I am a noob and I usually go full board about anything new that grabs my interest! Therefore, I have read alot and purchased alot from different vendors to check it all out. First of all , I use the ego-t, have the vv,twist,650, and 1100 batteries and in alot of colors!! Well, I have purchased several clearomizers tank from a few vendors. Because I keep them all in a drawer as they come in, I'm not sure whose product is whose, but some do not work.....I mean I fill with juice and attach and nothing happens--doesn't fire, usually the ones without the spring post give me the trouble of not working but not certain. Then I noticed a tank that would not vape on my battery worked on the old ladies battery, go figure.....are they that inconsistent or maybe we get a bad one here and there as I am told they are all pretty much made in china with lots of model numbers. I like these tanks because to me they are simple and disposable unless I want to do the rinse and burn which I tried but could not get that same pop even with fresh battery!!,
Also, PRICING, what a range.....my local smoke shop sells for 9.95ea and I bought some til I started to research vamping on site and found the prices range from a couple dollars to 5.00. I just want a good tank with long wicks, metal flow pipe and spring post that attaches to battery. Some call this ce 4, 4+, etc. I will start separating the tank as I buy them to weed out the bad ones I receive. Does this happen to you, fill a tank with good juice and it doesn't hit/vape, pull the juice back out and try a new tank, WASTEFUL!! Once in a great while, I'll try the non working tank on another battery and it will work, WHY!!?? Help with explanations!! I have not ventured out into other options as I like to keep things very simple, any other better tanks to try for my ego system and instructions!! I only been vaping 3 weeks.

Somewhere out there
Have you checked the wick assembly to be sure it is screwed in? Some that have replaceable heads do come undone/unscrewed. It is also a good idea to mark them as to what they are and who you got them from. Much easier to know what the duds were! To me all clearos have something that is not perfect. I have tried quite a few, right now I am using a screw tank/Titan Smoktek tank it has wicks that are replaceable, it is works pretty well. I also have a smaller clearo from Halo Triton line that also has replaceable heads, but it is 808 threaded, I have not tried it on an ego with 501 threads even tho it has ego threads as well.
I have a bunch of otehr brand clearos in a box that did not work too.
The Kanger Protank gets good reviews for the most part but I have not tried it because I do not like a metal drip tip top. Good luck! bnrk

Depends on exactly what clearo you have.

In general, if it's rebuildable at all, once empty of juice you unscrew the bottom metal part from the tube. The coil and wick assembly will be screwed into what you just took out. All can be cleaned under hot running water. Wicks can be fragile - just pat them dry.

Yes, sometimes the coil is loose from the factory. I tend to take all new gear apart and clean before use. Never know what's left over from manufacturing. And sometimes, too, the coil can work loose from normal filling (especially with any of the top coil units.)

Not knowing exactly what you're using, hard to be more specific, but maybe it helps?

I attribute it to slight variations in setting the pin, on both battery and clearo. How hard the insulator / gasket got compressed. And sometimes to being heavy handed attaching can just make the situation a little stranger. So a compressed clearo won't work on a compressed battery, but works on a battery that has a slightly higher pin.

When it works on one battery but not another, it's probably the connector pin having been pushed in "too deep" for one.
You may be able to pull it up - they have some "ride" to them - use a teensy needlenose, or a toothpick with some leverage, and try to pull the pin "up". I had one that I thought was just plain dead, but I tried this, and then it worked great. This was just before the vendor switched to a spring-loaded type.

Sounds like you also simply have some experimenting to do to find a clearo that you are happy with and that's fairly reliable. This may take some work!! Different vendors have different brands of the same "Type" - so you may see lots of things called a "Stardust" that are of varied quality. I am STILL experimenting myself, but am now avoiding pretty set on specific manufacturers with a couple highly recommended exceptions (like a mini vivi nova that's branded "DV" from discountvapers.com instead of a Vision Mini Vivi Nova).

Suggestion: try, perhaps, a Kanger EVOD.

Sorry - for clarification - the pin on that BATTERY may be pushed in a little to far to make a connection with that particular clearomizer. Here's what I'm talking about.
