plastic leech into the juice or what, but my experience was less than optimal.

Then i got a Vivi Nova. I loved that thing! But eventually my juice just started falling straight out as quick as i could fill it. I still cannot find a crack or anything, so i'm not sure which part to replace, but i suspect it's the plastic cylinder which just degraded over time. It's top-coil, with a wick. I sometimes got some dry hits, but turning it over a bit helps that.

Next i got an SVD which came with a couple iClear 30s. Nice. Much better. They're top, dual-coil and have a hundred long wicks and work really, really well. But, they're still plastic.

Now i just started on Kanger ProTanks. Bottom-coil with tiny little nubby wicks. Hits like a champ. Glass tank. Pyrex in fact, though i understand modern Pyrex is not the same as your grandmother's. The bottom coil means it generally never goes dry. It has a surprisingly airy draw, which many don't like but i do a lot, having gotten sick and tired of sucking on clogged cartos for years.

I'm pretty sure i'll be trying EVODs next, since they're bottom-coil and dirt cheap. I understand they're really good.
